    The 2nd Elite Schoolboy Awards Night will take place on Friday, February 14, in the Hamlet Court Hotel, Johnstownbridge, Enfield, Co. Kildare.

    All 2013 Irish Champions at Boy 1, Boy 2, Boy 3, Boy 4 and Cadet Champions at these age groups will receive awards.
    Boxers who partook in the Elite Schoolboy Summer Training Camp in Gormanston in 2013 will also receive an award. (more…)

  • Iron Mike Productions Announces Monthly Series At Sands Casino

    Hall of Famer “Iron” Mike Tyson is the youngest World Heavyweight Champion of all-time and in 1987 he was voted “World’s Most Popular Athlete.”

    The living legend became a boxing promoter last year, partnering with Garry Jonas to form Iron Mike Productions, which has announced its new monthly boxing series, “KO Kings of Tomorrow,” starting February 22, at Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

    Tyson, of course, isn’t the first world champion who turned to promoting after retiring from the ring. He joined a select list of fighters who became boxing promoters, including Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Roy Jones, Jr., Oscar de la Hoya, Bernard Hopkinsand Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (more…)

  • Fight Network To Telecast Shared Chisora, Fury Bill To America

    Fight Network announced today that it will air the February 15 Frank Warren-promoted card in North America, showcasing world heavyweight contenders Derek “Del Boy” Chisora and Tyson Fury in separate bouts, live from Copper Box Arena in London, UK.

    “We are excited to present our first pay-per-view broadcast in the U.S. market,” said Leonard Asper, president and CEO of Anthem Media Group Inc., the parent company of Fight Network. A U.S. expansion has always been a major priority.

  • Top LA Fighters Meet Fans At Heroes Boxing Event

    More than thirty professional boxers gathered before a lively crowd on Saturday for the fourth annual “Boxing Superstars” meet-and-greet event presented by Heroes Boxing Sponsorship Agency.

    Hundreds of excited fans enjoyed the rare opportunity to see their favorite fighters, get autographs and pose for photos. The free public event, hosted by the city of Pico Rivera, also featured boxing demonstrations and prize giveaways. (more…)

  • Trad TKO Star-Studded Boxing Event For Charity February 22

    For the past few years, the Trad TKO Boxing Gym has held an annual Boxers & Celebrities Charity Football Tournament, in Aid of the Indee Rose Trust, however, due to being let down on a venue in 2013, the illustrious team at East London fight factory had to rethink their fund raising efforts for this extremely worthwhile cause, that provides support for children who have been diagnosed with a brain or spinal tumor.

    Gym partners Johnny Eames and Gianluca Di Caro brainstormed with some of the regular supporters and participants of the Football Tournament, one suggested a Boxing Tournament, featuring some of the Trad TKO old boys and their rivals. (more…)

  • New York Fire Department Team Faces Off Against Elite Dublin Garda

    On Thursday March 6, the FDNY Bravest Boxing Team will host the Garda Boxing Club from Dublin in the “Downtown Donnybrook” at Webster Hall in NYC.

    The Garda Boxing Club is made up of members of the National Irish Police Force. This event will feature 12 bouts of exciting amateur boxing between the two clubs. The event poster and official FDNY press release is attached.

    The Bravest Boxing team believes in raising money for charity through spirited competition. Their motto is to “fight anyone, anywhere, anytime….as long as it’s for a good cause”. (more…)

  • Ex-Amateur Star Sarah Knight Set For Pro Debut

    Promoter Dave Murphy today announced that he has signed former amateur European Union Bronze medalist Sarah Knight to his ever growing stable of boxers.

    Mr. Murphy also took the opportunity to announce that Sarah will be making her professional debut on the upcoming Acourtier Events promoted “Warzone” event at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London on Saturday March 1.

    New Malden based Sarah, who boxed as an amateur under her maiden name Sarah Alderman, has racked up numerous accolades during her stellar career, including winning the English ABAs in 2007. (more…)

  • Big Names Dominate Irish Amateur Open Youth Championships Final

    AIBA World Junior champions Willie Donoghue and Ciara Ginty both claimed Irish belts at the Open Youth Championships finals at Dublin’s National Stadium tonight.
