    Before undefeated Danny “Swift” Garcia (31-0, 18 KOs) and former world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (33-3-1, 18 KOs) face-off in a 12-round welterweight showdown on Saturday, January 23 at Staples Center in Los Angeles they met Wednesday for a press conference at the Conga Room at L.A. Live to formally announce their prime time battle.

    Prolific Nicaraguan promoter Marcelo Sanchez’ Pinolero Boxing offers up another superb fight card this Saturday, Dec. 5, following on the heels of its 100th boxing promotion show.

    Highlighting the fight card is a rubber match between 21-year-old Nicaraguan prospect Junior Ramirez (13-1, 9 KOs) versus David Bency (7-5, 3 KOs).

    Ramirez is the World Boxing Youth Silver Super Lightweight Champion who was undefeated and scheduled to defend his title last month in Monte Carlo. However, he was upset by a fighter he had previously beaten, Bency, in their rematch. (more…)

    In front of a big crowd at the Dartmouth Sportsplex in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, local hero Tyson Cave secured the WBU Super Bantamweight Championship with a sensational second round knockout of tough late replacement Walter Rojas.

  • Erislandy Lara Defends Title By Stopping Durable Jan Zaveck

    Super welterweight world champion and Cuban sensation Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (22-2-2, 13 KOs) successfully defended his title against former world champion and Slovenian Jan Zaveck (35-4, 19 KOs) in a Premier Boxing Champions on ESPN show from Miami’s Hialeah Park Racing & Casino.

    Due to weather in the area, the main event was moved up to ensure the fight happened. From the opening bell, Lara controlled the action by landing heavy blows. In the third round, the ref stopped the action with Zaveck against the ropes, unable to continue. The ref called a stop to the fight at :41 into the third round. (more…)

    After his impressive second-round stoppage of Sergio “Cuatito” Lopez (19-10-1, 13 KOs) last Friday night at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, undefeated blue-chip featherweight prospect Toka “T-Nice” Kahn-Clary (17-0, 11 KOs) has officially graduated from an eight to ten-round fighter.

    “My performance was good,” Kahn-Clary looked back on his knockout of Lopez. “I didn’t do anything to make it a difficult fight. I was a little concerned that my opponent came in overweight [128 lbs contract weight but Lopez weighed 132.2 lbs], but I didn’t think too much of it. (more…)

  • Mitchell Gets WBA Interim Title Shot Against KO Artist Barroso

    Kevin Mitchell will face Ismael Barroso for the WBA Interim Lightweight title at The O2 in London on December 12, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

    The clash takes Mitchell back to the scene of his epic WBC title clash with Jorge Linares in May and the popular Londoner will need to be at his very best at the sold-out venue against the visitor.
