No jab he doesnt box no speed he just tries to stand and bomb. Shane needs to retire he looks a shell. Mayorga wouldnt have won a round against prime Mosley who was losing that fight by a mile. At his peak he would have punched Cotto all over the ring its a shame when we know a Mosley 5yrs ago would have demolished Cotto and Mayorga.

    Please retire Shane.

Mosley has become to dependant on power. He seems to still have his boxing skills. But doesn't use them as much. He'll rather trade instead. I agree it's time for him to go. Margarito would knock him out if they fight

Mosley did look pretty ragged earlier, but I dont think Margarito would knock him out though. Might well outwork this version of Mosley, but I have a tough time imagining Mosley out for the count.

Whilst Mosley did'nt look his prime last night, he certainly isn't as bad as some boxers who carried on too long.

I still think its time for him to retire, although if he would have produced a big display last night then one final big fight would have been worth taking.

Can't see him getting it though

He fought the same/ similar fight against Cotto following him and looking for the big punch whilst being mostly ineffective.

When has Shane ever been fantatsic above Welter?
Light Middle is not his weight, I'll bet he looks better in a Welter fight.

Guys take it easy. Shane was originally a lightweight and at this stage of his career he beats a Light Middle, not tooooooo shabby.

    Good post

Before we all write off Shane Mosley lets remember that at 154 the only time hes looked good was against Vargas in the rematch

Styles make fights and Shane has always struggled to settle into his boxing after a poor start like against Cruz and Wright 1 . Maoyorgas style is ugly and Shane was never gona shine against him unless he had the power to hurt him early like Tito and Oscar . Vernon lacked that 1 shot power and he failed to look good vs Mayorga too .

I say this is nothing new with Shane. It was a poor performance but againsy a style that allows him to box, as we saw vs Collazo he can look sweet as sugar . Last night he went for 1 shot fire power and it almost backfired but the end result was Mosley by impressive K.O.

He fights different fighters differently, remember how slow he looked against Vargas? Well I do. I never though he would be able to keep up with Collazo. I think he needs to fight these bigger boys like this. I don't think Mosley is that much worse then he was 5 years ago. People aren't giving enough credit to these other guys, and they are giving Mosley too much credit.

Right.I think the styles,or lack there of last night played a major role.Granted,Mosley is not the lightning fast accurate phenom he was years ago but adapted against a VERY physical, awkward & much larger brawler last night. In some ways ,he was dealing as much with Mayorgas shoulders, tackles, mashing & clashing style as he was his gloved fist's.He did look to time Mayorgas mistakes a great deal as opposed to coming behind a jab and creating openings but some of those opening were there and inviting already .He closed the show in championship fashion after a very physical fight.

Im not saying Mosley is reinvented and going to reclaim a Title tomorrow, his tomorrows are limited and he should choose his swan song carefully but he is far from being a downhill ineffective fighter taking beatings..........BUT,he should look elsewhere when it comes to Margarito and a Williams

The Mosley that boxed and moved against Collazo looked great. Now he just tries to bomb everything.

Mosley tries to beat fighters at their own game. He doesn't box against a slugger, he slugs with them. He boxes against boxers. I don't know why he does it but that's what he does.

He looked great against Collazo cause he fought Collazo's style, better than Collazo.

Collazo also broke his hand. But when Shane boxes he looks great he boxed against Vargas and looked super.
