Will Hatton be an all time great?
Ricky has now said that its two more fights then out.. I think he will beat paulie easily to be honest, and then that leave Pac or Oscar... For me it has to be Pac, Oscar is too big and a win over pac now would do more for Rickys status...
Just wondered, if he fights and beats both Paulie and Pac then retires, would you consider him an all time great?
He has only ever lost once to the P4P no.1 so no discrase there, and has beat everyone he could ov at 140.. i think its a pitty that the 140 division has gone a bit dry since Cotto, mayweather etc moved up.. Ricky just cant cut it at 147 and i honestly feel that Hatton could ov beat cotto at 140 and certainly given Mayweather a better fight.

A win over Pacquiao would do his career a lot of good but despite Hatton's good record i don't think that much of his wins to be honest, look at all his best wins and they all have something in common they were all past there best. Even with a win over Pacquiao im not sure i would call him an ATG.

He will go down as one of the best 140lb fighters ever and as one of the nicest guys in boxing.
am i the only one that thinks Hatton would make a good addition to any announce team when he does retire.

well no one was sayin Tsyu was past his best before the fight really, he has been inactive but come on..
you could have the same sort of argument about say Hopkins that all his best wins were against blown up welter weights.. he still won!

Well im not going to debate the Tszyu issue i have gone through it too many times, all im saying is look at all of Hatton's wins closely name me one good fighter he beat that was in there prime ?? except Collazo and even that was controversial.

Hatton will get another shot at the p4p number 1 but next time I think he will win by K.O . This status cuz its not very often the top p4p fighter gets dominated and knocked out in their prime

It is a tough one, if he had left Warren a few years ago and got himself into the world scene earlier he would have been as long as he stuck to 140lbs, the problem that he is not flexible and can only really be at his best at 140lbs will hinder him as the ATG's tended to be able to switch weights and not have many problems, but in saying that Marvin Hagler took 6-7 years before he really stepped up to the top fighters.
I think in the UK he will always be regarded as an ATG but on the world scene they haven't seen enough of him for him to be really remembered.

UK ATG I think is his limit, and a good fighter worldwide, harsh cause I think he deserves more but Warren didn't get him the fights, like Calzaghe only now is he fighting the top names and getting recognition, beating a 43 year old Hopkins and a 39 year old Jones, probably won't get him up as high as he deserves as he spent most of his career fighting opponents who weren't world class.

Wait to the likes of VD get on and they`ll tell you all hatton is a washed up bum who doesnt even class as a good boxer.
In reality though he is probably closer to becoming a hall of famer than he has ever been.
He has beaten everyone he has ever fought barring PBF. The CV doesnt lie. He has been fighting and beaten world championship opposition since 2004 and has only come a cropper in that time once.
If he gets beat by manny at 140 id seriously have to rethink this, but for now he deserves to be in there just as much as anyone!!

He wont go down as an all time great,he'll go down as 1 of the best fighters that britain has produced and the biggest crowd puller in the fight scence today.

True but they are hardly a Vilches, Stewart or a Tackie. Tszyu was a great win, Castillo was a great win (Even if he wasn't really a Light Welterweight), Collazo and Urango are not really big names. And as for Cotto he is not finished yet, he is not saying he has only 2 fights left, he will fight a lot more top fighters before he retires, if he retired now for me he wouldn't be regarded as an ATG either. Even if he has beaten the likes of Paulie, Torres, etc he has fought at a higher level than Hatton for longer, he fought Maussa in his 18th fight, N'Dou 20th, Branco, Bailey, Quintana, Urkal etc Hatton can't really boast the same quality

you cant really say that tsyu or castllio were shot, because to be frank you just dont know.. Its very unfair to discredit hattons win over tsyu, he was world champion and a p4p fighter, simple as!

I can say Castillo was shot just look at his last fight prior to the Hatton one and tell me he didn't look like a shot fighter ?? Castillo had no business at Jr Welterweight in the first place and he didn't deserve the win against Ngoudjo, as for Tszyu i told you i didn't want to debate this and you brung it up again when i never mentioned Tszyu i was on about Miguel Cotto. But since you keep brining it up i never said Tszyu was a shot fighter but he was past his best, he was 35 years old, he had injuries prior to the bout, and he only had like 3 fights in 4 years or something similar to that. No doubt it was a good win for Hatton but Tszyu was past his best days and im sorry nothing you can say, can make me think otherwise.
