He wont go down as an all time great,he'll go down as 1 of the best fighters that britain has produced and the biggest crowd puller in the fight scence today.
I can say Castillo was shot just look at his last fight prior to the Hatton one and tell me he didn't look like a shot fighter ?? Castillo had no business at Jr Welterweight in the first place and he didn't deserve the win against Ngoudjo, as for Tszyu i told you i didn't want to debate this and you brung it up again when i never mentioned Tszyu i was on about Miguel Cotto. But since you keep brining it up i never said Tszyu was a shot fighter but he was past his best, he was 35 years old, he had injuries prior to the bout, and he only had like 3 fights in 4 years or something similar to that. No doubt it was a good win for Hatton but Tszyu was past his best days and im sorry nothing you can say, can make me think otherwise.

I haven't taken anything personally i just didn't want to debate this Tszyu situation again, because i have debated it 100's of times. Thats the basis for your argument that the bookie's had Tszyu as the favorite ?? they have been wrong many times, they had Tszyu as the favorite purely because Hatton had never shown the kind of form in previous fights which he did against Tszyu, plus Hatton had never been in with a world class fighter before the Tszyu bout.
Im quite sure if you were willing to be this picky you would also have to throw into question a number of world class fighters and previous opposition.
What people never mention with ricky is the way he was knocking out guys who had been the distance with the likes of tszyu/mitchell 2 years before he got the shot at Tszyu
What you never hear is how well fighters like juan urango and collazo have done since being beaten by hatton and how the apparently shot castillo who didnt wanna fight has gone on to fight since then already!!
one dangerous horrible bloke
Urango got a robbery decision when he won the title, anyone who watched the fight knew he shouldn't of even had the title he was a paper champion. And all Urango has done since the Hatton fight is beat the goodish Vilches, again what has Collazo done since the Hatton fight ?? he got dominated by Mosley and in his last fight went the distance with a 9-4 fighter.
The answer is a simple no. Hatton will never, ever be an All Time Great. I don't care what his groupies and concubines say
If Hatton fights and beats the smaller Pacman does he really get the recognition he seeks? I don't believe he retires after two more fights anyway, he is not yet 30 and still to much money in it for him to give it away just yet.
Do what Tszyu did and unify the title at 140lb, you can only beat who they put in front of you and if that includes Pacquaio then his legacy is assured.
Wait to the likes of VD get on and they`ll tell you all hatton is a washed up bum who doesnt even class as a good boxer.
In reality though he is probably closer to becoming a hall of famer than he has ever been.
He has beaten everyone he has ever fought barring PBF. The CV doesnt lie. He has been fighting and beaten world championship opposition since 2004 and has only come a cropper in that time once.
If he gets beat by manny at 140 id seriously have to rethink this, but for now he deserves to be in there just as much as anyone!!
one dangerous horrible bloke
True but they are hardly a Vilches, Stewart or a Tackie. Tszyu was a great win, Castillo was a great win (Even if he wasn't really a Light Welterweight), Collazo and Urango are not really big names. And as for Cotto he is not finished yet, he is not saying he has only 2 fights left, he will fight a lot more top fighters before he retires, if he retired now for me he wouldn't be regarded as an ATG either. Even if he has beaten the likes of Paulie, Torres, etc he has fought at a higher level than Hatton for longer, he fought Maussa in his 18th fight, N'Dou 20th, Branco, Bailey, Quintana, Urkal etc Hatton can't really boast the same quality
