Roger and Sr: Cotto pulled a no mas!
Graham Houston spoke to them both following the fight and this is their opinion :-
"I'm gonna tell you what happened here" Mayweather snr says "Anytime a fighter gets tired, it turns them into a coward."
"What happened with Cotto is he started layin' on the ropes because he wasn't in tip-top...tip top shape. Cotto was doing good but he ran outta gas."
"There was too much pressure on him... He's got some NO MAS in him !"
"He retreated. He went down on one knee on his own and that's a sign of retreat. 'I dont want no more'. Said Floyd Snr.
"Little Floyd has got better legs, better skills and would make Margarito miss a lot. He fought tall fighters in Corrales and De La Hoya and it mean't nothin. Floyd has that defence which Margarito ain't gettin' through. Believe me Margarito ain't seen a defence like Floyd. Floyd would hit him harder than Cotto and let me tell you this, Floyd ain't no Cotto- he wouldn't quit. "
"And where Cotto slowed down, Floyd wouldn't slow down. He'd keep banging him."
"It would be a rugged fight. But it's a fight that Floyd would win. It ain't because he's my son I say that as we don't get along, I'm saying it because that's what I believe."
Roger Mayweather had his own comments to make; " Cotto can't box and he is one handed anyway, the left hand. He has got no chin and I told all the other boxers in the gym that Cotto was going to get knocked out".
"Cotto said he had no excuses, but i tell you one thing he ain't sayin: 'Let me fight that mothf*cker again.' He got his ass whipped."
At least Cotto had the guts to fight Tony :p
Re: Roger and Sr: Cotto pulled a no mas!
i hate to say it but i think hes right on most things cotto should have been more in shape he should have been ready to go all 12 rounds maybe he should have sparred a little more against bigger partners i think it would have helped more

He has some good points!
Re: Roger and Sr: Cotto pulled a no mas!
Top top class fighters should be able to go 15 hard fought rounds if they want to cut it with the elite.
Reason why i and my mates all had so much money on toni stopping him was a his dodgy chin, but mainly coz the he tires badly...
Look at pretty much every 12 round fight wtih except the urkal one and you see cotto slipping in the later rounds and letting the other guy in, toni never stops and was in the end going to break him.

Can't box? I disagree. Cotto has the jab, punching power, body punch, etc. As for the chin, defense, stamina, etc. That, he can improve.

Yep! He ain't saying that so far and it makes a lot of sense why.

But didn’t have the guts to fight Mayweather ;) .

Comparing fatigue to a coward? Is he selling his drugs or is he smoking his shiet and not making a profit again?

Didn't Israel Vazquez quit after the seventh round against Rafael Marquez becuase Israel Vazquez was unable to breath due to a broken nose? I guess this also makes Israel Vazquez a coward and a fighter who can't go twelve rounds, right?

There was a whole hell of a lot of pressure. He was a cunt hair away from getting knocked out. Floyd would have ran all night from Tony and Floyd would have landed one or two pop shot's per round if that.

This dumbazz can say all he wants but it was little Floyd who never wanted anything to do with Antonio Margarito, so much so, that Floyd retired because of his fear of Tony.

Against an OLD Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd may have hit Oscar 25 times the entire fight. You call that banging? One of thee most boring over priced fights I have ever seen.

It would be an easy fight for Antonio Margarito and that is why Floyd did not want to fight Tony.

Cotto can box. He was boxing Tony's head off, there are so many great clips from that fight, that it would take me months to put them all down on video, as you can see the video I made was only rounds 1 & 2 because I did not have enough time by YouTube's standards to add anything more. 100 MBS the limit but I will finish it as time permits. It would take me a day to put together a best of Floyd vs Hatton/ODLH there is nothing but that one lucky punch knock out. Cotto is for the most part a one handed fighter but he used more Combos in this fight than Floyd has in his last 4 fights. Cotto has a pretty good chin. Cintron was knocked out in 7? It's not the chin that failed Cotto, it was Tony's relentless body attack and the broken nose that slowed Cotto down. No excuses, that is a fact CHINO.

There will be a rematch! Cotto is going to fight the man who Floyd is scared shitless of again. Floyd is still hidding, I bet Floyd is somewhere in China right about now. Floyd is not only a coward, he is now a punk where his own friends are just walking into his house and taking his shiet. ;D
Re: Roger and Sr: Cotto pulled a no mas!
lol at the people saying Cotto wasnt in shape.
Biggest fight of his life and he wasnt in shape? common man what next, the ropes were loose?

Houston should have asked Daddy why Little Floyd ducked fighting Margarito. I know. Cause he knew if he fought tony he'd get same treatment as Cotto cept Floyd would quit sooner

Don't bet on it bud just because Antonio Margarito defeated Miguel Cotto doesn't erase his flaws like his slow movement, slow handspeed, wide punches, and with Floyd Mayweather being an excellent counter puncher aswell as a good mover and having great defense he should clearly outbox Antonio Margarito over 12 rounds.

Floyd would run all night, no doubt, but he'd do what Cotto didn't do.. WIN THE FIGHT!! No where in that article did they say he'd stand toe to toe with Tony, they said he wouldn't tire (which is true)..

Boring is irrelevant.. the game is hit and not get hit, and win fights.. this is what Floyd does.. you can bet your last penny that if other boxers were as talented and athletic as Floyd then they would use his defensive tactics also.. It's only logical.. would I rather block with my gloves and absorb shots, or not get hit at all.. REAL tough question.. No doubt has Floyd had some "boring" fights, but he wins, and when people in the future talk about him they can only label him unbeaten.. They can't say the same for Cotto.
yes an OLD De La Hoya, but Corrales was 33-0, with something like 26-27 KO's.. Comparable in height and reach to Tony, with a TON of power and SEVENTEEN POUNDS LIGHTER.. I'd say that's pretty damn comparable to Tony.. The only difference is Corrales was chinny, and clearly that is not the case for margarito.. regardless Corrales had more speed than Tony, and he couldn't touch Floyd.. the only difference in the fight would be that it would go 12 and he wouldn't TKO him.
Re: Roger and Sr: Cotto pulled a no mas!
Like it or not, the Predator and his balding brother have some good points. I dont agree with the assessment of Cotto being a coward though, I think he had a just cause to give in

To be honest i don't find many of Floyd Mayweather's fights boring only a few like Carlos Baldomir fight but other than that he usually entertaining check out his wars with Jesus Chavez, Phillip Ndou.
Re: Roger and Sr: Cotto pulled a no mas!
It reminds me of when a group of guys come home alone from a bar explaining to the one guy who actually had the courage to make a move on the hot chick all the things he did did wrong and how they would have succeeded if they had tried. Sometimes it's easier to sleep at night telling yourself I could have done it 'IF'. Instead of having the balls to take a chance and risk failure.
Cotto - Margarito was one of the few pay per views I've gotten in the last couple of years that at the end of the night even my wife didn't think I wasted my money. There are fighters and then there are warriors. For anyone outside the ring to point out flaws in either's performance is pointless to me.

oh, i agree completely with you.. that's why i put "boring" in quotations.. that is how people describe him, i feel completely different..
undefeated, 5 class world champ, previously the undisputed P4P #1 in the world, oh and rich as hell..
you could call me whatever you want.. i'm doing something right.

so what you're saying is that sports analysts, in general, are pointless.. We all on this forum, are pointless..
right..
that was a pretty bad comparison.. I mean, first off most sports analyst's used to be boxers.. most trainers used to be boxers.. a lot of people on this forum, are boxers or have boxed..
with the whole trying to get a girl comparison, chances are if you're criticizing someone for their attempt to get a girl, you would at least have some credibility. meaning, you, yourself have gotten girls or at least have attempted to get girls.. otherwise who cares what you are talking about.. If some fag told me that i'm terrible at getting girls, then i have something to say about that..
But lets face it Roger Mayweather had a pro career.. Floyd Mayweather had a pro career.. and i don't think everyone on this board is a fag (see what i did there ;)).. Needless to say both mayweathers, and the majority of posters on here, have plenty of knowledge of the sport, and aren't pointless.. otherwise, why did you sign up to this site? just to keep posting the same comparison in every thread? If you posted anything relevant to a boxer you'd be a hipocrite.. no?
