There was a whole hell of a lot of pressure. He was a cunt hair away from getting knocked out. Floyd would have ran all night from Tony and Floyd would have landed one or two pop shot's per round if that.
Floyd would run all night, no doubt, but he'd do what Cotto didn't do..
WIN THE FIGHT!! No where in that article did they say he'd stand toe to toe with Tony, they said he wouldn't tire (which is true)..
Against an OLD Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd may have hit Oscar 25 times the entire fight. You call that banging? One of thee most boring over priced fights I have ever seen.
Boring is irrelevant.. the game is hit and not get hit, and win fights.. this is what Floyd does.. you can bet your last penny that if other boxers were as talented and athletic as Floyd then they would use his defensive tactics also.. It's only logical.. would I rather block with my gloves and absorb shots, or not get hit at all.. REAL tough question.. No doubt has Floyd had some "boring" fights, but he wins, and when people in the future talk about him they can only label him unbeaten.. They can't say the same for Cotto.
yes an OLD De La Hoya, but Corrales was 33-0, with something like 26-27 KO's.. Comparable in height and reach to Tony, with a TON of power and SEVENTEEN POUNDS LIGHTER.. I'd say that's pretty damn comparable to Tony.. The only difference is Corrales was chinny, and clearly that is not the case for margarito.. regardless Corrales had more speed than Tony, and he couldn't touch Floyd.. the only difference in the fight would be that it would go 12 and he wouldn't TKO him.
