"roach admits fear in marquez trilogy"
The Propaganda to have you buy this fight has begun.....
Even the author is full of cow pie with his opening paragraph.
Insider Notebook: Roach Admits Fear in Marquez Trilogy - Boxing News
Re: "roach admits fear in marquez trilogy"
I'm not so sure about reverse psychology, but I think Roach knows he needs to say certain things to build up interest for some fights and this is another prime example. I guess the hype begins now.
Re: "roach admits fear in marquez trilogy"
"roach admits he fears people will criticize the fight so he does his best to promote it"
Re: "roach admits fear in marquez trilogy"
Manny Pacquiao Vs A stuffed Animal
Freddie Roach says 'We can't take this opponant lightly, those stuffed animals are very dangerous. They have you belive that their cute and cuddley and a childs best friend, but believe me Manny is going to have to be in top form to beat this guy.'
Re: "roach admits fear in marquez trilogy"
My question would be
Why fight marquez now, after he's aged a bit been through more tough fights including a humilation from mayweather, when you could have done this years ago when marquez was still prime?

Haha, is that a serious question?
You know why he has been selected and was prepared even before Mosley was done over. Marquez is the perfect Pacquiao opponent. Had there been some give in the weight I would have given it a chance, but as it stands, the fight is a hoax. You fight him when he is old and then call him to duty two weights above the weight he is decent at?
My 140 proposal is fair. This is a farce.

A catchweight of 145 isn't all that bad, miles old boy, it's not like when Marquez fought Mayweather who was a much bigger man, Pac and JMM would be closer to the same size. I mean the catchweight of 145 might be a small advantage for Pacquiao, but I don't see 'weight' making a huge difference or being all that significant in this fight.
For what it's worth, I believe Pacquiao demolishes Marquez, whether it's at 140 or 145, it's not going to be any 'weight' issue that's going to be Marquez's main problem.

The Mayweather CW was the same thing. It is to lure Marquez in and stop him and for Manny to say "There you go Floyd I could stop him at this weight, but you couldn't!". It is bullshit.

I kind doubt that the things Pacquiao and his camp do in re: Marquez, have a fucking thing to do with Mayweather.

Bingo! Given Mannny's linguistic limitations and his mild personality, Freddie has long played the role of the mouth in fight promotion.

But getting Manny to weigh-in at 140 has no impact. It means Manny foregoes a meal and doesn't drink for 12 hours. He makes it without any strain. I think your idea fails unless the fight is at 135. I think 140 or 144 is the same fight.
BTW I LOVE debating mutually unprovable ideas ;)

The goal is to beat people Mayweather beat and do it in better fashion....of course after Floyd crushed them mentally by beating them to begin with. Marquez is the exception. Floyd didn't crush the warriors spirit.
But after Manny Ko's him it will be a Pactard new line to use against Floyd.
P.S. your previous post before this one was dead on! I agree 100% with you. 140 or 145 or any weight Pac wins easy. But it's about making it a fair contest so that it's exciting. Manny goes in and it's won on the contract, scale and everything else before it begins.

His actual calorie intake is over 7,000 it just means he doesn't have to eat 1200 Chicken Nuggets....He can eat 600. Either way gives him more time to do other things then the 12 hours he probably spends at the dinner table each day.
Why do people act like its hard for Manny to make 140? He weighs in at 143-144 and that's after clearing out a buffet table 7 times a day. He probably makes 135 with ease
Re: "roach admits fear in marquez trilogy"
Roach is building the hype, I am not a fan of this fight, Floyd should never have fought JMM at this weight and neither should Pac.
