Who has a George Foreman grill?
For a number of years I used a tefal grill. It was one of those single layer ones where you put the meat on and have to turn it over to cook it evenly on both sides. Anyway, earlier this year I got a George Foreman grill and I have to say that I have developed serious feelings for it. I love the way it cooks things so quickly and how you don't need to spend too much time turning things over.
I grilled up some sausages earlier and they were done in about 5 minutes. The old grill required constant tending and would take a good 10 minutes. I am so grateful for the George Foreman grill and the convenience it provides. It's also easy to clean which makes the wife very happy too.
So, in perhaps the most exciting poll ever devised here at Saddoboxing, I have decided to find out how many other enlightened souls there are out there.... it is my quest to discover who else owns one of these grilling marvels?

Pork chops are great! I haven't eaten them in years though because the butchers here cut up the meat into horrible shapes that just don't look right at all.
I actually did grill some pork last week and that turned out horribly. But that was a pork steak type thing. The meat was cut too thin really and it was dry and tasteless. I had to throw it away, but I will not blame my George Foreman grill for that misadvendure. ;D
I especially like to throw on steaks (beef), chicken and sausages. They have very rarely gone wrong. And I always add a bit of onion for a laugh.

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
I have one and love it. I cook chicken breast on it all the time. My only complaint is its a bitch to clean. I need to upgrade and get the one that the grilling things come off so its easier to clean.
-
Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
Yep, I do, and I love it.
I pretty much only use mine for burgers, hot dogs, and smoked kielbasa though. I prefer to use my real grill for steaks, lamb chops, and chicken.
Since I don't get home until late, and usually don't eat dinner until 8:30-9:00, this is perfect for quick meals.
I as well though, need to get the bigger one with removable plates next time.

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
George should make a George foreman grill for on dudes teeth too.

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
Did nobody notice my "I don't know" option on the poll? I was rolling around on the floor for hours after adding that!
Do you own a George Foreman grill? I don't know. ;D
Okay, maybe it wasn't that funny. I guess I'm having one of those days.

That is quite bizarre, Andre! ;D

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
I got one too. It's very convenient but it does make the food come out pretty dry. I used it a lot back in the day but eventually the excitement died down for me.

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
We have 2 of them, and they have been used to my knowledge the combined amount of 2 times. Strange really, because I remember thinking to myself the time I used it, this is pretty awesome while cooking up a piece of chicken quickly, but never again did.
I think the reason largely is there is little other benefit to it, especially if you have other forms of bbq available. We have both a gas bbq I use frequently and a wood burning one. The wood one is more of a pit and often runs all day long during the summer, but more because we are close to water and it is kinda cool to huddle in front of it after swimming during the day, or just nice to sit in front of at night. Can't exactly huddle in front of the George? :dontknow:

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
Remember when they came out and bought a couple as Christmas gifts for co-workers.Got pretty messed up night prior to work party and unwrapped one and had a late night cook up.Not too shabby.Bought em a PJ's giftcard and two chia pets instead.

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
i think there should have been an option for 'had one, then lost/sold it' as this would have more accurately reflected my george foreman grill situation.

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
Someone voted "I don't know" so I'm now well chuffed! ;D
I grilled up some marinaded lamb chops in red wine sauce today and they were splendid. I must have eaten a good half a kilo of sheep and that's not including the bones. I turned the rest of the sauce into a gravy that went really well.
I love my George Foreman grill.

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
The real question is who does not have one?
-
Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
Yeah we got one. It lives in a cupboard with the food processor and slow cooker.
-
Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
What the hell? Ressurecting this thread to point out Miles horrible thread creating abilities? This is thrilling stuff guys.
-
Yeah got one I use it too !! I use my slow cooker at least twice a week and my bread maker just to mix the dough for khubz which is Arabic bread that takes hrs otherwise !! Use my blender to make bissbass another Arabic thing really easy but u need a blender ... Use my jucier for the kids only thing I don't use is the rice steamer thing because I threw the instructions and don't no how lol
-
Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
Ah now thats one I couldnt do without, love the rice maker, perfect every time.
-
I do mine in my big pan perfect everytime lol ;) you know what I really want !? An electric can opener
-
Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
To be fair the food processor is now out of the dusty cupboard and used quite regularly for salads. I want to get a new one as its a bit old and no matter what blade is used it does like to smash the food to bits rather than slice.
I am getting quite handy with knife though so I do find finely slicing up some salad satisfying.
No Contest is right, this is sad a fook ;D

It's funny. I know how rice is 'supposed' to look. And yes my rice cooker does make rice look perfect but to be honest, I like my rice like how you see it in the band aid videos...All clumped and stodgy.
Few kidney beans, bit of coconut milk, lovely!

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
I cant cook rice in a pan to save my life. The have the Uncle Bens pouches now so its improved.
-
Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
What a timely thread revival, I just got a new George Foreman grill as the old one was getting old. And this one was half the cost! What a bargain. My sausages cost more than this bloody grill.
George Foreman grill for life! I love the little bastard!

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
Whats the next thread gonna be Miles? What kind of cooking oil do you use? How do you like your eggs cooked? Cant wait.

Lean, mean, grilling machine!
(until it gets all scratched and shit gets stuck to it)

I am seemingly a creature of extremes. Either it is serene gay threads like this or more provocative ones that upset people. I struggle to find the happy medium. My electric toothbrush thread was a bone fide classic.

It has to be said Miles. When you are not slating the Jews or telling us how much you loath your adopted homeland, you are one tediously dull man. :)

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
Speaking of the George Foreman grill. In Foreman's last pro fight with Shannon Briggs, he wasn't upset at all in a fight that everyone thought he won, but he was busy advertising his grill instead. lol

At the 6:10 mark where Larry Merchant is interviewing him and he doesn't care at all that he lost just busy trying to sell his grill.;D

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
I love my George Foreman grill, use it regularly. Just got a Yoshii blade knife, too.

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
The George Foreman grill is fantastic. One of the top 10 best inventions IMO.

I must confess that there is part of me that loves to do nothing more than cook sausages on a grill. I did it today and made a sausage sandwich with a dash of ketchup. It isn't awe inspiring, but it sure satisfies that empty belly and all prepared in about 7 minutes thanks to the mighty George Foreman. 7 minutes for a lunch, just brilliant really.

A good quality extra virgin olive oil for salads, olive oil for cooking with. Like a nice poached egg with an exploding yolk but a lot has to be said for a good old fashioned fried egg on toast with runny yolk and brown sauce.
:-X

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
We own a really nice one. And the Rib used to cook with it often. Seems I haven't been asked to get it off the shelf in a couple years though. Guess she has found other means.

I have a nicer dicer too !! :)

Re: Who has a George Foreman grill?
I've got a George Foreman grill, they're awesome. I actually had a George Foreman grill related dream last night. I was walking through Newcastle, and when I got to Northumberland Street there was several stalls promoting the George Foreman grill. Big George was there himself, and after walking past and admiring the grills several times I decided to ask him for a photo. The bastard said no because it was too cold  So I walked away dejectedly towards Uni where I was attacked by a disabled lecturer. Very strange dream actually.
But yeah the George Foreman grill rules
