I never want t see a fighter go longer than he should but I question Roach stopping the fight; Grry was fighting hard in soe of that round and didn't seem hurt. Probably a good stoppage I guess; glad I wasn't the one neding to make a decision like that. Damn good fight. Lopez is a terror and what more can one say about the depth of gameness showed by Penalosa?
I should have said I never want to see a fighter go longer than necessary and get hurt, unless it's Kermit Cintwrong.;D

I gotta disagree. Penalosa showed great heart and chin, but he was going to get seriously hurt. He ate 84 power punches in round 8, that's fucking obscene. I'd be unconscious if my 12 yr old niece landed that many power punches on me. Penalosa landed some serious shots on Lopez and never phased him. The stoppage was justified and a bit late IMO.Quote:

Andrade - Froch is close to a pick'em IMO, but I side with Andrade. And Andrade would absoluletly ruin Allan Green who's biggest claim to fame is beating up on mediocre fighters.
Andrade has yet to win a significant fight, he always comes up short, although the Bute loss was obviously bitterly controversial.
I'd put Andrade on a level similar to Sakio Bika, a tough tough fighter but not quite good enough to be a world champ. Froch would beat him, in my respectful opinion of course.
And you seriously underate Alan Green, he's going to be making a lot of noise over the next 18 months. ;)

I don't think he's a bad fighter, though I very much dislike him, but he's level of opposition is extremely unimpressive so far. He could prove me wrong, but until he does my opinion of him will not change.
Oh, and I think Bute outboxes Froch handily. Potentially stopping him.

I was thinking of making the colon joke, but I figured you'd do a better job of it.
He gets credit for getting up and taking it to Taylor to force the stoppage. But he was pretty much everything I expected. Which wasn't much. If Taylor had any stamina or had an idea how to clinch this would of been a lopsided loss for Fraud. He would of been laughed at and bad mouthed by everybody. Including the UK.Quote:

How about James Toney when he fought Michael Nunn or Chavez against Meldrick Taylor?
It was a great win for Froch, he showed an iron resolve and the self belief of a true champ who thinks he can't be beat.
Yes he uses his face as his main form of defense but that's part of his appeal.
A KO of Jermain Taylor on his resume doesn't look bad, Bernard Hopkins and Winky Wright wern't able to do it.
Everyone praised Pavlik when he came back from being almost out in the third to Taylor to knock him out.
Why shouldn't Carl get the same credit?
I will be honest with you all. I have not seen the fight, my internet broke after the 2nd round so I had to go to my other mates house to catch the result. Sounds exactly as I thought it would go, I knew Taylor would tire down the straight and Carls power would be too much for him. How close was the fight?
