Dude, Mayweather shoudl have fought Shane instead of ODH. Clearly he should fight the man who beat ODH twice. I mean it's easy to say nwo that we have everything unfold. ODH gets beat up, Shane come off his biggest win... But I have been callign PBF adn SSM for years. Shane TKO10 if I ever get to put money on that fight.
When Mayweather signed on to fight Oscar, Oscar had just KO'ed Mayorga and Mosley had barely beaten Vargas(who Mayorga later manhandled), and even his second victory over Vargas wasn't as impressive as what Oscar did to Mayorga.
Furthermore, maybe you should watch Mosley-ODLH II again, Oscar landed like a 100 more punches, he outboxed Mosley decisively the first half of the fight, and won his fair share of the second half of the fight, his movement made it largely impossible for Mosley to effectively get off like he did in the first fight, which further makes me believe that Floyd's movement and jab would leave Mosley very disgruntled in the ring.
that fight with oscar was at 154..all that proved was that oscar's body could handle the weight better than shane...obviously because oscar has fought at 160.
That's like saying the weight at 147 for hatton didn't have an effect on him when he fought floyd...although he'd lose to floyd at anyweight point is, his skills are maximized at 140. much like shane is maxed at 147.
Floyd at 140. and fighting shane at 147 equals possible lost.

Sugar Ray Leonard fought a prime Roberto Duran, Prime Thomas Hearns, i seriously doubt he would duck Aaron Pryor.
Lastly Floyd Mayweather offered Shane Mosley the fight, but didn't Shane Mosley claim he was going on holiday or something like that ? and he turned it down.
Thats the only offer i've heard from either fighter, no one is ducking anyone and i would like to know what proof you have Floyd Mayweather ducked Shane Mosley.
Yeah, great points! I find it hard to believe Ray was afraid of Aaron when he fought all the guys you listed. Also, if Aaron really wanted Ray that badly, why didn't he move up to 147 & win a title there or at least move up to 147 & look impressive @ that weight to force a fight with Ray? Aaron fought @ 140 & below until 1985. In 1987 he fought Bobby Joe Young @ 148 & was stopped in the 7th for his only loss. Aaron was a great puncher @ 140 but Ray took the bombs Hearns threw so I think he could handle Aaron's power @ 147. Aaron was able to take the shots from Alexis (a LW moving up & past his prime) @ 140 but would Aaron have been able to take Ray's best shots (left hook) @ 147?
look at the video....pryor walk up to him and says "i beat everyone at JW i might as well come up and fight you, i want to fight"
I will, can't do that @ work. But that doesn't change the fact that if he took the best punch Hearns could throw @ him, what would Aaron have that's worse? Who knows, maybe there was a Manny/Hatton tug of war going on back then too but behind the scenes. Maybe Ray wanted a larger slice of the pie than Pryor was willing to accept.

Saying and doing is two totally different things, if Aaron Pryor really wanted the fight that bad he would of moved up. But he didn't and Sugar Ray Leonard would never move down to Jr Welterweight, because he's too big for that division.

whats the point in moving up if the guy isn't offering you the fight? which is another good question to ask...Why didn't leonard sign him to a fight and make him come up to 147?
If leonard fought "everybody" but pryor, who ended his career with one loss, why didn't he fight pryor?

so that means jack shit. SRL beat way better fighters like Benitez, Hearns who were both undefeated Champions and Duran. and just cause Pryor beats Arguello and calls out SRL that means hes ducking Pryor?? thats like that video when Margarito asks floyd to fight him ;D im sure you seen that.

he called out SRL before he fought arguello...he fought arguello because leonard and hearns wanted no part of him...so back down the emotion..its okay these guy are still just men. they can be beaten and its quite possible that there are some fighters that arent worth the risk. and pryor was one of them....Let's see..."fight pryor, for less money, but lose the aura of being unbeatable." Pryor was an amateur olympic contender and had skill margarito is no pryor...pryor was just as everybit of good and leonard, hearns, duran, and the rest of those guys from that era.

the point is like ICB said if Pryor wanted the fight he should have went up in weight thats it point made debate over.

what sense would it make to go up if leonard wasn't going to fight him, thats retarded....

yeah words don't mean shit with out action. And it makes no sense to move up to a weight division to fight other guys when he wanted leonard.
after cleaning out everyone he challenged SRL..and leonard dismissed him...so then what? move up fight a few fights with guy that aren't champ so the champ can still deny you?
Think dude, wouldnt it have been advantageous for leonard to accept the challenge and be the first man pryor would see at 147? It's all specualtion anyway, simple speculation and opinionated bullshit from a bunch of guys in a forum.
But its a fact that pryor challenged SRL as you saw for yourself in the video. When you find me a video showing leonard accepting the fight if aaron moves up then debate over. Until then the FACT is pryor challenged SRL numerous time and SRL dismissed them all without reason.

I dont have to find a video because i know it doesnt exist. the fact is that pryor did nothing but say a few words and did nothin action wise he didnt go up in weight or even bother to challenge any other guys that SRL beat. Pryor took no action in the ring if he wanted to fight Leonard make a statement in the ring thats it.

he made a statement by cleaning out his division...then challenging SRL the champ in the next division. That's common sense. Clean out the division then move up and challenge the next champ.

Like Daxx said ducked or scared aren't the right words to use. But Leonard definitely avoided Pryor!!!
Pryor was forced to move to Jr. Welter because none of the lightweights (Watt or Kenty) would fight him!
They used to be real close friends, roomed together as amatuers everywhere they went.
But Leonard became Mr Big & wanted things all business like, Pryor once said "Your making people millionaires, how about you & me make a fight?" If Ray wanted it all business it could be all business!
Leonard said it was a possibilty but never took it any further.
This is just one example that Pryor asked Leonard for a fight on numerous occassions but was always avoided for one reason or another...

Right you are Ice.
But lets also take a close look at the guy who fought and beat Benitez, Duran, Hearns, then fought Hagler coming off a three year break, and ask whether anyone could seriously believe that Leonard was afraid of Pryor. I think not. Props to the JJrFloydguy for getting poeple's attention tho.

finally someone who understands instead of just running with hype of SRL was great and could do no wrong...he was great, but he AVOIDED pryor.
