To be honest im not even sure what were discussing, or arguing about. I was good at checkers not the best in the world, nowhere near it. But i did get 2100s+ rating which is master level, but many people can get that rating. Its not like its a super hard game, its just memorizing losses and shots, and openings which is pretty easy to learn.
If i did say grandmaster then i was clearly being sarcastic, but i would say i was master level. But again thats nothing to do with Amir Khan and its completely irrelvant. And just because i was being sarcastic, doesn't mean Amir Khan was and from my memory it didn't sound like it. Again i don't really see what your trying to prove here.

I've highlighted a few bits. How can you not see the relevence here? So when YOU claimed to be a grandmaster it was just a jokey comment but when Amir said he'd like to fight Floyd in a four rounder he was being arrogant?
So when Amir upon being asked how he was taking to the pro game joked he was transitioning so well he'd even like to face Floyd Mayweather in a four rounder you found that bizarre?
But you don't find bizarre the fact that you after claiming not to be able to play chess, then after being exposed of cheating suddenly claimed an alternate childhood where you were a chess prodigy who had a coach and studied grandmaster games, although unfortunately you have since lost all memory of the games you studied and the openings you played, what with it being such a long time ago with you nearly out of your teens now and all? :confused:

This has become a very unusual thread. ;D
There is no doubt that a lot of us have gone off the deep end on comments supposedly attributed to a fighter when in fact those words have most likely been creatively twisted to fit the purposes of a journalist with an agenda. I have no doubt done it on occasions with Amir Khan and I think it was JazMerkin that corrected me once or twice on it. I have probably done it a fair bit with other fighters too. And on thinking about it, it is wrong. I should be smarter than to fall prey to a manipulative media that is constantly trying to spin things so that they get more attention than they really deserve. And often people will start a thread with the main intention of looking to stir things up and we take it at face value and jump straight into the argument. The internet is dangerous like that, information can be so easily skewed and twisted and torn out in a way it was probably never originally intended by the person the comments are being ascribed to.

There is an old expression' the more things change the more they stay the same' , I remeber reading the tabloids in the UK and taking what was in them with a pinch of salt.
Now we have the glorious internet which not only allows the 'porsessionals ' a new medium but people like all of us on here. How easy is it to get a thread going by saying'I just heard that so and so said this or that ' OK most will start to ask for the origin of the story but some will just take you at your word.
I always wait to see an interview or hear it on radio, and i always look and listen for the usual amount of creative editing, if an interview looks like it's been cut you can pretty much bet it's not entirley accurate.
I think we are all to blame by being too busy in life to look a bit deeper into things, we just do everything on the go and accept a lot of what we are told. Problem is with more specialised news such as specific sports are not going to be widely covered so we have to just accept a lot of what we are told.

His diatoms in the fossil record is NOT an example of macro evolution either. That's merely speciation something that creationists believe in as well.
Macro evolution would be that little diatom turning into something other than a diatom, not simply a different species of diatom.
You see there are two things going on here, speciation, which is the observable, provable, demonstrable adaptation of an organism to its enviroment, something which occurs all the time, and can demonstrated easily, like the diatom example Dawkins gave.
Then there is Macro evolution, which is the evolution of a completely new organism, for example, the diatom becoming something else which isn't a diatom, or a dog evolving into something else which isn't a dog.
This CANNOT happen, there is no known biological mechanism for this to happen and such tranistional fossils do not exist in the fossil record which is why Dawkins when proudly showing off his chimpanzee/human family tree was pointing to EMPTY GAPS when he was showing us our ancestors. They can't find the ancestors because macro evolution DOES NOT HAPPEN :)
