Because Margarito's defense=Mayweather's defense, right?

I think Mosley will have his moments but Floyd wins so clearly that before the fight is over people are talking about how old Mosley is. Mosley nearly lost to Mayorga a while ago, he got outboxed by Cotto. Floyd wins.
Some bold statements being made on this thread, no way am I jumping on this wagon. Floyd will dominate Mosley. As some have already said I don't think Floyd will get fair credit because I think he will make it look so easy and people will just say that Mosley was old.
Shane had all these impressive qualities when he fought, collazo, forrest, cotto, and mayorga and we see how much of an advantage he had against these guys. Collazo made him look ordinary, forrest beat his ass, cotto beat his ass again, and mayorga one of the easiest wins out there damn near beat him, and based on that he'll beat floyd ??? I'd like to see it too guys but there is little chance in damn hell shane will win. I'm not all that sure he'd have beaten berto really. Most of this hype is built off of shane beating a robotic marga cheat o after having the main weapon of his gameplan taken from him in the locker room right before the fight. With all the drama and what not going on tony had less chance than shane has. Shane will paw paw paw and "bam" get countered and battered all night. Shane brings absolutly nothing floyd hasn't seen or already beaten. A case can be conjured to make it seem any fighter can beat floyd. Hell the dude does it himself on those stupid 24/7's to make it seem like he might loose..........but we all know he never does. Awhile back shane would have a better chance although i still say he'd loose. But now he's slower, older, etc. While floyd has barely ever even been touched. Good luck to shane though, he's really reallly gonna need it.
we all know mosley aint beating floyd, be realistic now
Hope Shane catches him early and hurts him so that the fight balances out a touch.
Otherwise I think Floyd makes him look slow not because he is, but because of Floyds timing and lateral movement to counter; when Shane comes straight at him trying to use forward body movement to empathize his hand speed.
Go Shane.
Mayweather is just much to lucid in transition for Mosley, I see him winning virtually every round against any version of Mosley save for prior to say 2003. This thread definetly needs to be bumped after the fight happens imo. And don't get me wrong, it's a great fight and great for the sport, but probably moreso the latter at this point.
Lyle, I serioudly want to bet you on this one. I think Floyd is way too much for Mosley. I know we have the rep and sig bet for when Haye beats Wlad but I think we could maybe have a 1 month name change for this one if you have the stones to accept.
Good suggestion and in the ring there is no sure thing.
rjjtszyu, sure I'll accept that bet.
All I can say is STYLES MAKE FIGHTS and if Floyd had trouble with De la Hoya and he couldn't stop Zab Judah or Marquez then he's not going to hurt Shane. Shane has fast hands, he's strong, and he's got a great chin. I just don't thin Floyd has the style to bother Shane, he's not tall, he doesn't use a conventional 1-2, his defense and counterpunching are great but that alone won't get him a win over Shane.
I see where you're coming from, but IMO Shane's only chance is if what Floyds detractors say are true and that he cant handle a 'proper sized strong welter', and crumbles under sheer strength. If he can then thats one less thing people can say baout him.
Alot of people quote stuff like speed and power as if they can be quantified like in a video game, Shane still has some power but only when hi winds up noadays, and wont land those shots often enough to hurt Floyd IMO.
Another 'attribute' where a lot of people gigve credit for in Shane is his Stamina. He's shown heart and guts to dig deep late in rounds recently against Mayorga and Cotto. While he gave a lot of heat in those rounds he was winging away really unlike when Floyd is forced to the later rounds still has is balance and composure intact.
I'm goin for Floyd comfortably, maybe not causing too much damage cos lets face it even when he has a man beat like Marquez or Baldomir he doesn't go for the kill, which is less likely against a pumcher.
Lyle, the only reason Zab didn't get knocked out was because he punched Floyd in the nuts. Marquez took a whoopin', but okay, Floyd didn't knock him out. But en route to a landslide victory Floyd made an elite fighter look very bad.
Winky also doesn't use a conventional 1-2 and his defense and counterpunching are great and that DID get him a win over Shane. Height and reach didn't have a lot to do with why Shane lost. Winky doesn't fully extend the jab, he just uses it to pat you on the head and oh yeah, he didn't hurt Shane either. And now Shane's several years older and fighting a guy who is just as defensive minded as Wink, who's even more dedicated to countering.
It's been an up and down for Mosley overt the past few years although in retrospect, i can really discredit Mosley for his performances. I still see Mosley as a Top Tier fighter.
I think Mosley's last four fights against Collazo, Cotto, Mayroga and Margarito get blown out of proportion for all sorts of reasons.
I think too many people underrate Mayorgas performance. Maybe it's the awkward style of Mayorga? I give Mayorga the credit of putting up a great fight... He is a very canny fighter in a weird way. Plus he was 10 pounds bigger than Mosley that night. For some reason Mosley can't handle big guys?
But the main thing is he pulled through. It must of been almost heart breaking knowing both Tito and Oscar destroyed Mayorga yet here is this guy still there giving him.
Also, does anyone else think that Mosley would destroy Cotto in a rematch?
inflammatory comments aside... This could be a pretty straightforward win for Mosley if he just starts fast, keeps his shots straight and keeps on pressing.
I hope you are right. Shane has got to go for the body and be aggressive.
Floyd wins this going away. He doesn't have to hurt people to beat them.
