Tito, just to clarify - I bet $100 on Ortiz to KO Berto. FRom when Ortiz smashed him up in the first I thought my bet was a winner. When Ortiz made that ridiculous comeback in the 6th I thought my bet was a winner.

I ended up LOSING!!! I bet the right man but lost by betting the incorrect outcome. Hence I said the fight was the worst for me. Get it!?!? Great fight. Fact. Disappointing for my my pocket. Fact.

Not fight of the year. The first half of the fight was great, and the 6th was certainly the round of the year, but there was too much holding and inactivity in the last half. Tyson Marquez and Concepcion is still the front runner for FOTY to me. Morales vs Maidana would be next.

I agree, the first half was great, but the second half was a bit of a stink fest with the octopus man doing nothing more than punch and grab. It had echoes of Hatton/Urango except Hatton wasn't getting all that hurt against Urango.

My own view is that a FOTY ought to be just a competitive slugfest. It ought to be conducted at a high skill level. Berto's feet are absolutely atrocious and Ortiz thinks moving other than in a straight line is a felony.

On the other hand Foreman-Lyle was a FOTY IIRC.

Hell yeah it was fight of the year. 4 knockdowns were traded, and a big upset was pulled off. Tremendous fight !

ive only just watched it and i was pretty disapointed considering the reviews it was getting

it started decent

i hope there are better fights this year than maidana morales too

infact there must have already been a few

one thing i do like about that fight tho is the knockdown at the end of the 6th

berto is piling in and ortiz catches him with 2 big hooks, and then berto kind of realises he's hurt and then the knockdown punch is just a tap

i dunno why i like it so much i just do :)

im gonna have to watch this a second time as on first viewing i thought maidana-morales just shaded it with maybe even juanma-salcido being the better fight
