Stevesons no bum. Packs one hell of a punch. I deffo give him a shot against Froch
stevenson is his mandatory i am quite sure... i also thought that this was a plan by whichever governing body made him number 1 contendor to get the belt back to bute S:.. make some canadian mandatory and threaten to strip froch of the belt if he don't fight him when froch is on the doorstep of some big money fights v kessler and ward again S:..... strip froch so stevenson and bute fight for the vacant title and then bute can win and go back into hiding in canada.... but froch has blocked this plan by taking the fight S: errrr this makes sense in my head anyway..
Nah. I said from the start maybe not as often here that Kessler has lost the edge. He doesn't have it anymore and I could see it when he exited the tourney. With all his bravado and agreeing to the 2 mil a piece and going to Nottingham bla bla bla. He knew dam well all along that Froch had a mandatory coming up and if he would have agreed to fight Froch that it would have most likely been postponed given Froch agreeing to fight Stevenson within 90 days after Kessler should he have won. I predict that Kessler will not fight an elite fighter at 168 and will either retire after a variety of pastry chefs with his trinket or move to 175 for some other weak trinket.
Man, IamInuit, I don't know what Kessler did but you are down on that dude!
I used to like him but he has become a bit of a poser. He's starting to remind me of Sven Ottke. It can be traced back to the Calzaghe fight. Joe took away his air of invincibility and I think that changed him. Ward and Froch took his soul. Its nothing personal as he seems like a nice enough guy but I just don't think he has it anymore and is paranoid to leave Denmark or fight the top dogs. I hope I'm wrong but I think he will be satisfied to have one of the many "regular" titles flogged around boxing and his stalwart fans that will lap it up and believe its everyone elses fault as to why he toils with no hopers.
Again I hope I'm wrong and will be happy to eat crow if I am.

Absolutely, a puncher always has a chance. I see Froch winning but don't discount Stevenson too much. It's a long way from street gangs in Haiti to where Stevenson is now which means he has some smarts, an important component in every fighters bag.
Yeah but one could argue that such an experience in Haiti and for a time here has helped to prepare him for this as it did for many greats that were in gangs or in trouble. Guys like Ketchel were not nice guys and Benny Leonard learned how to fight in the Jewish Ghetto. Live the thug and be the thug in order to survive choosing more often then not to fight over flight. This will serve him well when he walks to the ring in Nottingham. I just don't see him being as intimidated as others walking into that atmosphere. In fact he probably feeds on it.

Kessler still has “it” he was wobbled by Green but knocked him out in good style.

Re: Froch vs. Stevenson for April/May time, No agreement for Kessler
Froch only brings 70% to the pot if you include the British gate money. Froch Kessler 2 can sell out a stadium in Denmark as easily as it can in England and then Kessler is bringing 70% to the pot.
We have a pretty good idea how the fight will go. An all action fight that could go either way on the cards after twelve rounds. If it's in Denmark Kessler probably gets the decision. If it's in England Froch probably gets the decision.
Froch is the one desperate for the rematch. Why should Kessler come over to England and probably lose when he can have the fight in Denmark and probably win? The record books aren't going to worry about where the fights were held, they're just going to record who won.

Id bet that Kessler is more of a national hero in Denmark than Froch is in England. Unfortunately for Carl as good as he is and as good his opponents have been he just hasnt had the exposure needed to be a massive draw like Hatton. Granted, hes not really going to appeal to the same dunce football hooligans that Hatton does but even Calzaghe managed to get 55,000 in a stadium to watch Kessler.
It cant all be that its down to Froch fighting on sky and not terrestrial as Hamed and Calzaghe both fought on sky and even pay per view but both got massive audineces and headlines. In fact Froch started out on the BBC. His style just isnt as eye pleasing.

I believe Froch fight with Bute was a brilliant atmosphere and attendance.
