I'm not comparing the UK to the USA. Crime has always been a problem here. On my trip in 82 I could walk the streets of London after dark with no worries. My American friend tells me it's really bad there. I just want to know what changed over the years?

And you can argue in favor of gun rights in the U.S. without affecting your credibility, because that's all it is, your opinion. However, when you begin trying to play semantics with statistics to prove that violent crime in the UK is somehow comparable with violent crime in the U.S., well............
I don't claim to know a lot about the UK nor do I care about firearm ownership in the UK but the link I posted seems pretty clear. I'm not trying to promote any agenda in this thread but it seems one is more likely to be a homicide victim in the US, much more likely to be shot in the US but more than twice as likely to be a victim of a violent crime in the UK. I have no idea how "Nation Master" collects their data but at face value it pretty much supports my previous posts.Quote:
