Obviosly PAC was comfortable in outboxing MAB instead of slugging it out and in turn might get himself caught and kayoed by a an OLD MAB.
What's wrong with that performance anyways? As far as I can remember JMM struggled vs MAB when they fought, PAC on the otherhand won by a LANDSLIDE:)
It was boring. Isnt Pac supposed to be an exciting fighter ? He was fighting a washed up Mexican coming off a loss . He should have atleast tried to make it a spectacle.
It takes two to tango. MAB doesnt square his shoulders or stands in front of PAC to trade. What do you want? that PAC rushes in throwing no caution to the wind? and gets countered big time.

Pac tried make it a spectacle night by knocking MAB out. But that didn't really fully happen cuz MAB took a break by sucker punching Pac.
Pac was gonna dispose MAB in that round.

Re: Does it bother you...
It does bother me when people talk poorly of my favorite fighter especially when they call him chinny. But I just gotta remember they probably haven't ever seen him fight. Plus i don't get much support because I am the only one here that has him as a favorite.
For those of you that don't know my favorite fighter is Jhonny Gonzalez.
I think the easiest people to upset are the Hatton fans, there are a lot of them and they are not all like this.
And to see where I stand on this for the most debated fights.
Hatton vs. Tszyu - Good win for Hatton, feel he got some help from the ref, but he did exactly what he needed to do and overtook the best 140 lber in the game.
Hatton vs. Castillo - Castillo was washed up, you can't deny this he looked horrible against Ngoudjo and got gifted a decision.
Hatton vs. Collazo - Had even rounds 6-6 Hatton wons cause of the knockdown in round one. Even match IMO told me that Hatton should have stayed at 140 (I understand the prefight politics led to him fighting at 147). If Collazo would have gone offensive more, I think he could have at least knocked Hatton down.
Hatton vs. Mayweather - Hatton gave a good account of himself, had the ref working against his style in the first round, but he did what he could and I respect that.
Hatton vs. Lazcano - This fight was almost all Hatton, Lazcano caught him good a few times, but Hatton recovered quickly, it did show however a little slowing in Hatton's handspeed and put a big red 'X' where Hatton is vulnerable to the left hook. Still a good win for his fans.
Calzaghe vs. Lacy - Lacy was overhyped, America was desperate for a hero at 168 and so he was put in that position. If Lacy had a chance to get a few more fights under his belt particularly against someone with handspeed he may have learned more, but he was outclassed before the first bell rang.
Calzaghe vs. Kessler - This is where Joe got my respect he fought the guy rated right behind him, a solid fundamentals boxer, that had enough power to actually hurt Calzaghe and enough skill to put that into motion. Calzaghe really impressed that night, adapting to Kess pushing him out of his comfort zone and dominating the championship rounds.
Calzaghe vs. Hopkins - Hopkins lost this fight more than Joe won IMO not trying to take anything away from Calzaghe he did exactly what he needed to do press the action and keep those flurries flying. Hopkins has to realize he can't win with that output, no judge in their right mind is going to say he's luring him and one of these times he'll hit him, i'll give him that round. Good fight and good name to go on Joe's resume.

Re: Does it bother you...
It's a little annoying when people "hate on" fighters by using poor logic and bad comparisons.
I personally don't like Lennox Lewis, but people will say stuff like "he can't be great because he avoided a Vitali rematch" when greater fighters in the past avoided rematches to actual controversial fights. And they didn't retire, they kept fighting and didn't give those guys rematches.
Or when people knock fighters like Roy Jones or Floyd Mayweather, they'll use poor logic like "a true great cares about legacy and not money". Yeah boy, that Sugar Ray Robinson, he sure didn't care about money, it was all legacy for him.

Re: Does it bother you...
Some of the "haters" are the most fun to argue with.. especially when you checkmate them ;)
This place would boring if everyone agreed.. or .. everyone settled their differences like sensible adults

It just sucks when arguements go way out line... Like name calling, throwing race in the conversation, steoreotypes, and personal attack with family members, etc.

OH MAN! You beat me to it! I was going to say the exact same thing! Debates and arguments are a part of forums, but keep it on topic.
Though no one has said this to me yet, "you don't know boxing," "only a real boxing fan could see," "my boxing knowledge is much greater." I think that's so insulting. People join this forum because they love to talk about boxing, want to find out about boxing stories, and/or learn more about the sport. I admit, I'm not an all-knowing, but I know enough about it that I can post my thoughts and defend my statements. This is about opinions and just because one sees it one way doesn't mean everyone HAS to see it the same.
ALSO! I hate it when people stereotype others by their favorite fighters. I find myself having to always throw a disclaimer everytime I talk about Pacquiao. I've been into boxing way before his time as a fighter. I don't want to have to but I feel people will just label me a "Pacfan" just because my profile pic has him on it.

Yeah that stuff is taking it too far.. but most of the morons that take threads in that direction get flushed anyway.. the ones that don't, ignore them. ;)

Sometimes it's fun to "hate", to see what kind of excuses and nonsense people will come up with to defend their fighters.
Some of my favorites:
"Trinidad only lost to Hopkins because of 9/11"
"Vitali's eye was cut because Lewis probably tampered with the gloves"
"Prime Lewis never could have beaten Vitali"
"Almost all of the ringside press said De La Hoya was robbed against Mosley!!"
"Wlad's loss to Sanders was not brutal, because it was a TKO and not a KO. A TKO can't be brutal"
"Wlad only lost to Brewster because he was poisoned"
"You just bash Vitali because of racial hatred"

I won't say I've never been annoyed by somebody's comments on some of my favorite fighters (when a guy is accused of ducking somebody when I didn't think there was a good case for it) but overall I don't think it bothers me that bad. I'm not gonna lose any sleep if somebody (PAC fans I'm looking at you) calls Joan Guzman boring.
Just seems like some get so worked up about it and I'm not sure why?
BTW I've said some really hateful things about Paulie Malignaggi in the last twenty four hours, I apologize in advance to those that are offended ;D
It does not bother me at all. I see Miranda, Pac and Pavlik get attacked quite often. I know those boys can take care of themselves and they don't need me defending them ;D

He's not the one who's been running away the whole night, got rocked, wobbled, and ended up with a huge laceration in his face.
Barrera was the one who made the fight really poor.

I think it was teh 11th ( cant remeber cuz it was sucha pathetic fight Ive only seen it once ) and Pac was hit with a right hook . He staggred over to the corner and the ref gave him loads of time. He was on wobbly legs and didnt wana fight on . I thought he was a coward for doing that . He had an old man infront him yet he wanted a cheap dq win.

He hit Marquez on the side of the head that was not a big deal and he should not have been penalized for that. How could you even pull out the last fight of his career over a much younger much stronger opponent? I mean really, I bet Chavez bored quite a few fans when he fought Grover Wiley. Probably a horrible comparision but still, that is so weak.

Danny G is a shot poster, just look at the last effort with the recycled Cotto poster....he is definately past his prime, ala the Judah-Cotto fight. I think all the Mayweather wins have finally caught up with him. He's a shell IMO ;D

Don't worry, my guy will be back in full force once the farce that is ODLH vs Fraud II gets underway.

just for the record (really dont wanna upset pacstraightleft on this as his a decent bloke).......
JMM owned pacman the 2 times they fought and dictated the pace on both occasions. I had it 114-113 Marquez both times and to not get the decision twice absoloutley stinks:(:(:(

I know it always bothers when people talk about the fighter's I like. For instance Oscar De La Hoya. When the man has fought everyone possible but still he sucks cause he wears fishnet's.

Hell no, Pac wasn't hurt. He was acting cuz he didn't want Barrera to get away with the unsporstmanlike conduct. It was part of a plan from Pacquiao Team. MAB is well known as a great fighter but can be dirty when he's in deperate situation, and Pac's team was well aware of that. They were prepared for something like that to happen.
It's just so fucking weird that you find sucker punching cool.:-\ It's an act of cowardness. It's a punch that you don't see coming. Trust me, you wouldn't like it if someone punch you like that.
Pac fought a prime Barrera too. And I'm sure you know what happened there. ;)

Pac never met a prime Barrera cuz if he did he'd get a more horific beating than the one Torrencampo dished out to him . Barrera was at his worst ever for that in Nov 03 and u know it . He didnt train cuz of the forrest fires and he still dropped pac in round 1.
About the sucker punching Pac hit JMM when he was on the floor too . Check the 3rd kd of fight 1. Barrera is cool when he does it cuz he does it with style . You forgot to mention the Mckinney sucker punch at the press con . That was Barrera in his prime a decade ago . Not this faded version Pacs trying to get credit for. Anyone with any sense knows if Barrera was at his best Pac would get slaugtered . Pacs just got a rep for beating washed up fighters nothing more.

Exactly . Barrera was shot . That fight means as much as Berbicks win over Ali . If Barrera was in his prime and Pac was washed up , it wouldnt have gone 12 rounds.

Excuses. Lfmao! I knew that was coming. Forrest fire, brain surgery, pending divorce, blah blah blah. MAB is a pro. He should've backed out. He under estimated Pac and that's the reason why his ass got raped.
JMM wasn't clearly downed and holding the rope when Pac punched him.
And you don't make no sense at all with the "prime" thing. A decade ago MAB was KTFO by Jones, defeated him twice actually. I wouldn't call that as his prime. Pac-MAB 1 was in between MAB-EM trilogy, when MAB KOed Paulie Ayala. Ofcourse MAB was in his prime when Pac defeated him for the first time.
You difination of "old fighters" is kinda wack. You're just saying Pac built up his reputation by beating up old fighters cuz your boy got his ass handed to him twice. Admit it.

. . .and your boy got knocked out in 3 by Torrencampo . Admit it. Arent you gonna come up with the excuses for that one. Wrong socks, didnt train etc ?Heard it all b4.
Barrera was in his prime a decade ago when hewas beating Mckinney . He was dqd vs Jones and was robbed in the return . What has Pac ever done apart from beat Hasbeens ? Nothing . He has built his rep on fighting guys who would have owned him if they had anything left . Marquez beat Pac twice and was robbed both times. A washed up Morales beat him too. Face it Pac is way over rated . I dont fall for the hype though cuz I can see straight through it. Hes been knocked out b4 and he will be knocked out again as soon as he has the guts to face a threat and not a washed up fighter .

You just love to use the word "robbed" don't you? ;D MAB had a back to back lost but you call that a prime,.. and Pac won world titles in different divisions and you call him overrated. Oookay  :coocoo:
Yeah. Pac knocked out by Torrecampo and got defeated by Morales,.. so? When did I make any comments about making excuses for those? No regrets there cuz those are great experience and motivations for him.
Know your facts and don't just make something up. Pac-JMM 1 was a draw, and Pac won the second fight via SD. The first one was a critical draw and I can't complain with it eventhough one of the judges made a mistake. Pac-JMM 2 was a close fight but, but there were no controversies.
You're just a sourgraping Pac hater. ;)

Ha ha. Your guy got owned by a gay boy in Marquez and you find it hard to swallow. Lets not forget some other bum knocked Pac out aswel and Pac was lucky to escape with a ND against Sanchez . Larios was washed up but rocked him in the 3rd and went 12. Pacs career is littered with dodgy performances yet you guys think he is some kind of legend . He is nothing ! ;D
Good luck if Pac faces Hatton ( I think he will cuz Haton is showing signs of being washed up and thats the green light Pac needs to take a fight ) Diaz is the worst of all champs so Pacs gone looking for him . Open your eyes and understand that your getting carried away with the hype . Pacs over rated son ! big time

And how did my boy get owned when he wasn't the one who's been smooching the canvas 4 times? So what if young Pac got KOed twice in his early career,.. look at where he's at now?.. He's got the heart of a champion. He never gave up on his dreams and kept succeeding every set back. FYI he won world titles is 4 weight class. Flyweight, Super-Bantamweight, Featherweight and Super-Featherweight, became the FOTY in 2006, current Ring champ and #2 p4p just behind PBF. How could you call him an overrated fighter when he defeated 3 future HOFers? You must be out of your fucking mind. That'd be like discrediting and insulting Marco, Erik, and Juan. Do you even realize that?
Pac was owning dirty Sanchez, WTF are talking about? Getting rocked and getting literaly knocked down are 2 different things, Larios got KD'ed TWICE buddy.
As for Hatton fight. That is still remains to be seen. Pac will be the huge underdog on this one. But I believe Pac has a chance. He shocked the world many times, but this one is a hard one to pull.
Stop hatin' hater. :)

Yep.
