I think the ref did fine, its all very well complaining afterward but you cant always stop it. It could have been over in round 5 with a different victor if the ref stopped it after the other double knockdown.
Anyone know where you can find out the scorecards through 10, it would be interesting to see how they had it
Dunne did better than expected. Cordoba was/is a good fighter. Credit to Dunne for picking himself up after Martinez brutalized him.
With that being said it's disgrace to call Dunne a champion. It's a meaningless belt. Celestino Caballero is the true WBA champion. And that's not even debatable.

Great upset win. Glad Dunne proved me wrong. I was surprised how regular he kept hurting Cordoba (i assume he is alright :-\). Dunne's loss to Martinez was just an unlucky blip considering how limited Martinez has looked since.

Superb fight and tremendous heart by both.
The smaller Irish weight classes know how to spoil us. McCauley vs Bassa, McGuigan vs Babrera and now Dunne vs Cordoba.
The momentum swung back and forth and the shots both absorbed in the fight were tremendous. Not a fight for the feint hearted. Knockdowns, cuts, lowblows the lot.
Superb atmosphere aswell. Well done Bernard.

Cool I wanted to know what the cards were and yes I agree that is a surprise. I had it 94-94 (5-4-1).
I can understand the 95-92 Cordoba as thats 6-4 and there were some close rounds but the other 2 scores are out of order imo. If anything youd expect those scores to be in favour of Dunne since it was in Ireland. Never heard of an away town cooking before ;D

You guys seem to know little facts about this whole Dunne/Munroe/Cordoba issue, so let me enlighten you all with the facts.
Munroe was offered a career best purse to fight Dunne on 3 occasions and he turned it down.
He used the excuse that he did not want to fight in Ireland and he was the champion so why should he have to travel yet when he won the European title, Martinez gave him home advantage. Munroe then comes to Ireland to fight a part time taxi driver. Dunne has a contract with RTE so he could not fight outside of Ireland without RTE agreeing and they were not about to lose out to Sky Sports.
Frank Maloney admitted on Steve Bunces programme that Munroe was offered the Cordoba fight and that they turned it down.
Richard Dobal, Ricardo Cordoba's manager, said that he had first offered the title shot to Munroe, then Matinez, and that Dunne was his 3rd choice. This interview is on RTE.ie website plus Irish Boxing.com
So you see Dunne did not duck Munroe, he did everything possible to get that fight but Maloney would not agree to it.
And for those of you saying Munroe should have got the title shot, he did get the chance, he just wouldn't take it!
So please get your facts in order before you make your idiot comments.

The point about Munroe not talking the fight in Dublin is that he would have got a career best payday and still turned it down, Dunne would have got way less money if he fought in England and he had contractual obligations in his way.
Maloney told Bunce that he turned down the Cordoba fight because he wanted Munroe to win a world title not just fight for one, translation : Maloney was basically saying that Dunne would lose and that he knew Munroe was not ready for a world title shot.

I just saw the fight. What a throwback fight, a back and forth battle. Great heart and performances showed by both guys.
What did Cordoba in? he was assaulting Dunne in the 10th, looked pretty brutal, looked like it could have been it.
That left hook before the clinch in the 11th before the first knockdown really hurt Cordoba and even though he didn't go down he was finished from then on out.
First time I saw both fighters. grueling fight great performance by both.
