Are you telling me that internationally more people would want to watch Wlad fight someone like Thompson or Aerolla? Outside of hardcore fans in America nobody could really give a fuck.
I guarantee you if Wlad had signed virtually anybody else there wouldn't be this many threads about it.
The proof is right there in front of you... haye hasn't worked his way up to this shot like all of the other potentials had... so why else would this fight even have been discussed... let alone SIGNED. Please don't tell me you think it's because Wlad was so upset by haye's trash talking that he had to fight him...

We could bicker all day but I guess the best thing to do is just to wait and see how much green the fight makes internationally.
casual boxing fans in America don't know any boxers besides Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya, and George Foreman, and they don't know Big George cause of his boxing career, only his damn grill lol, nobody gives a FLYING FUCK ABOUT DAVID HAYE, the British Nightmare that was sparked by an old man ;D.
HAHAHAHA Kel bad reps me just cause i said the truth about Haye!!!
go ask 10 random people in the US who David Haye is, and i'm sure that 9/10 if not 10/10 wont have a clue, go ahead and ask random people who the hell Felix "Tito" Trinidad one of the biggest names in boxing is (besides in NY lol) and i'm sure not many will know who he is either, and lets face it Haye hasn't accomplished half of what Trinidad did in his career nor is he as exciting, just cause you Haye nutthuggers are all in awe with him it doesn't make him a household name

I didn't know he was fighting for the NABA title?

Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
Haye has a shot in this fight. The thing that really bothers me is that Haye is so wide open. I can see Wlad throwing and landing some heavy shots. The question is can Haye take it. My answer is I doubt it. I see Haye taking a beating before the ref stops in between 5-8 rounds.
-
Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
I know, I'm not sure if he can get through the strength and accuracy, if he can't then he's just going to take a heavy handed beating.
Haye can be fairly slick when he applys himself/doesn't day dream so we'll have to see if haye/Booth can come up with the answers.
He needs to make Wlad work and negate his range which is only going to happen with the right gameplan.
Haye has a very good shot but I'm still edging towards wlad by mid to late stoppage for now.
-
Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
I know Haye will clean Vlad's clock but not so sure about the other. It will all pay off for Haye in the end. I have the upmost respect for Haye now, especially because he will do what ever it takes to get that big puss(Vlad) in the ring.
I'll bet other stipulations in the contract were that Haye...
1. "Has to tie one hand behind his back"
2. " Hop on one leg for the 1st two rds"
3. " Keep both eyes closed"
4. " Is not allowed to throw any punches at Vlad's chin"
5. " Has to quit fighting if the fight goes beyond 4rds"
6. " Must allow Vlad to punch first"
LOL!! Sorry, couldn't help it.

Samuel Peter
Even Lamon Brewster only looks half decent because he was avenging a defeat.
He's fought complete plodders and has had every physical advantage imaginable....yet in a number of fights he's made it hard fucking work.
The heavyweight division is beyond embarrassing - made up with fighters who are a good 2 stone over-weight, lacking the fitness to punch and move. The Klitschko's should be dominating.
This fight is a much harder fight for Wlad. For one he won't have 3 minutes thinking time while his opponent is stood directly infront of him. Haye will make him move, make him fight and if Samuel Peter's cuffing shots can put him down, anything landed by Haye could mean lights out. By the same token anything landed by Wlad could mean lights out for Haye. That's why it's such an intriguing fight.
How anyone thinks this is meaningless is beyond me.
Thank you. That is exactly what I'm talking about. For whatever reasons people love to bad mouth Wlad. If people like you ain't giving him credit on his wins over Peter, Thompson, Byrd and Brock what the fukk makes you think there going to give him credit for his win over Haye? A much smaller fighter with chin and stamina issues. They won't.
Chris Byrd- was the #1 ranked heavyweight in the world at the time, and he had been #1 for at least a year. And that was not only by The Ring, but by every other legitimate boxing journalist.
Calvin Brock and Samuel Peter were both undefeated top 10 contenders.
Sultan Ibragimov- was a title unification
Tony Thopmson and Ray Austin were knockouts of alphabet mandatories
Lamon Brewster- avenging a loss
Hasim Rahman- well I will give you that one. Rahman was spent.
Their status in a piss poor division is irrelavent. Who cares who is the best out of a very bad bunch? It's actually painful to watch - that's how bad it is.
I wasn't saying it's Wlad's fault, he has actually fought pretty much all that is out there. My point is, the division is an embarassment. The majority of the 'eilite' fighters are a good 1-2 stone overweight.
David Haye brings something completely different to the table. He's not an overweight plodder who is going to stand in front of him like a sitting duck.
If people criticize him then so be it, but to the majority, it's no lesser an achievement than beating any of the other heavyweight fighters.
Chances are Haye will get ko'd but this fight is being talked about like no other heavyweight fight...maybe since Lewis - Vitali.
-
Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
You cannot fault Wladimir for not having competition....he's tried to fight the toughest guys out there and make the biggest fights and if Wladimir was to KO: Haye, Povetkin, and Arreola back to back to back he still wouldn't get credit.
ono, you put David Haye in vs the guys Wladimir has fought and I can bet you he leaves with more than 2 losses. People use revisionist history when they look back on Sam Peter, Chris Byrd, and Tony Thompson. Sam can still punch and he was "The most dangerous fighter in the heavyweight division" when Wladimir fought him epsecially considering that Wladimir was coming off of 2 KO losses. Chris Byrd was a slick boxer, he is one tough fighter...he schooled a prime David Tua. Tony Thompson was BIGGER than Wladimir and he is a southpaw, he doesn't have great power but being big, awkward, and having a decent workrate he'd be difficult for anyone to beat and he had NEVER been KO'd before Wlad hammered him down.
Sultan Ibragimov was also undefeated when Wlad fought him, and he's a southpaw with pretty quick hands. Wlad has beat more southpaws than most heavyweights ever step in the ring with.
Give the guy a fucking break....the more these Haye fans talk crap about Wlad, the happier I'm going to be when Haye's career is ended by Wladimir.

Why are you getting so defensive about him? I'm saying that generally speaking, the competition in the heavyweight division is really really poor. There aren't many who would argue that it is a strong division.
So poor that 'the most dangerous man in the division' got his ears boxed off by a fighter who had been inactive for 3 years.
My point wasn't to discredit Wlad because like you say he has pretty much beaten everybody there is to beat...barring his brother which fair enough is never going to happen. My point was, the heavyweight division is really poor so it will be hard for Wlad to get credit for beating the relatively poor opposition that is put in front of him.
He'll get the sort of credit Hatton gets for beating the likes of Urango, Maussa or Lazcano or the credit that Mayweather got for beating Baldomir or Mitchell or even Judah at that stage. The problem for Wlad is there isn't really any option for him to step up and fight better opposition, whereas there was always somebody elite for Hatton or Mayweather to fight or duck.
In fact the only complaint i'd have about Wlad is sometimes the manner in which he wins leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth. Being cuffed down 3 times by 'the most dangerous man in the heavyweight division' or by leaving his hand in the face of Ibragimov for the majority of the stink fest at the garden.
At least David Haye will present him with a new challenge. He's fighting somebody who is supremely confident and actually has skill, speed and power to back up the confidence. Wlad is going to have to think on his feet and be forced to react. Haye isn't going to be looking for a way out like Tony Thompson was. He may get knocked out but he presents a fair deal of danger to Wlad. Once Wlad shows that he isn't going to crumble under pressure and that he can fight at somebody elses pace and still come out with the W then i'm sure he'll gain a lot of peoples respect. My point was, he's not had the chance to do that as of late but against David Haye that chance is there. If he takes, then good luck to him and i'll be first to congratulate him.

Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
Fair enough ono, but you really can't fault ONLY Wladimir for the fight vs Sultan and the knockdowns vs Sam Peter were from illegal blows....and to be honest that was the fight where everyone started bitching about Wlad holding so much, I guess because #1 He finally learned how to do it and #2 They were all sold on Sam Peter and were frustrated by watching Wladimir fight a smart fight.
Even I have been disappointed in some of Wladimir's wins, like the ones vs Sultan and Rahman, but to hear the average fan's review of the KO over Austin it's like it went the full 12...just LISTEN to the first left hook that lands, it reminds me of what the Hearns-Duran KO sounded like, and Wlad immediately follows with 4 more left hooks.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hO_sWnawpU4
When Wlad lets his hands go he is a great fighter to watch, but you just can't always expect it in a division where no matter who you are fighting 1 punch could change it....200+ pound full grown men will fucking hurt you when they land clean, no matter who it is throwing the punches...Povetkin got hurt by Eddie damn Chambers! That's how defensive these guys have to be, and Wladimir isn't the type of guy like Tyson or Holyfield who could use their offense as their defense...the jab is a part of his defense but that's about it as far as punches go.
-
Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
Even the Brock KO was pretty nice IMO....whenever you drop an undefeated fighter face first to the canvas with one shot you're doing something impressive.

No but going to Paris to knockout the undisputed champion and then taking Enzo's belt off him in spectacular fashion is just as impressive as anything the other heavyweight contenders have done in recent times. Hell knocking Monte Barret down 5 times is more impressive than anything most other contenders have recently done.

He'd also realise that this isn't a domestic fight between two or even involving one American fighter. Shockingly places other than America excist and also happen to have sports fans living in them!!!! :-0
He'd realise that the low PPV numbers in America for David Haye fighting an American Gatekeeper nobody cares about are irrelevant with regards to the hype this fight has behind it world wide.
How do you think Wlad-Barrett would of sold? I doubt that a complementary blow job from each one of the ring card girls would have helped sales much.
I can't help but laugh at VD... nobody wants to see this fight apparently... the only problem with you saying that is that you KEEP POSTING IN THESE THREADS and you have said a number of times that you WANT TO SEE WLAD KO DAVID HAYE.
lol, I take it you won't be watching?
Wlad must have been really stupid to take this fight when there are so many other deserving, exciting fighters out there who would make a much more marketable fight.
So seeing as Wlad will get small revenue and no prestige for beating haye why is the fight even happening ???

i dont think that the contract that haye's got is any worse than the one joe louis had to sign to skip the queue, 10% for ten years he payed to the champ (whos name escapes me) he beat.
haye may be bringing tv money from britain but if that held any wieght then he wouldn't be signig that pish contract,
so by signing haye's admiting to himself, his fans and the boxing world as a hole that he's nothing in the heavyweight divison. :lickish:

It looks like David Haye is Demise's new infatuation. After years of rubbishing Joe Calzaghe he eventually admitted he was a big fan. It'll be the same with Haye. At some point in the future he'll admit he really loves him, just like he did with Joe.

SAY WHAT?!?!?! :o
Wladimir did that 9 years ago when Monte Barrett was RELEVANT IN THE DIVISION and only had 1 loss on his record and that was a SD to Lance Whittaker....and apprently it didn't impress all the Klitschko haters who frequent this site.
David Haye has beaten 2 heavyweights who have been RECENTLY KO'd by the likes of the lead fisted Nicolay Valuev and Audley Harrison. At least Cris Arreola has challenged himself at heavyweight and fought some decent competition....Walker was a heavy hitter, the two guys Haye has fought couldn't break wind much less crack a fighter's jaw AND David Haye did get knocked down by Barrett.
David Haye (and his fans) LOOOOVE talking shit, well I hope they find it amusing when Haye is drinking meat through a straw after eating a few too many right crosses

Besides, Haye got KO'd as a cruiserweight, what are people smoking to make them think even for a second that Haye stands a chance?
Is Haye a muslim?
Anyway the way I see it, Haye is very marketable, that's what he brings to the table. Wlad and his brother have totally taken advantage of Haye which is fair enough, it's business. Haye needs the Klits to make big money, it's only fair I suppose.

Of course Wlad should get the lions share of the money, decide the venue ect., even get a rematch clause, the clause forcing him to fight Vitali if he beats Wlad is LOL.
How unbelievable would it be if he beat the touchy feely one? I said I'd name my first son Manny if he beat Oscar but since Oscar was weight drained I didn't have too and I think I'm gonna stay away from that overall. But maybe I'll send Haye like a hundred dollars or something and, of the utmost importance, I'll laugh at Lyle.
If he loses oh well he was just a smalll cruiserweight ;D

He beat Enzo. Whoa! Big deal. Enzo is crap. Always has been. Mormeck was already done as a fighter. And anybody that knows Boxing knows he really shouldn't even of been champion. O'Neil Bell deserved the win in there rematch. As for Barrett? LOL. By the time Haye fought him Cliff Couser had already stopped him.
Yeah real impressive stuff.

I can't help but laugh at VD... nobody wants to see this fight apparently... the only problem with you saying that is that
you KEEP POSTING IN THESE THREADS and
you have said a number of times that you WANT TO SEE WLAD KO DAVID HAYE.
lol, I take it you won't be watching?
Wlad must have been really stupid to take this fight when there are so many other deserving, exciting fighters out there who would make a much more marketable fight.
So seeing as Wlad will get small revenue and no prestige for beating haye why is the fight even happening ???
Again with the PPV numbers. What numbers? Haye-Barrett wasn't on PPV in the US. Enough with the lies. Stick to piggy backing somebody else's post. Your better off that way. Cuz on your own it's nothing but the usual. Lies and stupidity.

People act like this is the first ever time a rematch clause has been used....so Wlad and Vitali gave Haye the business, they have every right to, they were in the power position and they used it to their advantage....that's just good business on their part.
If Haye wins, I'm sure I won't be happy with it but it's not going to destroy me or anything. Wlad has lost before, Wlad has proven he has a questionable chin before, and that he has run out of gas before.....but those are all vs heavyweights. Haye got run by an old timer at cruiserweight....maybe he was weight drained, maybe he gassed out, but those excuses at cruiserweight and his "competition" at heavyweight leave all those questions on the table for his true heavyweight debut vs Wladimir....and I like Wlad's chances, he fights smart, he's stronger, he's taller, heavier, has more experience, and he has a great trainer.....what does David Haye have besides a big mouth?
