So, if he was 0-2 against Marquez in some people's eyes, and then he voluntarily chooses to face him again, how is that cherrypicking or is a fraud? It seems fair and right that he would face him again. I 100% disagree with this. How does Manny deserve no praise from last night? Were you watching the fight I was? It was a scrap.

Manny Pacquiao chose the weight (145) saying that he couldn't make 140 anymore regardless of boasting that he has to eat over 7,000 calories a day to stay at WW, there's a reason that the 3rd fight never happened when Marquez first won the lineal title at Lightweight and a reason why Pacquiao waited out till Marquez was 38 and hadn't looked as sharp in 2 of his 3 previous bouts, Manny only took on the challenge of fighting Marquez NOW cause he thought that he was there for the taking, he had the same mentality that most people on here did, that's why he made the ridiculous early KO prediction, they can fight a million times and on paper Pacquiao will apparently be awarded the gift every time, but Marquez will really win the fight, last night IMO wasn't even close i had it 8-4 for Marquez, and the fact that the only thing that gave Manny an "edge" in the other fights was eliminated (a knockdown) i don't see how anyone in their right mind can say that Pacquiao won, wtf did he do last night to deserve praise? JACKSHIT, he was schooled, beat on every exchange and then still given a gift win, this is no less a travesty than Cintron/Martinez was, again fuck Manny Pacquiao and his special treatment bullshit he's not even fit to carry JMM's jockstrap

Well, well, well, hindsight is really something. I remember people here felt differently at the time of those fights against fighters like Cotto and Hatton. Now Pac cherry picked those guys for easy wins. Should have said that then and not now. It's disingenuous tbh.
Just like I said that JMM won't go past 5 with this version of Pac. I was wrong, no going back on what I said and made up some excuses with hindsight.

I won't be goaded into talking crap to you El Terrible. Not my style. I said from DAY ONE this was a tough fight for Pacquiao. I have been saying this since people were badmouthing him for making the fight. Go check my posts. I've been consistent. I don't see how people thought it wouldn't be after Pacquiao and Marquez had two wars in the past. I said Marquez was his kriptonite. I've been saying it. I said Marquez was a warrior and no way would he take this fight to lay down. I thought the weight wouldn't make that much of a difference because they wouldn't be far off the night of the fight (in reality Marquez weighed more). You've been bitter since Pacquiao squashed Cotto, but I'll say it again, there is no shame in that loss. Pacquiao is dominant against offensive fighters. We now know his trouble is with counter punchers. The blueprint has been out there since the last two Marquez fights that is why Floyd was a favorite in the Pacquiao fight. He's an even better counter puncher than Marquez.

Fair play to jmm, i thought and posted that pac would be too much for him at this weight and due to pacs recent form/list of massive named oppenants hes beat! i thought pac would stop him around 8rounds?! I said that Manny would knock him out, not because JMM was bad or anything but because he was fighting too heavy, I do admit it without problems. However, I never bad mouthed Marquez, I always had tons of respect and admiration for Nacho and the Marquez brothers. Yestereday looked(only saw the fight late through a chopped stream) like a total robbery and it's a real disgrace.

You can check every single one of my picks leading up to every one of those fights.
Not once did I think any of those fighters would win.
I think the one which I said would be competative was Cotto and also that Hatton would go past 6 but even then I picked Pac to win. Even more so vs. ODLH and I have proven that time and time again that I said ODLH would look like corpse trying to hit 147 this was when Floyd Sr. announced that they had plans to go down in weight and fight Pac.
Same thing when he fought Clottey & Tony I said they'd both be targets all night. Two straight forward guys who come at you one way.
Diaz fight.. I mean come on whoever did not see that as just a fucken mismatch is blind seriously and that whole "It was a moving up in weight fight" well when JMM moved up to Lightweight he fought the lineal champ in Casamayor. Pac could have fought him too but he fought Diaz instead.
I give Pac full credit for beating Cotto & Hatton I believe those 2 fighters were top caliber and solid opponents. However I can't credit him for fighting Clottey, Tony, Diaz, ODLH & SSM. I said prior to fights after and I'll say it again.
Oh and I almost forgot the great matchup and sudden rejuvenation that was SSM... Please. :rolleyes:

I honestly thought Marquez would lose this fight convincingly. I like both fighters a lot but this was an amazing display by JMM. He won enough rounds clearly in my opinion that only someone with bias or incompetence could give the decision to Manny. Going into the 11th it was already decided unless Manny could score knockdowns and that didn't happen. Not only did Marquez get robbed of a clear victory over his biggest rival, he was robbed of a legit claim of being a champion in yet another division. He undoubtedly belongs in the hall of fame without this fight, but it is a shame that people looking back on his career that didn't experience while it was happening will not get the proper story seeing a MD loss in his biggest fight, while being a clear underdog in the fight.

Do you know how many doors will open to Marquez because of this fight? No one thought he would effective at 147. It turns out he is maybe better at 147 than possibly Manny himself.

There were a lot of people who thought Manny was a punk for fighting this fight above 135 and 140 and that he wasn't giving Marquez a fair shake. I knew from day one this was totally wrong. Read all my posts. It didn't make any sense to me. Marquez had warred with Manny twice. Suddenly, he won't be able to compete. No way. Marquez has Manny's number. Styles make fights. Manny can't fight counter punchers.
