But Manny Pacquiao is not like any other Top Rank fighter.
Floyd Mayweather should consider the following if he is to take that fight.
Pros:
1. He will be against someone who many consider as being inferior to him, someone he can easily beat, someone who was knocked out by an opponent who he manhandled.
2. He will earn an enormous amount of money, something that he probably will need to fight 3 opponents to earn.
3. He will shut up his critics.
4. He will improve his otherwise already impressive legacy and be considered one of the top ATG.
Con:
1. He will have to deal and share profit with Bob Arum.
Is it then worth for Floyd not to fight Manny and be haunted the rest of his life for allegedly ducking him? Or is there some other Con that I'm not aware of?
I think he hates Bob Arum that much that he is willing not to take the fight.
Anybody who hates Floyd enough to think he was ducking Manny or was at fault for not making the fight happen, will surely hate him enough to slam him even if he beats Manny now and say that Manny was washed up and Floyd waited for him to slip before fighting him.
If I felt that I had been ripped off by my promoter for 10 years, and if I feel that that promoter is human garbage who takes advantage of all his fighters, and is complete a complete piece of shit who can be accused of being one of the biggest problems with the sport of boxing, and he still owes me millions of dollars that are still unpaid after 10 years, and if I'm making enough money on my own, then I wouldn't want to give him a penny ever again.
Why is that so hard to understand?
As impactful as you may think that cliche is I don't think it applies in this situation.
Since leaving Arum, Floyd has been recognized as the best fighter of his generation, has become the highest paid athlete in the world several years running, has maintained a perfect unbeaten record, and has accomplished this without suffering so much as 2 knock downs in his entire career.
Floyd's face isn't being damaged by cutting Arum out of his life. If anything, he's demonstrating to other fighters that they don't have to be raped by crooked promoters and managers to succeed and be in control of their careers.
Floyd getting rid of Bob is more like ridding one's body of a cancer, and helping others to see that they can do the same.
People call Floyd a scumbag, when Pacquiao's no choir boy either.
He cheated on his wife, he's a fan of cockfighting, he has a gambling problem, he takes PEDs, and he fights people at catchweights.
But that argument will have less bite than the accusation of ducking and will make the accusers appear as not being credible. In that situation, the excuse will be coming from the Pac side. By not fighting Manny, the excuse is coming from Floyd's side. And who has believed in the excuses in this forum.
From your response, it appears that that is the only excuse why Floyd doesn't want the fight ... that he hates Bob Arum that much.
Didn't Floyd agree to fight Manny the first time around years ago? Do you mean he didn't hate Bob that much then? Or is it that he did not really intend to fight Manny even then hence the numerous demands?
Actually the only reason Pac said he did not support same-sex marriage like Obama is because the bible instruct him not to. He explain this and has no issues with people being gay. Also in the Philippines many comedians are gay and are accepted. There is no gay issues in the Philippines but same-sex marriage will be a long shot because of the strong arm of the catholic church.
Good point on Floyd though. Women beater is the worst kind of men.
Amir Khan could beat him. Thurman would give him problems. GGG could be too strong for him. Lara could cause him problems. Outside those 4 its hard to see much else giving him problems.
We discredited your excuse as to why Floyd does not want to fight Manny and you resort to name calling. I didn't even say that Manny is going to win the fight. I believe that Floyd has the advantage in this fight. I just want them to fight.
Try again. Come up with another excuse as to why Floyd doesn't want to fight.
You discredited my argument? How?
Obviously beating Pac won't "take Pac away from Arum", like you claim. Pacquiaos lost before, a handful of times and he's still with him. He got KTFO by JMM. He looked like he was dead. The guy sitting nearest ring side reached out because he thought Manny's head was gonna roll off his shoulders and land in his lap! (Maybe you missed that fight moron?)
How stupid you must be to think that ANOTHER loss is going to make a difference. You Pactards just type some made up shit and think it's the truth just like Manny believes all Bob's lies. You've found the perfect idol in Pacquiao.
You still have not answered the question. You were implying that Floyd does not want to fight Manny because he hates Bob Arum. Didn't Floyd agree to fight Manny before when Manny was already under Arum? So that excuse is discredited. So why doesn't Floyd want to fight Manny now when he is still at a huge advantage?
Resorting to name calling and trying to discredit the poster does not compensate for your lack of a valid response. Try again.
I'm not a fan of Floyd the man, because he's shown himself to be a thug, a bully, a woman beater, ect.
When you look at virtuosos in any field, they are usually insufferable pricks behind the scenes. A lot of times the fire that makes certain people become masters at their art, also makes them not so great people personally. So I think you have to separate the man from the art.
Especially in boxing. There's a documentary on Sugar Ray Robinson out there that goes into how he was behind the scenes, and he was a nightmare. His own children were interviewed and talked about how Ray would beat the hell out of his wife, beat his kids, cheat on his wife, not spend time with his kids, ect. Went into how big of a prima donna he was, how he had a paid entourage following him everywhere (including a midget jester to make him laugh when he was feeling down). The guy was probably even worse than Floyd.
I don't think that discredits my answer.
I'm going on what Floyd has stated in the past. He won't fight unless his conditions are met. His conditions were drug testing and no Bob Arum.
I've heard that being said for years. I don't know what else to tell you little Pactard.
Its true.
Sugar ray robinson was a c@nt..outside the ring.
Theres no excuse to lay your hand on a women and it makes me sick that men like this have to do this..they should follow ali"s behaviour outside the ring or even our current heavyweight champion from ukraine who seems like a great guy outside the ring.
Bottom line is that your both frustrated and both have valid reasons for this fight not taking place.
If only we were a fly in the meeting to see exactly what was discussed but I have to side with floyd only because he did offer pac 40 million and wanted him to leave bob arum and make more money for both of the fighters..pac not only has bob arum and freddie roach telling him what to do but a rich manager called michael cuntz (kontz)
Might not come off .
A loss to either fighter would mean the end of alot of attention and adulation which adds to asses on future seats, a huge fan base loss. Many so called fight fans would are not actually real fight fans would run from either one of these big names. Its still a big a fight to them both. They've both got books to write and a load of collectors and fan boy hands to shake yet.

Hey Pactards. This video is worth watching.
In case you don't know, this is the man that made your fighter the KO king that he used to be when he was full of PEDs.
He has some insight into why Pacquiao/Mayweather was never made.
Spoiler: it has nothing to do with Floyd.
I'm generally on Floyd's side, but he needs to get over the Bob Arum thing. Bob is a scumbag and it's understandable why Floyd hates him, but he needs to put that aside for the sake of boxing fans.
Not wanting to fight a guy who's juiced to the gills is understandable, but he needs to put that Arum thing aside. I'm pretty sure he will.
Why do you consider Bob a scumbag? The goal of business is to make a profit. Show me a successful businessman n I will show you someone who had to bend the rules.
Do you feel Arum is as shady as King, or screwed over as many fighters as bad as Don did? Do you think Haymon is a nice man who is opposed to playing dirty? Not trying to make this contentious, just never viewed Arum as negatively as you...
