Honestly, BG, what's the biggest religion in this country by far? It's like the guy who made the documentary, "Supersize Me." It's really an indictment of all fast food restaurants, but he went after the biggest one. It's the same thing here. I wouldn't call that singling out Christianity moreso than going after the one that is the predominant symbol of religion in this country. To include them all might perhaps have diluted the message.

Except that December 25th was allready considered the birthday of the pagan Sun-God,the first Christ Mass doesnt occur until the 4th century.
Add on the book of Luke mentions his birth at census time which occurs right after harvest not in the teeth of winter, Christ was probably born in October or September
You're talking about Mithras, born of a virgin mother some centuries before the "birth" of Christ, correct?
Actually Mithras himself wasnt the Sun God but was assisted by the sun god.
Early Christianity didnt celebrate the birthdays of any gods (and you can argue still dont considering they still have the date wrong) it was common in paganism of all sorts

The real enemy of God mankind and Christ consiousness...
666 and the titles of the Pope
Pretty much sealed and dried eh?
Considering they have changed all Gods laws and scriptures to suit themselves and their rule over us all, including all I mentioned in the other post and they actually have more pedaphilles per head per capita than any other known group.
Its pretty clear who the enemy is ,they trully are the Anti Christ.

Of course a lot of christians are going to be a little upset over it. It just seems uncool for the Humanists to present their case in this way.
A quote from the leader of this "Humanist" Association...
"Our reason for doing it during the holidays is there are an awful lot of agnostics, atheists and other types of non-theists who feel a little alone during the holidays because of its association with traditional religion."
Sounds like horseshit to me. What, did he do a survey or something, or did he just imagine it was so to further his cause? Is their anyone here who knows any atheists or agnostics who would like to celebrate Christmas but don't because of its traditional religeous connotations? Not me, that's for sure.
Christmas is as much, if not more, a secular holiday than it is a religious one. If some atheists or agnostics have a problem with it they can fuck off and grow a thicker skin. I hate this ridiculous PC bullshit.
Isn't christmas derived from Pagan traditions Yule?
Christmas falls in December because of the Roman pagan holiday Saturnalia, which fell in late December. Biblical scholars are fairly certain that Jesus was not born in winter. When Christianity was adopted by the Roman world, many elements of paganism were incorporated. People were willing to buy into the message, but they couldn't let go of many ancient customs and symbols. Other examples include the Easter bunny (a pagan fertility symbol for the spring), the worship of Mary (goddess worship), and the idea of saints (polytheism).
Christianity is largely a hybrid of beliefs of Judaism, Paganism, Zoroastrianism, and Mithrism. Even a Christian religious scholar will tell you this if he's an actual scholar of world religion. A graduate of some backwater bible college might deny it, but I've heard this acknowledged by Catholic bishops and Protestant ministers alike.
If Christians get offended by the suggestion there are other ways to be a good person, or the fact that some people think their believes are nonsense, they need to suck it up and deal, just as non-Christians living in predominantly Christian nations need to deal with being saturated by Christmas for one month out of the year. I spend a beautiful December once in Israel where Christmas is barely a blip on the radar, unless you go to Jerusalem because it's teaming the Christians on pilgrimage. If you are that offended by Christmas, move somewhere else. There are plenty of other place to live that aren't Christian dominated.
If you are living in a Muslim country, are you getting to be offended because you can't get a pork chop for lunch during Ramadan? No, you better deal, because that's the dominant culture.
Christianity is a religion built on trying to convince people to believe something other than what they already believe. If people want to use their right of free speech to convince people that there are other option, they have that right, just as much as Christians have the right to try to covert people. Do the Jehovah's Witness's "offend" me when they come to my house, ring my bell, and try to convince me my beliefs are wrong? No, I just thank them for their time, say no-thank you, and have a chuckle as I wave them goodbye. Same with all those campus groups back in college.
Without prothelitizing Christians, how would you get back from the bars during Spring Break? A little speech about Jesus is well worth a free ride back to hotel to drunkenly fornicate with a little hottie you just met at the bar!!:o

It's really easy to explain BG, it's called Freedom of Speech. If you don't like it, well tough shit. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but people are allowed to say what they will, it's not hurting anybody, and it's not like someone is going to read that and go, "you know what? I'm not going to believe in God anymore."
Would you prefer to live in a place where people are not allowed to say such things?
Whilst I agree that freedom of speech means they can say what they want you have to admit it's blatently antagonistic.
That's to say nothing of the sheer hypocrisy on display here These humanists literally run to the law courts every time there's a suggestion that evolution actually be critiqued in the classroom and, heaven forbid that kids might be indoctrinated with the idea that the universe might be intelligently designed. 'Keep it out of the classroom!' they cry, 'religion has no place mixing with science, bla bla bla'.
Yet they themselves have no qualms at all about trying to sabatage Christianity's greatest annual celebration with their positive message of meaningless and nothing
Plus it sounds all very nice to say you can have 'goodness for goodness sake' but what does that actually mean?
Without an absolute frame of reference you cannot have a system of morality as what constitutes 'good' is entirely the subjective opinions of each individual.
As it says in the book of Judges where it describes Isreal's decline into moral decadence and spiritual emptiness 'Without a ruler to judge them, everybody did what was right in his own eyes'.
That basis for morality always leads to complete shitness and the eventual collapse of every civilisation that has gone before us.
The Western world is now just going the way of Ancient Rome, it won't last much longer.

I have religion class next term. Looking forward to it actually as they are making me attend as they don't feel I will benefit from doing my usual laptop school work.
Yes, looking forward to it indeed. I anticipate much sleeping.

What fun a Catholic school!
Why dont you make it interesting and ask them a few questions.
Hey just for fun :;D ask them this: In Genesis page 1 it states that God said let there be light and there was light and it was the first day.
later on in the same chapter it says (a couple of days later) like on the 3rd day etc And God made the large light for the day and the lesser light for the night.
Ask them what the original light source was on the first day,if they make an excuse up about getting the verses slightly the wrong way around etc;they dont know and are are just parrot teachers going word for word ;leave them and go to sleep;). If they explain to you what that original light actually was ,please let us know their answer.
there is one I want to know if they know.
Also:
Strange how that the new "Lord God" showed up to Moses right when he needed a new explaination for his unrepentant followers to stick with him through the desert years!
So the Lord God shows up to Moses with a name change after Billions of years of creation had already been underway with commandments telling them what to do and they will be judged if they dont and vengence will be poured out on their m/asses for all eternity! Bit strange.
After all the same Bible says no one except Jesus has seen the one God even he says as much, later on in the same book; If the word of Jesus is true , who did Moses see up on the mountain?
So does this mean that the "Lord God" the vengeful one now called "Jehova" is a sub level part of the Original God "Elohim" the original creator of all that is.
That should get things interesting.
Oh and if you want an extended break from school ;D ask them why they changed Gods Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday? :DSAy to them "You represent the Catholic Church dont you"?,so why did the Roman Church do that?
want some more?;D

Interestingly theres a frame of refrence available in the Bible, that your not following
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
Your po'ed that people are co-opting a holiday the Christians themselves co-opted
And here you are kvetching about the fact that they would dare do that
Not very Christian

Nope, I'm not remotely bothered that they have decided they can gatecrash a Christian festival, as I said it's freedom of speech.
What I said if you bothered to read it properly was that it's blatently hypocritical of these humanists to cry foul and run to the law courts when Christians want to mention intelligent design in the classroom. They appear on the news telling us that Christians should save their message for the Sunday School and Christmas and yet they now want to force Christians to share their Christmas platform with them?
It's just hypocrisy, I personally think it's fine if humanists want to be able to promote an anti Christian Chrismas message, just don't go crying when Christians want to see evolutionary humanism actually critiqued in the classroom rather than accepted unquestionably as sacred dogma.;)

It is well known that these most of these 'other Jesus' figures derive not from ancient history but the writings of the modern poet and fake Egyptologist Gerald Massey, basically the Dan Brown of his era.
None of his rantings had any basis in historical fact.
He ''taught himself' to decipher the hieroglyphics and just happened to be a practicing pagan druid, in fact the chief of the druid order. He teamed up with some comparative religion scholar to try and link Christiantity to his form of druidic paganism, his works are completely disregarded as having any historical credibility whatsoever.
Regarding Horus his father was Osiris. He was murdered and his Goddess wife put him back together again. She couldn't find his cock so she fashioned him another one and then Horus was born, it's really stretching the imagination to say that was a virgin birth.
There was no star that heralded Horus birth outside of Masseys poems and he never had 12 disciples. He was actually served by some demi Gods, I think about 5 or so that followed him into battle, nothing whatsoever to do with Christ's 12 disciples.
Finally he killed by a scorpian bite not crucified.
It makes me laugh that people will jump to believe any crackpot claims if they diss Christianity even though none of that video had credibility whatsoever.
Just do a google on Gerald Massey and you'll see
