    Default Another Slight Against Christ

How anyone can say that the Christian faith isn't being singled out is mind-boggling.

Oh my God! How a private group spend their own money to encourage people to be moral individuals without using the fear of the wrath of what might well be a mythological being to compel them!

    AAAAAAaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

It's really easy to explain BG, it's called Freedom of Speech. If you don't like it, well tough shit. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but people are allowed to say what they will, it's not hurting anybody, and it's not like someone is going to read that and go, "you know what? I'm not going to believe in God anymore."

Would you prefer to live in a place where people are not allowed to say such things?

No, the almost 30 year old song, Jesus Entering Through The Rear, was a slight against Christ

Let me repeat what I've said in the 'doomed' thread couple blocks away. When the da Vinci Code came out in the theaters, I thought that the world, especially the Western world, was in for a big trouble. Then, the subprime mortgage crisis came and I thought this must be it, just maybe (the crisis started almost immediately after that). Coincidence? Hmmm, perhaps...

That God you believe in seems awfully vindictive.

It's not necessarily from God where it's coming from (and I didn't mean the devil either). Remember, I think differently but I've already made my mystical thoughts known at the other threads, and they are too long and arduous to repeat so I can't go into that here... Keep your mind open, CFH, keep 'em open.

How does that upset anyone that believes in a god? You need god to be good?

Of course, as evidenced by the actions of the Christians through out history. They have a lovely record of kindness, acceptance, and understanding, towards all living things.

One thing for sure, it is a sin and disrespectful to take the lords name in vain. I mean...try to be a bit more respectful for Christs sake.

I don't let religion guide my life in any way, never have, and I've always celebrated Christmas. I find this campaign really odd. To see a sign like that on a bus is weird. Of course a lot of christians are going to be a little upset over it. It just seems uncool for the Humanists to present their case in this way.

A quote from the leader of this "Humanist" Association...

"Our reason for doing it during the holidays is there are an awful lot of agnostics, atheists and other types of non-theists who feel a little alone during the holidays because of its association with traditional religion."

Sounds like horseshit to me. What, did he do a survey or something, or did he just imagine it was so to further his cause? Is their anyone here who knows any atheists or agnostics who would like to celebrate Christmas but don't because of its traditional religeous connotations? Not me, that's for sure.

Meh, Christmas is awesome. Easily one of my favorite days of the year....being an atheist, and a hypocritical one at that, going to a catholic highschool and all.

I suppose this may bother some hardcore religious fanatics as I likely appreciate it less for the religion, and more for the happiness, gifts and family. But then again, in the spirit of Christ, I like giving gifts...so possible the 'better to give then to receive' is not completely lost on me.

Christmas is as much, if not more, a secular holiday than it is a religious one. If some atheists or agnostics have a problem with it they can fuck off and grow a thicker skin. I hate this ridiculous PC bullshit.

I'm not sure of your point here. If some atheists or agnostics have a problem with what exactly?

    It was regarding this quote.

"Our reason for doing it during the holidays is there are an awful lot of agnostics, atheists and other types of non-theists who feel a little alone during the holidays because of its association with traditional religion."

Tough fucking shit if a religious holiday makes you feel a little alone. It's not even really a religious holiday anymore. No one forces you to view it as such.
