Re: Pac says..."he knew" !!!
It doesn't matter if Margarito sells tickets (he does btw, he is largely responsible for the biggest crowd in Staples history) nor does it matter if he knew or not. It also doesn't matter if Capitello was secretly putting the loaded pads on him, it's Margarito's responsibility. Ultimately the buck stops with him, there needs to be a sense of personal accountability. He doesn't need to go into the work he did with cancer patients when asked about the wraps. If he didn't know and that's the truth (doubtful but whatever), then say so and THEN be a man and say you were ultimately responsible. Only after that take the initiative to put the pressure on your trainer to find out if it had been done in the past. It really comes down to that, don't make people forget about. That's how a grown man should handle his tribulations, if he feels he is being persecuted then it's on him to explain himself adequately. We ALL know that he had those pads on versus Cotto and probably versus a host of other opponents. If not then you are being naiive.

Now you just being an idiot. If you know than lets see the proof. Were you there when he was getting them wrapped? It amazes me how Cotto groupies still cling to that lame excuse.
Re: Pac says..."he knew" !!!
you know what gets me? it's all these cotto fans having fits, stomping their feet like little children, because margarito got his license to fight in the u.s.. i truly believe that they cannot accept the fact that margarito absolutely ruined an undefeated cotto and made him QUIT. i'm willing to bet that if cotto had beaten margarito, this margarito/pacquiao fight wouldn't be very much an issue to them. these are fans who cannot accept margarito destroying their fighter. simple as that!
Re: Pac says..."he knew" !!!
Margarito should have been banned for life for what he did, no way he deserves this payday. Arum should be hung, drawn and quartered too.

I'm a Cotto fan (as I was a Margarito fan) but yeah if you think it is 'simple as that' then you are ridiculous. Did you read any of my post beside the Cotto part? That was the biggest win of his career, was just using it to illustrate a point. Honestly, I thought that on the night of the fight, it should have been canceled. I don't believe he should have been able to step in the ring and take any sort of money from fighting Mosley. So yeah, win or lose versus Cotto, I think everyone is owed an explanation. Just wondering, I'd like to know where I'm wrong beyond speculating that if he was had the pads on his hand 'without knowing' for a fight he was a 4/1 favorite in, how do we know the inverse, that he didn't have the pads in. Shouldn't he be going out of his way to clear his name?

hahaha i was one of the original guys on here defending Margarito, but the facts don't lie, there is no way in hell that Margarito didn't know what was on his hands, and even if he didn't (which i really doubt) he SHOULD have, it's his responsibility to know damned well what is being put onto his hands, same thing goes for Mosley's weak excuse that he didn't know that he was taking steroids, if you don't take my word for it backtrack and look for the threads from when Margarito was first being accused
it's obvious, he committed the worst crime that you can in ANY fight sport, he put the life/lives of his opponent/s in jeopardy and then just gets a slap on the wrist (the year ban) and then is rewarded with an undeserved title shot and career high payday
and milmascaras, i don't get why you defend him so much yet go on to bash and complain about another cheater in Rodel Mayol
compared to Margarito...Mayol looks like a saint...

There is no proof either way. It is uncertain whether he used them before. We have proof his trainer, Capetillo, tried to use them for the Shane fight and that Capetillo wrapped his hands for previous fights. Surely, at the least it is suspicious. Margarito himself had "no idea" that Capetillo was putting in the cement for the Shane fight, therefore, how would he know if Capetillo was putting them in for any previous fight? He, himself, has no idea. In fact, Capetillo admitted that he had used the cement wrap previously and neither of them denied that it had been used in the past. Every single fight on Margarito's record that Capetillo trained and wrapped him for should have an asterisk next to it and at the bottom of the page a statement saying that it is unsure whether he had cement wraps for this fight. At the end of the day, if Margarito is innocent, this sucks for Margarito because basically Capetillo tarnished every single win on his record because we'll never know if he had wrapped the gloves with cement. To me, this is what made me suspicious of Margarito's innocence. If you were in that situation, and you found out that your trainer had tarnished your reputation and put your career in jeopardy, wouldn't it have really ticked you off? I would have publicly denounced Capetillo immediately and called on all fighters to pay more attention to their trainers when they wrap hands. Margarito did nothing for a long time and actually maintains a relationship with Capetillo to this day.
Re: Pac says..."he knew" !!!
I think this sums up why the person I'm most angry with is Pacquiao. I expected this from the likes of Arum, Koncz and Margarito, even Roach to an extent as he tends to look out for his fighter's interests and he obviously doesn't see Margarito as a threat. But, despite all the PED bollocks, I did believe that Manny would have the integrity to not give this guy a payday. This is the only time I'm really planning to discuss this fight, as I won't be buying it or staying up to watch it and I don't want to even give it my time to think about. It's just a joke that this bastard has lucked into such a big payday after what he tried against Shane.

If that's the case wouldn't he have stopped Williams? Unless you think he only started wrapping them that way after the Williams fight. But some people say he only beat Cintron twice. So why do these cement wraps knock some people out while not stop others? They say it's the reason he beat Cotto and Cintron twice but offer no reason as to why they didn't stop Williams. You'd think if he was using them as consistently as that he'd have been knocking everyone out or at least roughing up their faces badly wouldn't he? So why were they so potent in the fight's with Cotto and Cintron, yet completely docile against Williams and Clottey?

That's easy. Cuz Tony didn't connect that much against Williams and Clottey.

he hit Clottey and Williams plenty especially in the last few rounds when he came on strong.

it could be what was just posted that he didn't really land against either guy or that he didn't have them for those fights, and if he didn't well rewatch them and he looked like shit in both fights, Clottey was schooling him until he hurt his hand, also it's not impossible to last the full 10 or 12 against a guy wearing loaded gloves....Collins went the distance against Resto....

You misunderstand me. I'm not saying he did or didn't use concrete wraps in his other fights. I'm saying his record is forever tarnished because we'll never know which fights, if any, he used concrete in for sure, now that he admits to not knowing there was concrete in his gloves as long as Capetillo did the wrapping. If Margarito didn't know about the concrete for the Shane fight, there is no way to know he knew for the other fightss.
And if he didn't know about the Capetillo's wrapping for the Shane fight, why didn't he publicly denounce Capetillo for putting his career in jeopardy? Why didn't he come down hard on him? Friend or not, not only did Capetillo put other fighter's lives in jeopardy, but he also put Margarito's ability to provide for himself and his family in jeopardy and his actions could have resulted in Margarito being incarcerated. But, Margarito didn't seem mad at Capetillo at all. Doesn't that sit funny with you?

So why were they so potent in the fight's with Cotto and Cintron, yet completely docile against Williams and Clottey?
Ah I understand you're basically saying that every fight is in question whether he did or not.
