Bad ass, what do you do up there?
I'm in Vancouver right now (originally from Victoria), but it looks like I'll be moving to Calgary in August.
I'm a public servant for the Territorial Government. I like Victoria and area. Used to go to Shawnigan Lake and pick fungus in another life.
I'm originally from Calgary. My older brother and parents still live there.
I'm a little concerned about Calgary to be honest. I'm moving there for grad school, so if I might well leave when I'm done, but the weather is going to be a HUGE change. Looking forward to the sunshine though.
Whats the major? I went to U of C. Winters can be tough but you get those Chinooks. At least its not dark all the time like it is here. If you are going to drive once there go downtown and master the one ways and the alleys. Weather is going to be huge for you. Wish I could sugar coat it lol.
Master of Social Work. I'm no 100% sure we'll be going, but it sure looks that way at the moment.
The cold is concerning, but I am looking forward to escaping the gloom that encompasses Vancouver for 9 months of the year.
That rain would get me down coupled with everyone wearing black. Might find myself on east hastings looking for an escape.
You picked a good study as everyone is a victim these days. Its a growth industry. You could be teaching basic language skills in a decade. You might get a few -30's but thanks to global warming they are now rare occurrences. The humidity level today is probably equal to the West coast. When I was a kid there it was 0 like the Sahara.
Well, the people I hope to work with are old and/or very sick, so they're not exactly victims in the traditional sense.
Dealing with the cold, should we go, will be very interesting though. So will not being near the ocean, but having the Rockies a short drive a way should be pretty cool.
