am currently experiencing my other life. N. Ont here Iminuit. lots of wilderness also. but prob would seem like Time Square to you.
I don't hunt. I enjoy the company of animals. Lots of grizzles up here. One of the last hold outs on the continent. Plenty of black bears also. I miss the trout fishing in Alberta. The rainbow fishing here are farm fed implants. 6 year life span with no streams to spawn. Only two places in the entire Yukon with indigenous rainbow and they are both catch and release. Monster lake trout here.
I don't hunt either. Well, the occasional partridge for a taste.
here is my favorite animal.

Whats the major? I went to U of C. Winters can be tough but you get those Chinooks. At least its not dark all the time like it is here. If you are going to drive once there go downtown and master the one ways and the alleys. Weather is going to be huge for you. Wish I could sugar coat it lol.
That rain would get me down coupled with everyone wearing black. Might find myself on east hastings looking for an escape.
You picked a good study as everyone is a victim these days. Its a growth industry. You could be teaching basic language skills in a decade. You might get a few -30's but thanks to global warming they are now rare occurrences. The humidity level today is probably equal to the West coast. When I was a kid there it was 0 like the Sahara.
Well, the people I hope to work with are old and/or very sick, so they're not exactly victims in the traditional sense.
Dealing with the cold, should we go, will be very interesting though. So will not being near the ocean, but having the Rockies a short drive a way should be pretty cool.
Great looking Dags! Cool Jeep too. I'd have it ragged out within 6 months with the crater size pot holes and washed out roads in what we know as everyday 'Nawlins![]()
That is very noble. The first winter will be tough. Up here it was brutal when I first moved. -45 sometimes for 3 weeks straight w/o a break. But the thing I found the hardest up here for the first few years was the darkness in the winter and it really not getting light out and then the reverse in the summer and it never getting dark. 40 minutes from Calgary and you are in the Rockies.
You need to put a 6 inch lift kit and mud king tires on that bad boy. Then it will be killer.
