Kennedy got the United States "illegally" involved in Vietnam via the Gulf of Tonkin Incident, and so on and so forth so acting all butt hurt about Iraq where an invasion WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NO MATTER WHO WON THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION is kind of a moot point.
#2 Much like Pearl Harbor people in the intelligence community knew AN attack could happen, but not what kind of attack, and not specific details.

#4 The last time a United States Ambassador was killed in the line of duty was Adolph Dubs, February 19, 1979 in Kabul, Afghanistan during a kidnapping attempt done by the Maoist Settam-e-Melli in which they wished to have the leader of their party freed. So Ambassadors being murdered isn't something that usually "just happens", in the case of Adolph Dubs, the US was attempting to free Amb. Dubs safely via diplomacy and before those talks went anywhere the Soviet aligned Afghanis attacked and Dubs was killed in the gun battle.
#5 "The Buck Stops Here", the famous slogan used by Harry S. Truman and every President thereafter....someone is responsible for the gross negligence that occurred in Benghazi and whoever that person or those persons are should pay for their negligence.....is it wrong to expect a President who PROMISED transparency actually provide it? Is it wrong to hold a President who is Commander-in-Chief accountable for inaction during a terrorist attack? Is it wrong to want clarification on why talking points were changed surrounding this event?
If this event happened under George W. Bush everyone else would be irate....you're all hypocrites...all of you.

I can read what I want and have no problems with it, but it is public and some of that information was revealed on non public forums. There isn't anything pompous about my post. There is not a legal precedent for when war is allowed or not. I think you confuse international law on how war is conducted with a non-existant legal basis to go to war. This is true for all countries not just the US and I never said different if you had any ability at objectivity you'd have realized that. We've had this conversation before and you were never able to provide the international legal binding document that prescribed when military action is "legal" or the legal body that rules on such things and typically resorted to threatening me with bodily harm. The act of going to war is a lot of things but it is not a matter of legality.

A war of aggression is illegal post WW2. Vietnam was illegal, Iraq was certainly illegal. America does not have the right to leave all rulings meaningless just because US lawyers say it is so. It is an absurd notion though Van Childs clearly studied at an American University and thus America should have a free pass here on after. Again Miles, provide the legally binding document that spells out the criteria of when a military operations are legal/illegal and what legal court rules on such matters. Something can't have a legal basis w/o a spelled out law and body that rules on such matters. Even things like the Geneva Convention accords are not internationally binding b/c not all countries signed all of them. I'll say again since you can't help but make this about your ignorant bigotry towards America. I don't hold the concept of war and legality only true for the US. I'm not sure how where I went to college has any bearing on this topic. It is part of my job to have a thorough understanding of the Law of Landwarfare. Particularly to keep myself and my subordinates out of prison. Needless to say I think I have a much better understanding of these issues than you.
