He falters and gets stopped.
I agree it's sink or swim time for him.
I think he'll do it and do it well. We'll see anyway.
This is Khans problem and always has been.
He likes to mix it and have a tear up too much ala Joe Calzaghe.
Thing is Joe had a granite chin and Khan doesn't and never will have.
He can't help himself when he wants to crowd please.
Inexperience..? (maybe) and your right we will see soon enough but unless Roach has had him on some sort of "Chin Gym" or seriously and dramatically got him fighting differently and to a plan that he'll stick too i don't see him lasting past the 5th round.
Do you not wonder why Barrera is fighting in gyms in China against opponents who have been ko'd quicker by Wes Ferguson, Robert Guerrero and Jason Litzau?

Of course when that happens i'll give it ten minutes before a 'Barrera is shot' thread appears on here.
Khan will get zero credit for this win from a lot of people because the fight won't even be close.
Sounds about right. Every British fighter who defeats a big name is never given credit by the worldwide public, they just automatically label the opponent as shot or overrated. Tsyzu, Castillo, Lacy, Hopkins, etc all come to mind in recent history, among many others.
I think Khan is also underrated by just about everyone who call thereself a hardcore boxing fan... I see Khan winning by stoppage or UD, although more likely a easy UD.
well since you mention it, KT was past it as were Castillo and Hopkins, Lacy was green.
But many younger fighters have been fed older fighters as a test of how they are developing. It shouldn't be considered the same as beating someone in their prime which some fans seem to think it is.

I know why he fought in China. I know why he's fighting full stop.
Litzau is still 19-0 which is more than can be said for Khan. I can use boxrec as well.

You say that like it is a crime to use it.
It doesn't take away from the fact that he is in fact fighting against complete bums at this stage of his career....regardless of how many people use Boxrec as a resource (how it's an any different from any other resource baffles me).

As far as I can see Barrera is going up a weight and building into it. Khan has always fought bums and lost to one in a minute. This is most likely Khan's meltdown time. And I can't wait!! :D
Re: Is Khan being stitched up?
It wasn't the fact that you used it, it was the way the names were dropped in as if we would have any idea who they were.:D
Ok. His first fight a new weight coming out of retirement. Who would have been suitable?

Are you saying Prescott was a bum? Thet's be honest here, he was far from a bum. He had a almost perfect KO percentage and he hit as hard as any other lightweight.. being unknown and fighting unknown fighters doesn't always make you a bum.
I wish people would stop using the Prescott fight as an example why Khan is going to lose. The circumstances are so different in this fight.
- Khan has a world class trainer in his corner.
- Khan will undoubtably of learned his valuable lesson about rushing into fights.
- Prescott no doubt hits alot harder than Barrera ever has.
- Prescott was alot younger and fresher than Barrera is, not to mention more hungry.
And so on.. Barrera is a new type of opponent for Khan, just as Prescott was. He may of fallen at the first hurdle, but why do so many people give him shit for wanting to get back up and try again?!

nah I think the shit started when after 3 or 4 fights he said he could beat floyd mayweather.....over 4 rounds;D

You know who Wes Ferguson and Robert Guererro are don't you? Off the top of my head i know Ferguson lost to Edner Cherry twice i think. One was a quality KO iirc.
Guererro is a solid fighter, held a title for a short while down at featherweight i think. He beat Litzau. Litzau is a cocky, flashy, arrogant sort of fighter who's ego looks a lot bigger than his talent. You probably know more about those fighters than i do. ;)
That's my point....nobody is suitable because MAB should have stayed retired and when he gets beaten by Kahn everybody on here will be saying it.

Prescott is not a fighter that I would regard as a world level fighter. He might have an unbeaten record but he hasn't beaten anybody. And I include Khan amongst that list. Let's be honest, only an idiot can get sparked in a minute.
Each of your points are there for the taking.
Roach has been great with Pac. But beyond that I actually cringe.
Khan will learn? Well, I don't think he will be stopped in a minute.
Prescott hits harder than Barrera? What do you have that off as a reckoning? Utter bollocks. I disagree.
Keep the Prescott comparisons coming. He's younger.....great argument.
Barrera will thrash this punk over more than a few rounds. And it will hopefully be the end of this Khan drivel!

Perhaps he feels his time and money would be better used with his recent amateur signings?
Thoughts on this theory?
I just think Sky have paid alot of money to have kahn on there channel and i think they want value for money aswell and not wanting pissed off customers having to pay 15 quid to watch Kahn against some shit fighter, i think Frank had nowhere to go, i mean he is taking a calculated risk which i think could well back fire, sky have probably demanded a challanger like a Murray or a Thaxton for it to be ppv worthy, which in all truth brings nothing to the table if your Kahn and Warren both loose loose situations, dangerous assignments and little reward if goes well, where as Barrera is a name who is on the slide and if Kahn looks good it will ease the pressure a little in terms of fighting top opponents, i think Warren had no choice it all went tits up after him being sparked by Prescott.
Re: Is Khan being stitched up?
ono - lol. I swear I'm coming over there to beat you down;D
Look for a fan it's an important fight. I missed the official retirement fight.
I'm going to support my favourite boxer whom I never thought I'd get to see fight again. If he loses he retires (a loss on any of those comeback/warm-up fights would have meant the same). I will be there cheering like a loon. If he wins, fantastic. We get maybe one more last hurrah and then it's all over. For good this time. I refuse to let you put doubt in my mind.;D
Re: Is Khan being stitched up?
Barrera was clearly carrying the two cab drivers.
Obviously he is past his best - but has shown no sign of being shot to the extent of taking one decent punch then diving on the floor shaking his head at the corner. ;)

For someone who apologised to GBP for dishonouring their company after losing to Pac I don't see that happening at all.

Neither do I.
I also don't think Khan will blast Barrera out early - which i think is his best shot.
So a Barrera quit job is the only way I see Khan winning... unless Barrera goes through the motions taking the piss.. but even then he might "accidentally" shatter chinny's jaw ;D
