Hopkins claims to be the American Dream and I agree with him. The thing is that the American Dream is utter bullshit. It rewards by lying, cheating, stealing and killing. ...well to be quite honest I'm afraid of giving Bernard Hopkins the proper credit and attention he deserves because he's not white.
As the average boxing fan my friends and I have always been able to avoid giving proper attention and credit to black and non white fighters as the "Old Boys Club" of boxing has always been the sport of the white man....much like Ice Hockey and NASCAR. But now with Bernard Hopkins FINALLY at the peak of his career, the prime of his life, being able to be the first black man to ever win a boxing match in the history of the sport....I have to tell you, I am absolutely terrified of it.
But I guess all us white people have to come to terms.....we no longer own the entire sport of boxing......what will we lose next the NBA?!?!?!?!

His reputation as the most dirty boring boxer of all time? His reputation and legacy are built on the length of his career. I'm convinced that his longevity has been aided by use of PEDs which I believe he began using years ago. Surely he used some kind of steroid to recover from the horribly painful injury he sustained against Dawson.

Quite the anomaly he was for those times. First African descended world champion in history at a time when it was unheard of. His incomplete record at boxrec does him no justice at all.
