Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
I don't think I have ever wanted to see a fighter punch the other guy in the balls as much as I do right now.
-
Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
Lol this hack ref called a push a kd and a kd a push.
-
Stands on the outside lands three clean ones and jumps in to tie up wtf???? Fuck wlad wtf for are you tyin up for
-
Wlad looks as though he should be in another heavyweight divison. So huge.
Wlad is in perfect shape as always.
Boring but effective.

If you can get away with it, why not? All the greats have resorted to nasty tactics at times.

Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
Puerto Rican ref has no fucking idea how to ref. I'm not surprised.
-
Manny would have a gun to klits head at this pt to ko povetkin or he's getin it to the skull
-
Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
Size is not an advantage for Wlad.

Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
Brunette in the camo short shorts wins round 9. Easily.

Of course they do, but Wlad bases his entire style around it (perhaps because he is so afraid to get hit). I don't blame him for doing it either, but it leads me to conclude that he is not a great fighter, just a very effective one.
Put him in there with a fighter of equal size and comparable skill who won't let him get away with that shit and lets see what happens.

Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
Povetkin: He keeps leaning on me and pushing my head down
Ref: You're the one going inside

I'm done with Wlad. Defended him many times, but this is utter unbearable drunken tough man contest garbage.

I would not. He does it by being bigger than his opponents and by, essentially, cheating. It's a shame too, because he is such a classy, intelligent guy.

Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
To be fair to Klitschko, I've seen Muhammad Ali stink out the joint and win fights exactly like this more than a few times. People remember Rumble in the Jungle, ect, but they forget that Ali also employed a jab and grab style very similar a lot of the time.
-
Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
That is the most meaningless point deduction I have ever seen.

Yeah this one just boggled my mind, pushin tyin for no reason, lands a bunch of clean shit then ties up for no reason at all its insane shit

Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
povetkin could still win a decision...

If you can be the greatest by simply being bigger than your opponent, Shaq would have been world champion for years.
This is a very calculated style, and he's taking what's being given. I've seen Ali do the same shit, and no one would question his greatness.

That's true. He only needs about 11 knock downs in the 12th to do it.
-
Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
Ref: I'm taking a point Wlad. Can't do that
Wlad: Shut the fuck up. I do what I want

I defend his jab n grab style, have done so for years, but its nonstop in this fight and for no reason, hell have sasha backin up after landing a few clean ones on him n he jumps in to tie up???? Utter insanity

I don't watch basketball, but was Shaq not a dominant player who won championships?
And regarding Ali, he was long before my time and I have honestly onyl seen a couple of his fights, so I can't fairly comment on him. All I know is that this is not boxing and this is not the way a great fighter handles himself within the ring.

All of a sudden the ref wants to ref.

He has every advantage known and clear size and one of the better jabs in sport today...this ain't jabbing and clinching, this is leading off with tie ups and forcing weight as weapon, Hes a literal backpack
When Wlad BOXES he will clean this guy out and end it
-
Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
And that's why the Povetkin camp never really wanted the Wlad fight

Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
God what an ugly shit fight that was.
-
Props to povetkin he came to fight and showed a ton of heart, made a fan of me , wlad should be ashamed for that shitfest can't defend this performance at all uterlly shameful n ridicelous wlad should have had two pts taken by rd 4 or 5 n he may actually have started fighting in stead of hugin n pushin, dam just a stinker by wlad

I mean Shaq would be a world boxing champion if all it took was being huge.
I'm with you in the fact that a fight like this is a disgrace to boxing, but I can't act like Wlad is the only guy in the history of boxing to do this shit. This kind of garbage is why people don't give a fuck about HW boxing.
-
Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
That was a dire fight. Wlad was rattled.

That's what I didn't understand when he boxed n threw punches sasha had no chance, I really think manny would have lost his dam mind in this fight

Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
119-104 x3......wow. Thats some shit. Thought Povetkin won 4 rounds, at least.
-
Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
worst fight i've ever seen.

Ah, I misunderstood.
Wlad is not the old guy to do it, but his whole style is based around, essentially, cheating, and he does it blatantly and with no consequences. It's incredibly frustrating.
-
Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
Took no damage. Gets a 17 million dollar check. Goes home and fucks Hayden. Who the fuck wouldn't wanna be Wlad?
-
My dad roots for klitscko, n doesn't mind his style usually, even he turned off somewhere in the middle...
-
Re: KLITSCHKO v POVETKIN - HBO/BOXNATION - Saturday Night CHAT THREAD
If refs dqed or took points for holding Ali would lost a lot of fights Wald lost his mentor been champ for a decade and i am not sure he gives a fuck anymore. Not to mention i am not sure how old Wald is but he has got to be getting up there in his years maybe he might call it a day but 20 mill fight is nice though so maybe he sticks around for a while and just stacks up more cash. Hw boxing will take off when there is a am champ again so like in another 20 years or so and i think we are going to be good.
