Think about it. When was the last time you fucked a bird without buying her something (including taking her out or cooking for her) first?
Been married for almost 10 years, I can say with the utmost conviction this is not true.
I'm sorry to hear that you have to pay for sex though.
You've never bought your wife anything?
You don't put a roof over her head?
you've never put food on the table?
you've never taken her out?
you didn't buy a ring to put on her finger?
You didn't go on a honeymoon?
You didn't take her out or buy her a gift each year on your anniversary?
You've never bought her a christmas or birthday present?
Do I need to go on?
Yeah I pay for sex, I'm just not ashamed of it and I don't try to hide it or lie to myself about it. ;)
Come to think of it the only people who don't pay for sex are rapists. But even then more than likely they're going to serve some jail time so it's swings and roundabouts.
You can go on if you want, but that doesn't change the fact that when we met, I didn't buy her so much as a drink before we had sex for the first time, the next time she came over to my house and we didn't get to dinner. We split all our bills 50/50, we both share the burdens of bringing home money and spending on what we need. Of course I've taken her out for dinner and bought her things, but the sex came first, she's done that same for me. We split the costs of our wedding and honeymoon. I'm sure there will be a layer of semantics you will introduce here, but there you go, did not pay for sex. Your premise is false.
As much as recent things have been rocky, this has always been the case for us too. My wife is many things, but a prostitute isn't one of them. Hornfinger seems to have a very misogynistic point of view in this regard.

But miles will talk to anyone, so long as it is not the wife.
She gets the silent treatment and new "Rice Cookers" ;D
Hmm.
No, she's okay really. We talked a lot yesterday. She seems to have found a new company position that pays almost as much as what I earn. I am impressed, but feel a little threatened. Still, at least my vacation is much more and this undersized apartment comes with the job too. Anything to make me feel more manly. :-\
It seems a lot of our problems have also stemmed from her insecurities about not finding good work here and being frustrated about being unable to work. She has kind of lashed out at me a little bit as she gave up her settled previous job to relocate. So yeah, I was noisy one night and we had a fight and then a couple more, but she admits that she has been a bit cruel to me too. I agree that it's not cool to relocate and earn 40% less.
At finding a job, she has perked up no end. It also destroys Hornfingers notion that all women are prostitutes. Many want to earn money in legit ways just like men, to invest and secure their future and the future of their families. A prostitute would leech off of me year in year out, but my wife has never done that. What we have in assets is about half in her name and she has probably earned it.
Now we could venture into the notion that working 'for the man' is prostitution. But then that would make all men prostitutes too and likely Hornfinger too as well. I don't think that is a correct way of thinking.
Re: Long Distance Relationships
I'm really shocked that a smooth talker like hornfinger doesn't have poontang being thrown at him left and right.

LOL how do you know I don't?
Seriously though. It's just the way I feel. I work as a Dj every friday and saturday night. I also work at the same venue as crew for touring bands and pop singers. Musical acts that most of you on here have heard of or own music by. That is what I do for a living when not doing guitar lessons.
When I'm djing I get a veiw of the entire venue cuz I'm up on a high stage. You can see who does and doesn't get the women. And I'm telling you the guys who look the richest are the ones that get the women.
I see how women behave around the rich and famous bands that we have on.
The woman will always gravitate to the man that has most to offer her, money, housing, security.
All women have a price. You can live in as much denile of it as you like but it's a cold hard fact that we all try to ignore.

Even after facts prove you wrong you return to your narrow view of a single venue as a microcosm representation of the entire world.
Re: Long Distance Relationships
Yep, I don't think groupies or nighclubs are the best way to gauge attitudes and behaviour concerning the opposite sex. Of course groupies and people who hang out in clubs several days a week are more likely to be skanky. Most women are not like that though and I really don't think they 'have a price'.
Hornfinger, you should probably change jobs and see more of the real world. The world you are in is a small snapshot and is that alone.
Re: Long Distance Relationships
That kinda blows me away HF. So your equating a relationship and a womans company to what 'socially' breaks down in a club scene or venues for popular bands? Where a good portion going in are mingling to hook up in one form or fashion and alcohol tends to flow. Clubs are breeding grounds for status clingers on a whole different level.
Re: Long Distance Relationships
As to the OP, before HF hijacked the thread.
Long distance relationships are really tough. They are possible, but at your age quite frankly it will be extra tough. I wish you happiness in this whole this regardless of how it turns out. Your world is going to change significantly over the next few years.

To 'see the world' you need money and the time and want to do it. I have neither of those things. I enjoy my job it gives me free time to do the things I love doing and it pays very well. I have a lot going on in my life and can not afford to take time out from persuing my goals to visit countries that to be honest, I don't really want to visit. Travelling has never appealed to me.
In my opinion I SEE the real world. Others choose not to because they are afraid of what the reality is.

No not nessacarily. Due to the varity of music and acts I see at work I see alot of different parts of society. It's not just one section of society that listens to music, goes to clubs or goes to live events. I personally believe I see a wide cross section of society, from kids who come to see pop acts to your people collecting pensions who come to see their fave band that was popular 40 years ago.
In a building where tickets are bought for recreational purposes is where people behave how they want to behave, rather than the corperate face they put on from 9-5 in their day job.

Neato, you're a slave to binary thinking. Of course the whole world is delusional and you're the only one that sees the truth. Enjoy being a John :D
Re: Long Distance Relationships
No, I wasn't suggesting moving to other countries or travelling. Just saying that groupies and club addicts are not a reflection of most of the decent, lasting relationships that take place in the real world. Sure there are trashy women and some will surrender themselves to some mid range indie band guitarist and there are ditzy nighclub types who will hook with whoever flashes the credit card, but those are not a reflection of society at large. They are a reflection of that world and that world alone. Of course you are going to get deluded and drunken fools acting like tits. It doesn't make all women prostitutes though, that is extremely misogynistic.
Re: Long Distance Relationships
*People who collect pensions and music that was popular 40 years ago* ;D come on HF mate, that has Sugar daddy written all over it. Your days of running to tha ATM and stuffing plain white envelopes will be over in no time.
I mean really though. Every musical act known to man has groupies, no?

Enjoy your fat ugly wife :lolhaha:
Usually you don't settle down and marry a bird that opens her legs for you after a couple of hours talking at a rave. That's a real classy catch you got there! Kinda highlights my point well actually....
