Hattons footwork is barmy and only a little bit slacker than Manny's. If Hatton closes the gap and unloads in close, it's a certainty that Pac is going to get hit. Either Pac or Hatton must be a weird shaped fucker. This idea that Pac has 5 inch longer arms than Ricky seems weird t ome considering their reach is only 2 inches different.
I did some measurements on myself to see who seems more normal.

My reach is 71 inches
My arms from top of shoulder are both 25.5 inches
So gap between shoulders is 20 inches.

If your stats are correct Hattons shoulders are 25 inches. Dam thats wide, and Pacs are only 17. I cannot believe Hattons shoulders are 8 inches wider than Pacs!

I would imagine that many of Hattons opponents have had either height or reach advantages over him. In fact it has often suited Hattons style, and explains why he has often neglected the jab and instead just bullied his way inside using his quick feet. Against Pac who has only the slight reach advantage I imagine that Hatton will mix it up more.

I don't think anybody can seriously suggest that Hatton is not the naturally bigger man here. Pac will do everything he can to make it an outside fight, and that's because Hatton will bully him to the ropes if he doesn't. Hatton is significantly stronger IMO.

Pac's arms 5" longer. With a Straight Puncher like Pac, I don't know how Hatton deal with Straight Left & Jabs. You might counter that Hatton already deal with other longer armed fighters but I'm sure Hatton was the quicker guy in those fights. In this fight Pac has the quicker & Longer arsenal & also the Greater Chin. I don't see Hatton winning this fight.

Reach measurements are from the tip of the hands up to the other tip of the hands(Fingers). The better gauge is Arm's lenght which is from Armpit to end of he fist or Knuckle. You don't punch sideways or punch with your fingertips. From Knuckel to face, that's the true important measurement of Fighters advantage on landing n the face & Body.

I imagine Hatton's body is somewhat wider than Pac's. That is because he is actually bigger than Pac. When that body is crushing down upon you, it isn't so easy to hit it, and it wears you down. I can see that happening a bit in my Emeralds of Enchantment. ;)

It's not quite as simple as you like to paint it. You always seem to operate in either/or terms. In fact, your intial statement confounds me a little.

If you mean by height they are even then I might be inclined to agree with you. But in terms of build, are they bollocks equal. Hatton is the stronger, bigger man. He has been at this weight for years and is a natural JWW, he has twice fought at WW. Pac has had just a few fights ouside of 130 pounds. As you admit Hatton is a margin wider, he is a bigger man. In terms of speed Pac has a handspeed advantage. But Hatton is no slouch in that department. My only concern is that Hatton should reign in those leaping hooks somewhat and use the jab more to work his way in. Pac is a little faster, but Hatton throws harder and more meaningful blows. Hatton can bully Pac because you are paying scant regard to Hattons footwork, which is exceptional. It is not easy to keep Hatton at a distance. Not even Mayweather could do it without Cortez. Hatton is on you in a flash, and once you are smothered he will bully you. Hatton is excellent at cutting off the angles and getting you where he wants and Pac will be no different here. Then that "wide" body will be pushing and those "little" arms will be working and all of a sudden it isnt so funny.

Hatton will land, and that little pixie won't be able to run forever. He will back Pac up, hurt him, and his back will touch those ropes. And eventually he will start to linger there longer than he wants. Of course, I could be totally wrong. But then again, so could you.

I think Pac gets crushed by Hatton Pac vs Oscar Oscar werent their from the 1st round it was obvious i think pac is abit hyped up in my opinion. Don't get me wrong i think he is a very good fighter but his best wins have come against washed up fighters coming to the end of there top level career Barrera,Morales and Oscar and David Diaz was a very limited fighter even though the win over Oscar was a good one the weight situation takes abit out of the win so you can say we still have to see how good and strong he is above lightweight because the Oscar fight didnt give us these answers because it was just target practice. 1) Different fight and a different opponent. Hatton is still in his prime and fighting at his optimum weight. It's safe to say that Oscar wasn't prime and certainly not at his optimum weight. Hatton still has the size advantage IMO.

2) We agree. Too many leaping hooks = not such a bright idea. Hatton cannot afford to get too sloppy. Pac is not Maussa.

3) The backing up aspect is an intriguing one. Hatton doesn't like to step back. Pac can do that but as has been noted elsewhere, he rarely let's you get him onto the ropes. I like to think Hatton can bull him there more than you think, but that is just opinion.

4) I don't want to see a hugfest either, but I do want to see Hatton given the opportunity to work on the inside once he gets there. I cannot imagine Pac having the strength to get into too much of that with Hatton.

5) Hatton does cut easily, that is true. One of my main worries TBH. I don't think Manny can stop Hatton except for cuts.
