Floyd cares and he doesn't care if the fans care or not.
He feels he will be bringing in the majority of the PPV money and so he should receive a greater share.
It's not something that fanboys or haters can even argue over, its just the negotiations between the fighters. I want the fight to happen immensely and I don't care if one agrees to a 99-1 split but the fighters themselves care and therin lies the problem.
Re: Mayweather: "If Manny wants it, I'll pay Juan to step aside"
I don't know if its obvious if one guy is bigger than the other, their the two biggest draws but just saying Floyd did more buys is ignoring some obvious factors influencing that which Truth mentioned.
Except for both Pacquaio fights being mismatches. Yes with ODLH but not Hatton. Unless you mean the Hatton fight was thought of as a mismatch in Manny's favor? I don't think it was thought of as a mismatch either way, a lot of people were going with Hatton.

In terms of PPV buys it's obviously harder to determine who the buyers were following but no doubt Oscar Dela Hoya and Ricky Hatton brought a shit load to the table in terms of Buying power.... The fact that Floyds most recent fight aint selling so well further supports my point.
But Oscar/Hatton had the same HUGE followings when they fought Pacquiao. Why did they only do half the sales then?
We can only take from these numbers that, to the public, fights between Oscar/Mayweather & Hatton/Mayweather were more intriguing than Oscar/Pac & Hatton/Pac matches.
Also, were the reports of the fight not selling true? I remember hearing rumors but no evidence was presented. I read a report from a Golden Boy rep that said the rumors were false. Are they still rumor or were they proven fact?
Like I've said real fight fans just wanna see a good fight, most don't care who gets the lions share but the diehard fanboys of either fighters.
I don't give a shit if Pacman gets 40% of the purse or Floyd gets 60% of it and vice versa, I just want to see a good fight.
Are you working for Floyd?
Actually i'm not. I'm just a fan of boxing and would like to see this match happen because it is the best fight possible and would determine which fighter will claim the "boxer of the decade" throne.
All i see is one guy calling out the other, and the other saying nothing about it. One guy willing to pay out of pocket to make his #2 ranked opponent get out of the way so he can get at the #1 guy, and the other guy saying nothing.
The money thing shouldn't be the deciding factor for Pacquiao & his camp. The proof has been presented and the bottom line, the profit, favors Mayweather.
I'm a fan of both fighters and would support both of them but there should be no reason why this isn't being negotiated. Mayweather said he wants it, does Pacquiao? If this fight doesn't happen, who should we blame? The guy saying he's willing to pay out of pocket to get it or the guy who hasn't even issued a statement about it yet?
Re: Mayweather: "If Manny wants it, I'll pay Juan to step aside"
What happened to Floyd wanting a "tune-up" fight to ease back in the game? If Floyd wanted Pac that bad maybe he should have waited until after Pac beat Hatton to come out of retirement, instead of announcing his fight with JMM right before the Hatton/Pac fight. I'm sure had that been the case the Mayweather/Pac fight could have been made by now.
Re: Mayweather: "If Manny wants it, I'll pay Juan to step aside"
^But why can't it be done now? Pacquiao isnt signed to fight anybody, in fact he's looking for an opponent. Mayweather is willing to pay out of pocket to free himself to fight Pacquiao.
I just want to see the effort from Pacquiao & his people to get this fight signed. This is the fight the people want, he's wifdely regarded as a people's champ. Give the people what they want. Or atleast make an effort to.

I was thinking the same thing also. It was the day before Hatton-Pacman that Floyd announced he's fighting JMM. What he couldn't wait a few days after the fight to start negotiating with Pac? But instead waits after he signed a fight deal with JMM and now comes out with this.
Floyd fanboys have to look at that instead of coming into this thread and blaming Pacman for not making the fight happen when he's in negotiation with Cotto and Floyd is getting ready to fight JMM.

I'm with you man; I'd love to see the fight. It could be done now; but the Cotto negotiations are still going on so who knows? I'm just saying some of this could have been alleviated if Floyd and his "tune up" fight would have been put on the back burner. Just cause' Floyd says "jump" now doesn't mean Pac should. Maybe that's it; Pac's camp being stubborn. How would I know?;D
Re: Mayweather: "If Manny wants it, I'll pay Juan to step aside"
;D knodaledge you do realize JMM has a say in this right?
Some people are taking this offhand comment from Floyd too seriously, its not happening. The Floyd/Pac debate starts for real after the JMM fight, if he wins obviously.

Good. And yeah I know and said yesterday I hope JMM says hell no to the take a walk $$$ just to spite him. It's insulting to me. But what if he takes the money to walk? What then?;D
Re: Mayweather: "If Manny wants it, I'll pay Juan to step aside"
I'd be pretty shocked. I know its a free million dollars but JMM is a fighter who thinks he has a chance to win (I'm sure) and he gets 4 million for fighting. This could be his last huge payday, 3 mill more is a big difference. And I don't really know who he can big money with outside of these two, maybe by brutalizing Ricky.
If it does well that changes things ;D
Re: Mayweather: "If Manny wants it, I'll pay Juan to step aside"
and who even knows if Floyd even thinks its a good idea today ;D
Floyd's not a brilliant orator, he gets bothered and says stupid stuff. It seems from reading the thing it was fairly offhand.
Until I hear more about it I don't see a reason to take it seriously.

Yeah he is a fighter; and he's got to be at least somewhat peeved about this snubbing{if it's true} And hell yeah 4 mil is alot better even should he lose than 1 mil; and then years from now people saying "he was scared and took the lunch $$ and ran". Can't see it. Hope I don't see it.
And how funny a farewell fight for Hatton in UK only to get steamrolled by a geezer this time.;D

He does have a say, but not enough of a say to stop a Pac/Mayweather fight. Mayweather could just decide he's not going to fight JMM. He'll breach contract & I'm sure he'll have to pay a monetary penalty & maybe even take a ban in nevada, but the fight could be sanctioned anywhere. No body in their right mind would refuse to allow a Pac/Mayweather match.
There's ways around contracts & if it brings about the BEST FIGHT POSSIBLE, I'm all for it.
Again, I dont think Pacquiao MUST take the fight. If the stipulations aren't worthy, fine. But his people should at least be pushing for it now. Issue a statement at least.

Didn't I say the same thing yesterday Ouma? ;)
On a different note, I heard the UFC are putting up a show against this fight.
Re: Mayweather: "If Manny wants it, I'll pay Juan to step aside"
one thing i dont want to happen is if pbf demands the lions share on pac. its pretty obvious now that pac should be getting the upper hand money wise. if pbf wants it he should agree to pacs terms not his. if he still insists to get the lion share then thats an indication that pbf doesnt want to fight pac.
