Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
Another excuse for Hatton to dodge Witter.
(that's a joke.. just in case )
BBC SPORT | Boxing | Mayweather 'wants Hatton rematch'
Richard Schaefer, head of Golden Boy promotions, said: "It's very likely that Floyd will come over next spring.
"Floyd and his manager Al Hayman are very serious about it."

Re: Floyd-vs-Witter Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
perhaps you could ad cotto-dodger, make it a fight for the dodgers.

Fuck! Wish I'd thought of that.. but I don't really have a problem with the Cotto-dodger like i do the Witter dodger ;D

Re: Floyd-vs-Witter Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
I reckon this was always going to happen now - the initial match though was too one sided for it to happen straight away
See my post from mid December about a chat I had with a guy on the flight over to Vegas ;) (a non-gay chat of course)
http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingfor...tml#post429412
They just need Hatton to beat Lacazno (or whatever he is called) and then Malignaggi to establish himself again - as said they also have the excuse of the referee business.
They can sell out wembley no problem - which could be what ? £75 for the cheap seats ??
Money talks - though I don't see a different outcome in what would be Hatton's last fight...
Only Lacazno, Malignaggi, DLH or The Big Show can ctop it now ;)
-
Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
If it does happen I got money that Steve Smoger gets picked to ref it.
-
Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
Well a rematch between Floyd vs Hatton , i think Hatton don't have nothing more to show , what they want another Big Purse , i think that going convert just in another game like ODLH vs Floyd.........:-\ That is if that happen......

Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
Floyd wants the fight because there are a limited number of fights where he can earn huge money and this is one of them. I think it'll be an English ref, which means that Floyd is confident he can beat Hatton even if he's allowed to hold/maul etc.
Once Hatton sold fifty thousand tickets in five minutes to fight a never was this became an obvious earner for both guys.
-
Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
I hope this fight doesn't happen. At least Floyd vs Oscar 1 was competitive, the Hatton fight was just an embarrasment.
I have to say that if Floyd does indeed fight Oscar and then signs for a Hatton rematch I will have to join Danny G in voicing for him to be stripped of his welterweight title.:-X
Hatton brings nothing to the table whatsoever. He demonstrated emphatically last time out that he was in way over his head. The only good that will come of this fight is another amusing avatar for Violent D :-\
-
Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
I too would have to say that Floyd should be stripped of the WBC title if this fight came off...but it would damn sure be fun to watch Floyd kick his arse again just 30 minutes down the road from me ;D
This is how I think Floyds last 4 matches should be before he ends his career (with this match in mind) :-
Oscar
Cotto \
Hatton/ (the order of these 2 are interchangeable, Hatton may make a nice warmup for Cotto)
Pacquaio
Mayweather remains undefeated and fittingly beats the number 2 p4p fighter in the world to solidify his status as the best boxer of this generation. Sorted!

There you go, you are finally seeing the light. ;D
Just like I said yesterday, and today, Floyd will fight Oscar, which will end in either a draw or a win for Oscar, which will then set up a more lucrative rubbermatch. But before the rubbermatch, Floyd will fight Hatton in the bigger arena, in order to get more money out ticket sales because of the arena size. He'll beat Hatton, and then fight Oscar again, in which they will hype it as the two best fighters, fighting for the last time. Then they will both retire, while laughing at all the suckers that bought into it. ;D

gotta agree Judah, and Baldimir deserves a rematch before hatton... but hatton does bring something to the table and that is his fans and $$$$$$ hell his next fight supposedly sold thousands of tickets and if its not all to touts that is some feat for a mismatch but floyd vs hatton 2 would be a massive event in the UK but lets not kid ourselfs that its for anything other than money....
sure it would be great for Floyd to come to the UK but FFS floyd fight Cotto and Hatton fight Witter... whats wrong with these greedy bastards

Bit unfair seeing as Hatton was ahead on the cards until the knob of a ref deducted a point from an phantom 'illegal' punch.

Just to clarify, anyone who has seen Junior fight knows there would be nothing to fear.

Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
Forget Smoger or any other conditions - the first thing Hatton's team should do is make sure it's at 140 or a catchweight of no higher than 143. Because at 147 Hatton isn't worth a shit.
Either way, it's pretty obvious that this is about money otherwise the average fight fan would much rather see Floyd/Cotto and Hatton/Witter...:(

Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
I said for a joke Mayweather would have rematches with ODH and Hatton before he fights Cotto and it really may happen. Complete and utter crap. Hatton has no right asking for a rematch, the ref excuse is not enough of one. He got embarrassed in that fight but he is willing to do it again for the money. Bitch. Mayweather, I know will do anything to avoid a fight against a hungry and dangerous Welterweight.

The one piece of good news in all this is that they are suggesting Hatton must first get past Pauli Malignaggi.
Hopefully Paulie can put on the fight of his life and beat Fatton thus forcing Floyd to step up and face a real opponent.
-
Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
I do not want Hatton to loose to Paulie, his ego would be bigger than it is already. I just hope he does the decent thing and stay at light welter and fight Witter next year.

IF ONLY the Witter-dodger believed that ;)

Well, you all know I'm a massive Hatton fan. Truth be told he's a proud man, and I believe he has every right to ASK for a rematch to try and avenge his only defeat, although I don't think he should get it. I give Danny G all the credit in the world as he called this. I didn't really see a rematch coming.

You don't need to give him any credit, once he gets on here he'll be absolutely insufferable :-X:p

Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
No worse than Margarito - Cintron rematch imo.
If Hatton believes he can win, good on him for going up against a guy who's just ko'd him.
This is something Mayweather is obviously doing for the money. Can't blame him really. I know what i'd do ;)
I think Hatton genuinely wants another crack at it because he feels he didn't get a fair shout last time...i tend to agree.
Don't think the outcome will be any different.
But the first fight wasn't the total whitewash that some on here are making it out to be. It was close until the deduction.
With that said....in an ideal world Mayweather would fight Cotto and Hatton would fight Witter. But boxing is far from an ideal world when there is this kind of money involved.
-
Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
Hatton should get Dave Parris to ref. Then he can do whatever he wants.
-
Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
I rather see De La Hoya massacre Hatton instead.

Agree on both points.

Re: Floyd vs Witter-Dodger Rematch Wembley!!!
Golden boy promotions was meant to be an improvement on the status quo, but nothing has changed. If they really intended to 'save' boxing and protect the competitors involved they'd hype the fights that actually have significance (Rafa/Israel) rather than hyping this bollocks.
Where are the 24/7 programs to raise the profile of the real challengers to the real champions? The argument that a fight has to make money to make sense doesn't hold water when the likes of GBP make a concsious decision to hype bullshit fights like Oscar/Floyd ll above fights of more significance like Cotto/Floyd.

it shouldn't happen but knowing mayweather he would probably take it lol

Yeah they made themselves look like dummies really.
He said - Oscar is going to beat Mayweather so there is no fight.
