Alright many of you know I finally broke down and conceded as well as acknowledged Margarito's dominance and sheer brutality along with giving him massive amounts of credit..
Now I can say I really look forward to his next fights as a new fan and dmirer of his savage beatings he administers... Cotto= Fucked when he steps in the ring with the Boogie Man..
Funny enough JT im a fan of Mayweather, Cotto, and Margarito. I just hope Mayweather fights at least one of those guys before he retires.
Cotto is more of a complete fighter now. Cotto will out box Margarito in the real super fight of 2008.
You're right in a sense, Cotto could outbox Tony, but I think he would get drawn into a war simply because he is a fighter, and I'm sure he has lots of pride, but by the time he realizes he should have boxed it may be too late. Cotto is strong but Tony's bigger and stronger, Cotto does not have the speed or slickness needed to get away from this machine. If the same Marg that showed up this past Saturday shows up on the night these two meet...Cotto is getting KO'd! You're crazy JT. Cotto is far from fucked, he's a class above Margarito. Margarito isn't really the hardest hitter and while he has a decent uppercut, he doesn't have all the weapons that Cotto has. I think Cotto wins a fairly convincing decision. I find it funny that you got this hard on for Margarito at this time, after he beat Cintron for a second time. I mean it's not like he proved anything new.

I dont think Cotto is slow or that he's one dimensional. He showed alot of slickness in the mosley fight and if anything that is what would be the hardest thing for Marg. to deal with. I did see the Torres fight and it could have been a throwdown. But he was having a hard time with him regardless, a small Torres. Zab rocked him in there fight, Clottey rocked him in there fight. Margarito hits harder than all of them. Cotto cant KO Marg period. He's gonna have to get on a horse, do you think Cotto will run from an opponent? I give him more credit and respect than that, but that will be his undoing.
Cotto wont be dumb enough to try and bang all night with Tony because that would be futile. Cotto will mix it up enough to grab the win. Cotto will box and yes he will get on his horse. I also believe that Cotto will rope a dope and then try and counter Tony in between those rope a dopes. It should be a great fight. While Marg. has been dropped that was a long time ago and recently no one has even come close to dazing him! unfortunately you know we cant say the same about your boy Cotto.
I agree with most of your last post, and boxing is mental as well as physical and I would surely agree that Cotto had the ring smarts of a PHD, but you have to allow for Marg. to at the very least have a Masters in that dept. as well, that being said he also had more power and a stronger chin.
It truly is a coin flip and will be decided by what Cotto decides to do and what Marg. can do if Cotto decides to box, but I know Cotto is gonna have a hard time just boxing all night and that will be his downfall...i've said that already on this thread but it is the truth

I don't get tired of repeating this but because you loose to one fighter doesn't mean you'll loose to another. Without comparing styles and records. Many fighters have lost in the middle of great reigns and or in their prime but have bounced back and moved on to beat other fighters.
Emile lost Carter when Carter had like 20 fights but still Emile went on to beat Archer, Rodriguez, Tiger, Benvenuti and Briscoe to name a few.
Arguello lost to Vilomar and bounced back from the loss. Same thing with Duran.

I am the first to say he is not the best out there right now...I think I did in my post but some of these guys are acting as if Tony is nothing more then a 1 hit wonder who should be fighting $100 a round prelim's...
