Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5qcqDFPFbU
Got to hand it to David Haye he wants this fight at all costs and is even willing to accept a totaly unfair deal to make it happen.
Seems like the Klit brothers were trying to scare Haye out of the fight.Tossers.

Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
Sorry, but isn't this what contenders are suppose to do to fight the champion? It should always be on the champion's terms IMO where and how they fight. Haye is lucky he is getting the perfect oppertunity instead of actually having to fight his way through the heavyweight division where the chances of him losing are high.
-
Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
Is David Haye doing Wladimir some kind of favor by fighting him??? NO Wladimir is THE MAN of the division Haye should be happy with the crumbs he got tossed, Wladimir easily could have chosen to fight Arreola (a more meaningful fight as Cris is a heavyweight with experience) who would have gotten out of fighting McCline in a heartbeat if he could sign on the dotted line.
David Haye and his fans are crazy....they will hype up Haye even more so than they have been doing lately and once Wladimir KO's him with relative ease they will say "Haye wasn't ready", "Haye is only a cruiserweight", "Wladimir cheated" etc etc etc.
It really is ridiculous the guy has had 2 heavyweight fights vs total bums and he thinks he's enough of a crowd pleaser that HE can pick and choose what type of cut he gets in a title fight?!?!?! Haye is a fucking moron on a number of levels and his fans are right there with him....sure he talks a big game but he had better prepare for doing something other than swinging for the fences because that is what Wlad is going to prepare for the first couple of rounds and by round 4 Haye will be spent and then it will come down to Haye's heart and the mercy of Wladimir

Getting a heavyweight title shot, without ever beating a legitimate heavyweight contender, and getting paid millions of dollars: Yea he really got screwed.

Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
I agree to a point with what has all been said but the difference between Haye and the brothers grim is that Haye has star quality where as the Klit boys are not exactly superstar material.
If Haye wins the division and boxing as a whole gets a boost.
If WK wins then its the sames as normal.(nobody giving a fuck about the HWD)

Agreed. And that is why I will be rooting for Haye. However, David Haye's fan-boys are incredibly annoying, and I dont look forward to them gloating.

Haye need this fight 10x more than Wlad.

INDEED BRO!;)
This fight can only only be a good thing, I have friends that are not boxing fans at all and I'm getting asked about who Wlad is (they have no interest in the sport but they are hearing about it). Never been asked stuff like this since Hatton fought Mayweather.
It's all good and fantastic, people should just enjoy it and stop fucking moaning.

100% agree. This is really a meaningless fight for Wlad. It will do nothing for his career. It means something now cuz of the Haye groupies. But in 2 years it'll be "Haye was smaller" "Wlad beat up a Cruiswerweight" He will get no credit for the win

Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
I feel sorry for the other HW contenders who have been hanging around the division, waiting patiently for their turn at the title and then this CW comes straight up and gets his shot.
I would think, because of Haye's disrespect and public desire, that the Klitschko Team felt obligated to get him a title shot.
He should be happy with whatever he gets because in fact, he is getting the golden ticket over the other HW's. In reality, he should get nothing for the time being and have to fight Maskaev, Thompson and another HW to even get the chance to fight Wlad or Vitali.
All has been confirmed though and on the night, Haye will realise that he is just another 'punching bag' for Wlad and will disappear from the spotlight.
-
Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
Ofcourse Haye has been screwed on the contract. But thats nothing more than terrific business sense by the Klitchko camp.
Haye has not earnt a title shot this is fact but the this is boxing and its run more like an entertainment business than a professional sport. The worthy dont automaticlly get what they deserve because money talks and promotions companies dont get told who to pair up they do most the pairing.
If Haye is as connfident as he makes out then the benefits of beating both Klitchkos is massive in the long term and im sure if he beat Vlad once hed be chasing is brother anyway. IF he doesnt beat him atleast he got his chance.
I keep sayin the Klitchkos are scared shitless of losing their belts, never afraid of any boxer just the prospect of not being world champ so they try to cover all bases as much as they can, with the venue, ring size, even trying to handpick the refs and judges at times.
And if that doesnt cover them enough they now have 2 more attempts to take back what Haye had won.
I dont think its particulary fair on Haye but 1 - hes not got too much to offer in return with camp Klitchko and 2 - if the world boxing authourities are guna allow so much control goin to promotions outfits things like this are guna happen.

Even Ibragimov purely because of the manner in which he won.
Samuel Peter
Even Lamon Brewster only looks half decent because he was avenging a defeat.
He's fought complete plodders and has had every physical advantage imaginable....yet in a number of fights he's made it hard fucking work.
The heavyweight division is beyond embarrassing - made up with fighters who are a good 2 stone over-weight, lacking the fitness to punch and move. The Klitschko's should be dominating.
This fight is a much harder fight for Wlad. For one he won't have 3 minutes thinking time while his opponent is stood directly infront of him. Haye will make him move, make him fight and if Samuel Peter's cuffing shots can put him down, anything landed by Haye could mean lights out. By the same token anything landed by Wlad could mean lights out for Haye. That's why it's such an intriguing fight.
How anyone thinks this is meaningless is beyond me.

Haye is either very confident or very stupid. Either way it will be exciting while it lasts. Haye took the short end of the contract when he fought Mormeck, in Paris, King production and judges. He pulled it off but this is way way bigger task than that.

Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
Well lets look at the contract he has signed that signs his next 2 fights away to the Klitschkos.
People tried to say it was Haye that was stalling and difficult in negotiations - when it would seem that it was the Klitschkos and there contract that slowed the whole thing down.
----------
Haye contracted for potential Klitschko trilogy
If David Haye is successful in his heavyweight title challenge to Wladimir Klitschko the Londoner is likely to engage in a trilogy of fights involving both Wladimir AND his brother, Vitali.
The Klitschko brothers' German manager Bernd Boente revealed details of the contract yesterday to ESPN.com's boxing writer, Dan Rafael.
Points of interest include:
- Haye's only income for the fight (said to be ‘millions') will come from Setanta Sports' broadcast rights fee
- Klitschko will receive an agreed portion of the Setanta cash plus all the other revenue the fight generates including fees from HBO (carrying the contest live in the US), RTL (German broadcaster), any other foreign broadcasting fees, all the live gate receipts and income from sponsorship
- If Haye wins, Klitschko's promotional company, K2, will promote his next two fights
- Again, should Haye win, his next two fights will be against one of the Klitschko brothers – either a rematch with Wladimir or a match with Vitali – and should he win that one, he'll face the other brother
It looks like Haye has pulled out all the stops and very much taken the short end, including options, in order to make sure the June 20th fight happens.

Yeah poor David Haye.......
The guy needs to just shut his mouth already and FIGHT........
Haye comes off like a whining cry baby.......
I hope Wlad really softens him up for 5-6 rounds with hard jabs and the occasional straight right and left hook. Than in round 7-8 just starts dropping huge BOMBS and KO's his ass. I would love to see Haye take a real good beating in this fight...

Chris Byrd- was the #1 ranked heavyweight in the world at the time, and he had been #1 for at least a year. And that was not only by The Ring, but by every other legitimate boxing journalist.
Calvin Brock and Samuel Peter were both undefeated top 10 contenders.
Sultan Ibragimov- was a title unification
Tony Thopmson and Ray Austin were knockouts of alphabet mandatories
Lamon Brewster- avenging a loss
Hasim Rahman- well I will give you that one. Rahman was spent.

Neve Ever let me see anyone critisize Bernard Hopkin for short changing Tomas Adamek when shysters like the Kilitshko's get away with contracts like this
Klitschko gets the lions share of the $$$$$$$
Kilitschko gets to choose the venue
Klitschko has the rematch clause just in case Haye wins
Klitschko also has included that should Haye win the rematch he must fight Vitaly next
These stipulations are ludicrous
Damn I wish Ike Ibeabuchi had never called that Vegas hooker. He'd have toppled both Klitshko's with ease

Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
I wouldn't say he got screwed because he got a HW title shot relatively easy. BUT it does show that there is some concern from the Klits about Haye as they want so many rematches.
If it was just luck that Haye beat Wlad then surely he would only need one. To me when Haye KO's Wlad it will be a similar scene to Rocky IV when Rocky (Vitali) looks up at Drago (Haye) whilst his friend (brother Wlad) is lying motionless on the floor. 6:30 in the clip

I think there's something to all the talk that haye if nothing else is just so much different from the bums the klitchko's have been forced to ko lately. I'm not saying haye is the next great thing or even better than the big W i just thing he's gonna catch him by surprise and not be able to recover. haye will probably loose shortly after.....

Right now I can't think of any Heavyweights other than Vitali who your COMMON EVERYDAY SPORTS FAN would be interested in seeing more than Haye.
Like I've already said - I'm not talking about who has earned their shot the most (or at all, lets save that debate) or who the boxing Hardcore want to see Wlad fight. I am talking purely from a business point of view.
I know you have a problem with British fighters but I want you as unbiasedly as possible to tell me which other marquee names are out there at Heavyweight that will generate as much Global interest amongst casual fight fans and why.
It's funny how you always answer a question with a question when your lost. To bad. For the second time, you say Haye brings PPV numbers to the table? What numbers? What are his past PPV numbers?
PPV numbers, didn't his fight against Barrett barely make it on to TV? hell i can't remember Haye ever being on a PPV card

Exactly. But according to these Haye groupies he's a huge draw. Did you read the clown who posted Haye generates "Global interest"? :lolhaha: Are you fukking kidding me? He couldn't even sell out his fight with Monte Barrett.

If Haye wins the division and boxing as a whole gets a boost.
If WK wins then its the sames as normal.(nobody giving a fuck about the HWD)
haye has no star quality over here.

lol
:o  Haven't you just done exactly the same thing ???
Are you telling me that internationally more people would want to watch Wlad fight someone like Thompson or Aerolla? Outside of hardcore fans in America nobody could really give a fuck.
I guarantee you if Wlad had signed virtually anybody else there wouldn't be this many threads about it.
The proof is right there in front of you... haye hasn't worked his way up to this shot like all of the other potentials had... so why else would this fight even have been discussed... let alone SIGNED. Please don't tell me you think it's because Wlad was so upset by haye's trash talking that he had to fight him...
$$$
We could bicker all day but I guess the best thing to do is just to wait and see how much green the fight makes internationally.

David Haye loses to Klitschko

Re: Haye gets screwed in the contract but still takes the fight.VIDEO
David Haye has confirmed he has a three-fight deal with the Klitschkos after finally signing a contract to take on Wladimir Klitschko on June 20, live on Setanta Sports.
The Londoner has had to make a major sacrifice by agreeing to take the unusual step of signing away his next three contests, if he does cause a shock by winning the heavyweight title fight.
Haye has revealed that it was the only way he could secure a title shot with Wladimir, with WBC champion Vitali waiting in the wings further down the line.
"I've got to fight three Klitschkos," he exclusively told Setanta. "Maybe they've got an uncle who does a bit of boxing and their Dad did a bit back in the day!
"So three Klitschkos in whatever order they choose.
"You should've seen what they tried to make me agree to before. That was a massive compromise as it was a joke what they were trying to make me agree.
"If you think that's ridiculous, you would crack up at what they wanted me to sign before. It clearly showed me the mentality of the Klitschkos and how much wusses they are. They're not real champions - they try to manufacture things and are not warriors.
"They don't believe they are the best out there. If they thought they'd beat me then why make me sign these stupid contracts? That was a deal breaker. If I didn't sign it, the fight wouldn't be happening.
"You've got to bend sometimes and I did, right at the end of the day.
"Once I knock Wladimir out, he won't want to go near me in a million years and Vitali, once I knock him out, and it's going to take a lot to knock him out, that's it, he's finished.
"So I don't think I'll have a third fight unless they wheel out one of the uncles.
"It's a joke. It was like a hidden camera show. I've never heard of it in boxing history but if it's the only way these chumps will get in a ring with me, it's what I've got to do."
Haye explained that Alexander Povetkin will have to wait some time before having any chance to meet him in the ring.
"Any rematch with Wladimir would possibly be six months later," he explained.
"Then after that, I'd fight Vitali after another six months. After that, in the middle of next year, I'll finish this current contract I'm under so, if Povetkin is still in a good position then, he'd be at the top of the list of fighters I'll be looking to fight."
