both the guys interviewing don't know shit about boxing, and WTF is "contradixing" lol, and they burn him on the whole thing Marquez movin up, and how Floyd should?!? he's gone from 130 to 154, therefore gone up to fight other fighters in their own classes, they have no idea how boxing actually works, and if they're trying to imply that Mayweather hasn't fought anyone they're smoking crack bigtime, "had to go up 17 lbs. to fight you" that's bull 135 to 145, 10 lbs. lol

Exactly, I knew they knew nothing when they said a fighter can fight anyone they want like Sugar Ray Robinson. Robinson spent years unable to get a shot because of boxing politics & when he did win the title he had more than his fair share of fights against guys with losing records. For me SRR is the g.o.a.t, but these guys know nothing if they think he simply decided who he felt like fighting
As ElTerrible said, they said a number of things that showed they know fuck all about the sport & came across as idiots. Let me guess the guy was a rap DJ right?

forrest's first fight with mosley happened in 2002, not '99!

interview got nasty in the end and he basically called all of floyd's opponents pussies. he should drop that fake accent too.
both made fools outta themselves.

agreed, and the whole "i know the history" crap, you don't know shit dude stick to being a "thug" on the radio, cause you've just manage to make someone seem a bit more thick in the head than Mayweather himself

Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
Haha, they told that RA the Ruggaman (from the decidedly ghetto Suffolk County ) that he was eloquent. Seriously, I can't stand these wannabe gangsta personalities from middle-class backgrounds who seem to pervade rap now. But, shit if they're gonna degrade hip-hop, at least can they stay the fuck out of talking about boxing. Don't they realize it's a 'contradixun' to lecture boxers on how to be tough??
-
Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
lol, that was great. tell it how it is brotha!

Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
;D ;D I'm only two minutes in but it is pretty hilarious, Floyd is stammering like a motherfucker, to be fair dude kind of ambushed him you can tell Floyd thought it was going to be a a kind of fun and games interview and then right off the bat with the why don't you fight a top two guy at your size.
Random observation, no way in hell Floyd made 8 million dollars to fight Sharmba Mitchell, I'm sorry that just can't possibly be true.
Now I'm more than 2 minutes in. To be fair, this guy is a lot more in tune to boxing than I would expect him to be and talking about him not knowing anything about boxing, LOL. Guy's points sometimes are iffy cause he doesn't like Floyd but he knew a surprising amount about boxing. Knows Paul Williams, knew how many KO's Archie Moore had (well in the ballpark), knows Ricardo Lopez, Brian Fucking Neilson (Floyd didn't even know him ;D), Willie Pep. Knew exactly when Pacquaio had been stopped, etc. That guy actually sounded like a boxing fan that was fairly knowledgable, I was a bit shocked really. Saying something like JMM moved up 17 pounds is wrong but probably based a bit on JMM having his bigger fights at jr. lightweight. The guy made some questionable points but he knew a lot more about boxing than you're normal American.
To be fair I totally get Mayweather fans getting upset about him not accepting that Mayweather's also moved up. Also PBF has fought a lot better fighters than Williams so excusing away the Quinbaldomir loss by saying that's what happens when you fight good fighters is a bit iffy.
But the JMM fight was a propaganda piece and he hasn't fought anybody on the level of Calzaghe, well ever.
Floyd douchebagmeter: Boxing will be dead when I leave, geezus. Talking about SRL losing to Hector Camacho when he was decrepit.
Ahaha dude used the big ass gloves line talking aout the Zab, that was Sal The Butcher, it had to have been. ;D

Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
R.A. the Rugged Man - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ha, dude's a rapper that is writing a book about boxing ;D
Kind of random but I don't know if Suffolk County is middle or upper class or what, Long Island's a bit odd. I spent some time up there one summer with some family. Its real rich in spots, poor in spots, actually Queens is on Long Island. Bit of an odd place really, super rich in some areas.
-
Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
love it he tell Floyd what Kenny should have.
-
Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
"If i leave, boxing is dead"....
What?
On that statement alone PBF should be avoided like the plague, he aint good for boxing, hes only good for his own pockets.... End of.
-
Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
That was very funny and Floyd was...well, he was Floyd. :-\
The interviewer was asking some good questions. He wasn't always factually correct but the questions were direct and well worth asking. He knew his stuff pretty well and Floyd showed himself up as ignorant as always. Nobody stutters like Floyd, you can almost see the lip quivering. ;D
-
Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
Great interview. I give credit to Floyd for staying on the phone.
This interview reminded me of if Danny G interviewed Floyd :D
I would have loved to see Floyd punch this guy out cold haha.
-
Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
Floyd actually came off fairly likeable in a recent interview with Brian Kenny, in this one he did say some ridiculous stuff but to be fair he did kind of get ambushed.

He came across a bit silly really and probably told a porky or two in trying to defend himself. I can't believe Floyd actually believes some of the stuff he comes out with.
All that "I'm a smaller man too" stuff needs to stop. He has been a big fighter for a few years now and couldn't even make the sodding weight against Marquez!
And talking about Ray Leonard not being as great because he lost to Camacho? WTF?
What on earth was he raving about when talking about Manny Pac and performance enhancers?
Floyd is in la-la land. You watch, he is most definitely waiting to see what happens between Malignaggi and Diaz....the plonker...

Actually, I'm sure Danny would have been harder on him, and would have used a lot more colorful language. This guy admitted that at one point he was a fan of Floyd's, while Danny has never been a fan of his, so I think Danny would of chapped Floyd's a$$, and have Floyd hanging up on him after 3 minutes. ;)

I don't think he did at all. I mean when have you EVER heard such disrespect towards an international superstar in their chosen profession?
I'm sure if an interviewer spoke like that to any actor, other sports star, politician or celebrity they would have been hung up on within minutes and probably sued.
Floyd kept the banter going for 20 minutes and argued his corner despite being called a 'fucking pussy' etc.
I am officially a Floyd Mayweather fan, the guy is a legend in my book, how do you think Ricky Hatton would respond if giving an interview he was told he was a fat overated prick who embarrassed himself against Manny Paquaio and Floyd Mayweather?

Such disrespect or such truth?
More interviewers should ask the same types of questions as far as I'm concerned. Floyd deserves to be disrespected, because he is full of shit.
He lied his way through half of that interview and looked stupid. I see little to be supportive about. The guy is a phoney who only wants easy rides.

I agree that Floyd deserves to be disrespected. Seems like everyone is picking on Floyd, from this fake gangster rapper or whatever he is to Hopkins and Mosley. Floyd is always dissing people and he is just getting a taste of his own medicine. Clearly Floyd would rather fight a lesser opponent for millions than a more difficult one. He has proven that time and again. I know they are all motivated by money, the Manny's, the Mosley's, etc., but clearly Floyd does not care one inch for the fans and that is why he will never be a beloved boxer on a personal level. I am sure he will fight Mosley or Manny if he is given the lions share, and based on his opponents, does he really deserve it? I don't think so.

He's the most fan friendly boxer currently fighting today, at least as far as revenue goes.
Who else provides entertainment like Floyd Mayweather? Just watch compare his 24/7 shows to the ones without him in them, they arn't even worth watching imo.
Everything he does and his persona is to create excitiment for the fans anf get them to want to watch the fights.
Anybody who has ever been to a Floyd press conference on here are all unanimous in their praise for Floyd's interaction with the fans.
Look at the Hatton Floyd pre fight build up. Whilst Ricky was making it really personal, with wanker gestures directed at Floyd, Floyd carried out his role as the bad guy with aplomb, hyping the fans up, giving them everything they wanted of him.
He's an entertainer.
He's number 1 so will obviously always be a target but there is nobody else in the sport right now at the top of their game that comes close to bringing the excitiment and atmosphere that Floyd does.

Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
Good interview that, showed just what a bullshitting excuse making little fucking bitch Floyd has become.
Bilbo your talking shit.Again
Fan friendly in terms of revenue? word twisting bullshit! Who cares how entertaining he is outside the fucking ring anyway?

Well the fact you're talking about him and not some other boxer says it all really.
Floyd is the number one fighter in the sport, from both a resume and revenue point of view.
Nobody else comes close.

I don't know about the interview, I mean the guy called out Floyd using the right arguments with some wrong facts. But in general, he made some good points.
As an aside I find it odd that I have to look at Cotto's crotch coming out of the pool everyday now. ;D

If he wants to be an entertainer than he should take his sorry a$$ to New York and perform on Broadway. This if fuking boxing, not a bad rap video.
I find nothing that Floyd does entertaining. In fact I won't even watch his 24/7 shows, because I can't stand his disrespectful, arrogant antics. You may find that kind of behavior appealing, while I find it vomit inducing.
He's #1? Really? I think Manny would have something to say about that. Floyd is #2, which is very fitting considering he is a piece of $hit. ;)

Where's JT Rock when you need him, I can't stand against the legion of haters on my own.
But seriously, Floyd would dominate Manny Pacquaio, I doubt the Filipino would win more than a single round.

Unfortunately, Floyd won't step into the ring with Manny, or any other real threat to prove that.

Just because the guy was off in some areas, don't mean he didn't call a spade a spade.
Floyd has been campaigning as a Welter weight for nearly 5 years and has yet to face a true Welter. lol Ring Mag has floyd listed as the number two ;D
I was off for two years. (By choice waiting for all the welters to destroy each other like I predicted)
Shut up, it was 18 months. Hopkins does it all the time standing on his head and he is nearly 45 ;D
I am my own promoter, I am my own boss.
Why don't you fight Mosley?
That is not up to me to decide. lol
Bob Arum wont do business with me.
Arum Offers 8 million to fight Margarito and Floyd turns it down to fight a man who had no business being called a lineal champ.
I fought Zab Judah!
After he lost to Baldomir.
Way to go tough guy, you really put your balls on the table with that move.
You have 35 fights (40)
Archie Moore has 135 knock outs! (131)
This dude was owning Floyd left and right, front and center.
So this year, two white white boy rappers have made floyd look like an idiot.
Word to Floyd, stay away from white rappers
;D
And BTW Rugged was there to promote his album and he had no idea they would be talking to Floyd.
I am just glad it was some one who would not be on the phone sucking on Floyd's stick for twenty minutes. The man told Floyd what he needed to hear. Take heed my brother, go for the legacy.
Legacy don't pay the bills.
You are rich already.
Go for LEGACY!
Those were sound words of advice.

Lol - let the haters hate Bilbo. That's their job. In fact, you know Floyd is doing such a fantastic job because he has the most haters.
It's like Katt Williams said so well, "People are gonna hate you regardless, You got to be grateful - you need haters - What the F*ck are you complaining about? Let them do their job - If you got 20 haters, you need to figure out how to get 40 of them Mother F*ckers!"
That's the great thing with Floyd..People will keep hating and he will keep winding them up by winning and winning well. Makes me laugh.

Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
This is brilliant. ;D
So Floyd got $8 mill for Mitchell and $12mill for Baldo?
"you have 35 fights Archie Moore had 135 KO's" ;D

Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
Floyd got totally smashed because he was talking to a hardcore boxing fan (Jaz and Elterrible - behave, so the guy got a few things wrong, he didn't have boxrec or google in front of him)
In Floyd's defence though.. most fans just don't get the business/danger side of boxing. To think a boxer will take a harder challenge for less/same money is ridiculous. No wonder Floyd thought he was speaking to an idiot.

So it is not about Legacy?
Fine by me. Glad to hear it because we can continue to laugh at Floyd every time he makes these outrageous claims of being the greatest and what not. ;D
I think Floyd has made it perfectly clear that he is not willing to fight the best. It's a hustle. I can live with that.

Re: The BEST Floyd Interview EVER !!!
Fenster is right on.
Sharmba Mitchell for 8 million is hilarity. That can't be right. I don't know what he made for Baldomir.
First this idea that the guy didn't know anything about boxing is crazy. He knew his stuff.
Not that I agreed with everything. Some of his points were a bit illogical. He is a bit of a "hater." And I don't have a huge problem with people making decisions based on their bank account but Floyd wants it both ways, he wants everything to be based on if it makes money it makes sense AND be thought of as the greatest ever.
