A shame this fight didn't happen a long time ago; but still excited to see it. Mayweather will win this pretty decisively and Shane will get old overnight.

Haha Im living in the past I forgot were in 2010 :p.

Re: Mayweather v Mosley nearly done for May 1st 2009
This is the second best fight that could be made, but I still find it hard not to be disappointed about the collapse of Mayweather - Pacquiao.
I do think, like Legion said, that Mayweather has the ability to make Mosley look old. Still, it's a compelling fight between the two best welterweights in the sport, both of whom are considered top 5 P4P fighters so it's definitely something to get excited about. I'm picking Mayweather to win by wide UD. Maybe I'm underrating him, but I'd be surprised if Mosley won more than a couple of rounds.

I read that he lost 8 family members, and that his sister and niece were left homeless. I guess he's there now trying to help out.

Re: Mayweather v Mosley nearly done for May 1st 2010
This is the second best fight that could get made in the sport & I suspect they've already agreed it & are just waiting because of the Berto situation.
I like Mayweather by close decision, but Shane is no underdog for me, I'd have it a 55-45 fight in favour of Mayweather. The winner will fight Pacquiao assuming he wins (which I think is close on a given, it's a great style match-up for him).

He must be destroyed, poor guy :(....

Re: Mayweather v Mosley nearly done for May 1st 2010
I don't believe it till it's signed. PBF doesn't want to fight Shane.

this.
its really hard to see who's gonna be on top. i love both fighters but i wanted to see how mosley looked with berto first but i guess that ain't happening. still, mayweather by close decision. but there's this very good chance mosley imposes his will on mayweather.

Re: Mayweather v Mosley nearly done for May 1st 2010
It will be the second best option with the Pac fight having blown out the window. Mosley at his best gives Mayweather fits, but I have to wonder how Mosley is really. By the time he gets in the ring, he will have been out almost 18 months and will be well into his 38th year. Like I say, Mosley with the speed and stamina at his best is a real hard nights work for Mayweather, but there is no way of telling where Mosley is at. The Berto fight would have been a great indicator. It's a shame that one is off as it would have given us a clearer idea about Mosley.
-
Re: Mayweather v Mosley nearly done for May 1st 2010
Wow. I'm almost as excited about this as I was for Pac vs PBF. I mean Pac's a better fighter, in his red hot prime and his in and out weaving style sort of reminds me of Duran...in that its essentially offensive but still serves a defensive purpose.
But Mosely is arguably more dangerous at welterweight. He's natural at this weight and we all know it just takes one punch to change the complexion of a fight. Only Williams would be a braver fight for PBF IMO, b/c of his Hearns like height and reach advantage as well as the remarkable quantity of punches he throws. But fighting Mosley puts an end to the myth of PBF as dodger. This is the way a brave fighter behaves.
In comparison, Clottey vs Pac seems lame. Clotty is a terific fighter but he's not in Mosely's class, having just lost to a man who was destoyed by Pac, and who was never the same after being plastered by Margarito.

Re: Mayweather v Mosley nearly done for May 1st 2010
i just read this from examiner:
A solid source inside Team Floyd Mayweather has just informed me that Money May is balking at fighting Sugar Shane Mosley and that is the reason for the holdup on the announcement of a May 1 or a May 8 bout between the two American ring stars.
“Floyd did the math and Floyd is saying, why should I take a potentially difficult bout against Mosley for $10 million or less when I get $40 million or more to fight Manny Pacquiao and that could be an easier fight to win,” the in the know person said Saturday night.

Isn't the Examiner like the NY Daily Post, National Enquirer, People magazine. You know a tabloid rag?

I find it hard to believe he'd only make a quarter the money fighting Mosely that he would make fighting Pac.

i think its half not quarter. the $40 million mentioned is including ppv share ($20m guaranteed + $20m estimated from ppv)

Re: Mayweather v Mosley nearly done for May 1st 2010
I think until it's signed sealed and delivered we should perpetuate rumors about Mayweather fighting Ivan Calderon.

Re: Mayweather v Mosley nearly done for May 1st 2010
I can see no issues that can derail this fight at all.
Not unless Mayweather pulls his stuff again. Who knows, he's so smart for everybody I guess.
Here are possible demands of Mayweather to Mosley
Weight limit 147lbs
Gloves - 10
Purse - 35/65 for Floyd
Urine test (NSAC administered)
Blood test (Olympic style)
I see all these are OK with Mosley so theres no reason at all that this fight wont happen.
If I think like Mayweather I would ask another demand:
Mosley should have 100 fire ants up inside his underwear come fight night. If he disagrees then theres no fight. :D

i think those demands are ok with mosley maybe except with the 35/65 split. mosley is the only acceptable option left for floyd and he could very well demand a 50-50 split (minimum of 45)

Thats crap. 35% of a fight with Mayweather would make Mosely way more than 50%-60% versus just about anybody else. Name another fighter active today and available that would make Mosely as much as Floyd. It goes both ways.

didn't mosley settled with berto until the haiti calamity happened? mosley not all for the money as evidenced in agreeing to fight berto. mosley can settle with cotto rematch, margarito rematch or maybe quintana.

You do realise you just conradicted yourself. You said Mosely may ask for more money, then said he dont care about money. Hmmm

it only shows mosley can settle for less money if he wants to but here's a chance to make a killing and milk floyd for more money so i still think mosley will grab that opportunity.
how do you feel if someone said in the past that he won't fight you coz youre not a household name, not a ppv material? then that someone added that youre a drug cheat? isn't it this is the time for revenge for that someone?

Mosley gona suck Floyds dick if it gets him the fight:bowdown:
You crazy son???
Sugar Shane was prepared to drop to 140 to face Pac, a weigfht he ain't reached since the 1800's
If Sugar asks for anything it'll be "Please don't embarress me too much!"
If Shane doesn't bend over & take everything floyd gives him I'll be shocked:o

The point is that he is more likely to settle for 35% v Mayweather that might be $10,000,000-$15,000,000 than push it and miss out all together. Then go back and fight the Bertos/Collazos of the world for much less.
your whole argument is retarded.

your math sucks. the article mentioned floyd would get 10 million for the mosley fight then how would mosley get another 10 million? only if its a 50-50 purse split! 35% share would give mosley only 5 million
35% is slap to mosley, he should get 50-50 considering floyd already pushed in the corner and has mosley as the only option

You gotta be jocking son:vd:
Money can fight anyone from 154 to 140, maybe lower
Look at the names that been mention
Bradlety, Campbell, Malignaggi, Alvarez etc
Mosley will be begging for it:lolhaha:
He can always take another year of if he ain't happy with Floyds offer;D

That article is not fact dipshit! Who are the sources? 35% of the purse of a Mayeather v Mosely fight would be far greater than 5 million. 35% fighting Floyd would be far more than Mosely could make fighting any active fighter. You dont make sense at all. Floyd is not in a corner. Fighting any welter in the top 8 or a top nunior middle or a top junior welter would be as big a money fight as Pac Clottey. So how is he in a corner?

Yes we need sources to clarify this not hearsay about the story. BTW to be fair I also want sources and evidence for the Pacquiao emails about coverups of drug tests that supposedly was reported as fact.

floyd is stuck in the corner. who the acceptable fighters floyd can fight right now aside from mosley?

You dont make sense at all. Floyd is not in a corner. Fighting any welter in the top 8 or a top nunior middle or a top junior welter would be as big a money fight as Pac Clottey. So how is he in a corner?
so your mosley will get more than 5 million is a fact? youre only saying what you think and its not considered by any means as fact. at least i have a source article.
floyd is stuck in the corner. who the acceptable fighters floyd can fight right now aside from mosley?
Anyone!
The question should be who else is Mosley gona fight???
keyword is acceptable. floyd can fight mat hatton = not acceptable. floyd can fight ivan calderon = not acceptable
