What about the poor opponent who's left holding the bag? Who has spent months training responsibly only to find the opponent has made a sham of the whole process. Who has sacrificed to make the weight only to be told: "So sorry..... fight's off, unless you want to fight an opponent who outweighs you."
Time to add a little more accountability for fighters who don't make weight.
Those weight loss tablets innocently taken take on a whole new meaning when fighters cheat to make weight.
Broner weighed in at 143.5 diz mornin at 5am meanwhile Escobedo weighz 133.5
143.5 shows he just doesn't care. He weighed in at 133.5 yesterday and all he had to do was not gain anymore than 6.5 pounds overnight and he gains 9.5 pounds. So Escobedo is left with the options of calling off the fight and losing out on a payday that he and his team trained hard for or getting in the ring with a welterweight.Quote:

Broner said this was to be his last fight at this weight. It normally means they are struggling at the weight.
That's not even close to the weight though! He must have known for days he was going to be coming in heavy.

This is why it should be one commission. Broner should be punish. To a point where he just can't run to the IBF, WBC, or WBA and just get high profile fight. He shouldn't be back on HBO for a good period of time. At least not headlining. Something got to change with the sport.
