143.5 shows he just doesn't care. He weighed in at 133.5 yesterday and all he had to do was not gain anymore than 6.5 pounds overnight and he gains 9.5 pounds. So Escobedo is left with the options of calling off the fight and losing out on a payday that he and his team trained hard for or getting in the ring with a welterweight.

I'm assuming that Escobedo still gets a portion of Broner's purse regardless if he goes through with the fight or not, so the best move he could do is pull out and let Broner take his bashing for being a lazy ass

"I clearly outgrew the weight class"

How shit-thick do you have to be to realise this the eve of the fight?

does escobedo get any money if the fight doesn't happen?

    i doubt he does.

if he refuses to fight it will mean the hbo card falls apart? if this happens will he ever be invited to fight on hbo again? will hbo throw some extra money his way to ensure they have a show tonight?

Broner said this was to be his last fight at this weight. It normally means they are struggling at the weight.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
