Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Suspended 9 months and fined $900,000 by Nevada State Athletic Commission for failing drug test after his loss to Sergio Martinez.
-
Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Wasn't it pot he tested positive for?
-
Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
I'd smoke ALL the pot if it would put me in a spot to have $900,000 to pay a fine.

So would I, and pot gives me awful panic attacks.

Wow a bit fuckin harsh considering it was pot, yet you got all these other dudes injecting themself with horse testosterone or whatever else and nothing happens...not a fan of the guy but come on...and marg got what a year for plaster???
-
Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Might be more troublesome that it took six months for a penalty of any sort to come down :-X This is basically just announcing his comeback in June
Takes some serious Hydro to convince a man that walking around in a pink thong and eating cold cereal from a salad bowl while being filmed is a good idea...puff! puff! pass? Jr.

If you want to get rid of cheaters, illegal drugs, and illegal PED use in boxing this is one of the things that has to happen. Harsh penalties for violators.

Yeah so why not penalize the dudes that caught using peds in their system not effin pot, that was to my point sort of. How is this going to get almost as hard a penalty as plaster in your gloves, and a harsher penalty then people who got caught with peds in their system, makes no sense.

Good for you sir, it seems everyone else on this forum likes to talk about cleaning up boxing, but they don't have the conviction to carry it out.
We are talking about Chavez Jr, not Margarito or anyone else.
Does this penalty send a clear message to Chavez Jr and everyone in boxing that the Nevada State Athletic Commission will not tolerate the use of banned drugs by boxers? Yes it does, and it's a good step in the right direction by one commission.
-
Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Hmm like most cover ups in sport, they test positive for something to mask the real ped. In this case, Chavez was probably caught on both and they gave him the option of a harsh penalty and they would say he used weed instead of the real ped he was taking........just my lil conspiracy theory........

Junior is a sex symbol in Mexico, mainly with the gay community.

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Chavez Jr.'s DVD just came out and I'd recommend all of you guys to have a look at it. It involves some really inspiring scenes and it'll motivate up and coming boxers especially in Mexico.
I agree he's been under some pressure recently, but he's one of the most naturally talented boxers I've ever seen.

I do hope Chavez would break your jaws out. He's sensational, you're not.

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
THE most over hyped boxer ever!!! If he knew how to jab and use it in persuit of Sergio he could have won or atleast looked like a fighter. He has no form and no techniques at all!
I'm amazed Freddy put up with his crap but after putting in some time I'm sure Freddy needed to get paid!! Junior is a joke and it must tear his old man up!! Although Senior is abit of a odd ball too!

Yeah that looks like a trustworthy site

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
they actually lowered the fine to 100,000

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
I used to shit on Jr just like many others but he's grown on me overtime and I have alot of respect for him.
This kid was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and never had a job in his life. Anything he wanted he got like a typical rich kid.
He could have continued living off his daddy, instead, he decided to take punches for a living and become a pro fighter! How many kids in his position has the balls and desire to think of something like that?
Fuck these Chavez haters.. I think alot of people are forgetting the fact that Chavez Jr has exceeded expectations in this sport..
When he was coming up as a prospect, I remember everybody were saying that he's a knocking waiting to happen as soon as he steps up the comp etc etc but look what he's accomplished.. He's a former world champion with an exciting style and a granite chin.. Never been knocked out by anybody ..
Chavez jr is rad man..

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
What a sign of just how fk'd up the entire program is. They fine a guy 900 grand for traces of weed that could have been there from a week before. Traces from a week before of a drug that has no performance enhancing properties at all but they will essentially ignore the known Peds that do enhance performance by using the same testing methods knowing they will rarely catch anyone. Btw whens the last time anyone got a 900 thousand dollar fine for actually using steroids? If you are going to try and show the world that you are doing something about performance enhancing drugs in boxing by using a household name, you don't make a federal case out of Chavez testing positive for Thc ffs. Doing so has the reverse effect because it tells anyone over the age of 12 how stupid they are.

Just wow, do you understand that loaded gloves can kill someone? Honestly this post is the most causal thing I've ever read real fans aren't okay with this.

He's actually right. it was just gauze in his wraps. The gauze were said to contain "elements" found in Plaster of Paris. You can find those elements in hand cream as well

Than why did Margarito's trainer say he messed up? And the fact that Margarito got stopped vs Mosley suggests he cheated also look at the end of the Cotto fight his wraps come off funny. I used to think maybe he was innocent but it's pretty obvious he did something.
-
Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
IVe always stood by my boy Margo and always will. He was clean in the first Cotto fight and was never aware of anything abnormal in his gloves against Mosley..
These poor cotto fans, sore losers have to make-belief just to feel better.. lol

I haven't rooted for a Rican fighter since I was a kid and that was Camacho, so naw it's not that with me. If he had gone on to win 1 fight in the USA he would have a case but he went 0-3 in his next matches in the USA, it's like a baseball player's production dropping after being accused of steroids.

He had to. There was no way Margarito would of been reinstated unless someone took the blame and admitted guilt. If Capetillo didn't do that Margarito would of still been suspended

I just read that Chavez-Rubio 2 has been ordered for the interim WBC belt.

The way GGG is treated vs the way JCC Jr is treated just disgusts me, I can't agree with you on Ortiz but the Chavez hate is ridiculous, I do understand some of it but people pile on Chavez because in boxing people are followers who are scared to break popular thoughts.
Again your GGG hate is shocking. Chavez Jr, goes 46 fights before fighting someone of real note and gets completely out classed, comes to fights overweight, fails drug tests, refuses to take drug tests. This is why he gets criticised so much. He is a decent fighter and can be fun to watch but he's not world class. Does anyone seriously believe if it wasn't for his dad he would be in the position he is in?
GGG has been a model professional and looks like he will be world class.

Wait Chavez isn't world class? You GGG huggers love to dump on Sergio, that was a great win by Sergio and doesn't mean Chavez is a bum. What's your commitment to GGG is it just to say you saw it first? I don't jump on bandwagons and be wrong about 10 guys and claim I knew something cause 1 guy was a success. I've had more reasonable convos at Phil Box about Manny. Hopefully Bob sees money in GGG-Chavez and we get it soon so the GGG hype can die.
