They left Americans under attack there to be killed. They lied about who did the attacking, why the attacking happened, they left Amb. Stevens vulnerable knowing full well it wasn't safe to be there. They drew down his security detail. They kept the armed forces from retaliating or saving lives.

This is bigger than Watergate, people died, moves weren't made that could have been made and as a citizen I want to know why.

Sure attacks happen from time to time, usually bombs with nothing else after them, but this was a terrorist military style attack which could have been stopped. Fly a C-130 over or a F-117 and people would scatter, that's all it would have taken, forces were in the area ready to go and were told not to....why?

I don't really understand the use of moral relativism to absolve the President. Whether Bush did the right things or not is irrelevant to what the current President did or didn't know and when he reacted. While some of this is obviously partisan it is also clear that an epic failure in leadership happened that resulted in American's dying and that the administration did not want to be 100% forthright with an election at hand. If nothing else the President should have openly admitted that gross negligence led to a loss of life and people were being fired for it.

Every intelligence and military service in the US at their highest level creates a daily/weekly read book for their respective top leadership and the highlights of these books make it into the POTUS daily/weekly briefings. There is some real prestige for an analyst to create a product that makes it to the Presidents desk. If President Obama is clueless it isn't b/c the information isn't available.

#1 "Illegal wars"...I take it you're referring to Iraq and I guess Afghanistan though Afghanistan was pretty much given the "thumbs up" from everyone. The HISTORIC deal is this whether people like it or not: FDR "illegally" got the United States involved in the European Theatre of World War II vie the Lend-Lease Act, John F. Kennedy got the United States "illegally" involved in Vietnam via the Gulf of Tonkin Incident, and so on and so forth so acting all butt hurt about Iraq where an invasion WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NO MATTER WHO WON THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION is kind of a moot point.

So Ambassadors being murdered isn't something that usually "just happens", in the case of Adolph Dubs, the US was attempting to free Amb. Dubs safely via diplomacy and before those talks went anywhere the Soviet aligned Afghanis attacked and Dubs was killed in the gun battle.

#5 "The Buck Stops Here", the famous slogan used by Harry S. Truman and every President thereafter....someone is responsible for the gross negligence that occurred in Benghazi and whoever that person or those persons are should pay for their negligence.....is it wrong to expect a President who PROMISED transparency actually provide it? There isn't anything pompous about my post. There is not a legal precedent for when war is allowed or not. I think you confuse international law on how war is conducted with a non-existant legal basis to go to war. This is true for all countries not just the US and I never said different if you had any ability at objectivity you'd have realized that. We've had this conversation before and you were never able to provide the international legal binding document that prescribed when military action is "legal" or the legal body that rules on such things and typically resorted to threatening me with bodily harm. The act of going to war is a lot of things but it is not a matter of legality.

We've had this conversation before and you were never able to provide the international legal binding document that prescribed when military action is "legal" or the legal body that rules on such things but you couldn't provide any such things and typically resorted to threatening me with bodily harm. The act of going to war is a lot of things but it is not a matter of legality.
