Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
1 United States Floyd Mayweather Jr 45–0 (26 KO) Junior middleweight
2 United States Andre Ward 26–0 (14 KO) Super middleweight
3 United States Timothy Bradley 31–0–0–1 (12 KO) Welterweight
4 Ukraine Wladimir Klitschko 61–3 (51 KO) Heavyweight
5 Argentina Sergio Gabriel Martínez 51–2–2 (28 KO) Middleweight
6 Mexico Juan Manuel Márquez 55–6–1 (40 KO) Welterweight
7 Philippines Manny Pacquiao 54–5–2 (38 KO) Welterweight
8 United States Adrien Broner 27–0 (22 KO) Welterweight
9 Mexico Saúl Álvarez 42–1–1 (30 KO) Junior middleweight
10 Cuba Guillermo Rigondeaux 12–0 (8 KO) Junior featherweight
Rankings compiled by The Ring magazine
My thoughts:
Bradley, off two tight, controversial wins over Pac and JMM, is too high at # 3.
A case can be made for JMM and Sergio to be flip-flopped in the rankings.
Broner's iffy at # 8.
Canelo does not belong on the list.
Rigo's p4p material, but only has the 12 fights. Beating Nonito was big, though.
GGG belongs on the list before Canelo does.
The rest of the list looks alright.

Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
I think they have the top 5 right (Timothy, Wlad and Sergio can be shifted around at will). Floyd and SOG are clearly the top two athletes in the sport right now.
I'd like to see Danny Garcia and GGG breaking the top 10 too. Garcia's smashing of Matthysse was very impressive.
-
Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
I probably put quite a bit less stock in achievements than most as far as this. I think Golovkin and Garcia should be on there as well, definitely over Broner or Alvarez for me. I do think Rigondeaux is a better fighter than Wlad or Martinez currently as well, but can't gripe to much about that.
-
Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
Agreed, Broner should not be on the list. He might at some point but not now. I don't argue with the people who say Canelo should not be on. Get Bradley out of the three spot. All I can do is reiterate what you guys have said
-
Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
i dont really like how p4p is formulated. other than the first 2, i just about totally disagree.
-
Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
1 Floyd Mayweather Jr
2 Andre Ward
3 Timothy Bradley
4 Juan Manuel Márquez
5 Wladimir Klitschko
6 Sergio Martínez
7 Roman Gonzalez
8 Saúl Álvarez
9 Danny Garcia
10 Manny Pacquiao
At first I had a hard time with Gennady Golovkin. I couldn't find a spot for him. Than I remembered his best wins are still Matthew Macklin and Curtis Stevens. So he doesn't deserve a spot. Yet. Garcia win over Matthysee, Alvarez win over Trout and Gonzalez win over Estrada easily trump Golovkin best wins
-
Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
Delete Broner and Canelo from the list and everything else looks about right...
WTF has Canelo done and why the hell is Broner on the list. lol They got a free place on the list because they are promoted by GBP who happens to own the Ring Magazine..

Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
C'mon.... between you and me. You know Canelo has no business in the top 10 p4p list.
;)
Take off your biased hat and put on your knowledgeable boxing hat.... that's right.
Now think about it.
Just trying to be helpful here.

A victory over Austin Trout. You know the guy who had his way with your Miguel Cotto means a lot more than wins over Matthew Macklin and Curtis Stevens combined. It's that simple. If you think otherwise than there really is no hope for you.

One meaningful victory, VD. ONE. There's a conga line of boxers out there with more than just the one meaningful victory who are a hell of a lot more deserving for a spot in the top ten p4p than Canelo.
Canelo is still on the way up, VD. But there's no shortcuts into the elite. That shit's got to be earned over time, and with a hell of a lot more than one meaningful opponent.
-
Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
Anyway, VD... opinions are just that.... opinions. You think Canelo belongs in the top 10. I don't. I didn't even put Cotto in there, and he's got a lot more reasons to be in there than Canelo. Cotto's the decorated veteran, with the HOF resume. Cotto looked 20 times better against Floyd than Canelo did. Cotto faced better opposition in his first 15-20 fights... than Canelo has faced in his total 40-some. Etc, etc, etc. But I'm not here crowing about Cotto having to be on the list, because I know he's lost some fights, and is on the downhill side of a great career. Objectiveness..... it's a good concept. Try it sometime.

Golovkin ain't even got one yet. And you got him up there. You can't even follow your own stupid logic. I'm a big fan of Triple G. But lets be real here. Stevens and Macklin ain't big wins.

Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
the problem is that a p4p list is created differently for everybody. is it really who is the best fighter? or if there was a fluke KO, does that fighter go down? for example, lets say that mayweather is fighting garcia. mayweather is winning the whole fight easily and then mayweather slips and gets caught with a left that KO's him in the 12th round. does that move him down on the list? does that really mean that he still isnt the best? do we do the p4p list like we do weight class rankings? as in, if the fighter loses, do they automatically drop? or are we just saying who the best is regardless of what happened in their last fight?
-
Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
Disagree. I have it...
1. Guzman
2. Floyd
3. Garcia
4. Pac
5. Nucky Thompson
6. Richard Harrow
7. Callum Smith
8. Naz
9. OumaFan
10. ross
Fact.

Yeah... you're right.
They're nowhere as big as a shot Shane Mosley and an undersized Josesito Lopez.
But hey it's my mistake.

I'm gonna make this question as idiot proof as possible for you. You have Golovkin over Alvarez on the list. Which of Golovkin wins is better than Alvarez win over Austin Trout? All you gotta do state a name. That's it. Just a name. Don't even try and a give a reason why you think it's better. You'll only embarrass yourself further with your nonsense. So just state a name. There's no way you can fuck this up. Just give a name

Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
does it really matter who has the best win out of them? isnt this just a list of who you think is better?
-
Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
Outrageous talk. James Toney is clearly P4P number one again after Prizefighter and Manny Pac is still number 2 for me. I don't see how a single loss can erase the previous years of exceptionalism (Obama's word, not mine).

Lot of people are idiots. There opinion on who they think is better is useless. So yes it matters.

I'll give you 3 names. Three names of fighters who should easily rank ahead of Ginger in the p4p list. Matthysse, Donaire, and Mikey Garcia. Lucas and Nonito have lost... but each has a hell of a lot better resume than Ginger. I'll say it again, but my patience with your biased ignorance is wearing thin. One good fight does not a top 10 p4p fighter make. No matter how many times you may have serviced the young man.
Got it? Ginger's one good fight against a credible opponent does not warrant p4p consideration. To keep insisting that it does undermines your already ridiculously low credibility.

P4P is bullsh*t! I don't waste my time with P4P lists anymore

Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
It's not the concept that's flawed. It's how it's put into practice.
Like many things in life, it's rife with politics.
And if someone like Jose "Sullied-man" has anything to do with it, it's even worse.

It is a flawed concept! There's no defined outline that should be followed. Some just if all were same weight who would win, others consider opposition, other consider longevity, then personal favourites come into play
I only concentrate on divisional ratings as they are more relevant to the sport

You can't defend having Ginger in the top 10 p4p, so you resort to our infantile insults.
You're so pathetically predictable.
Go ahead... buy yourself some monogrammed kneepads for when you're deep-throating Ginger like you've done MargaCheato, the panty-wearing JCC Jr., and all the scumbags you so lustily defend.

You think ignoring it will just make it go away. It don't work that. Stupidity should never be ignored. It needs to be pointed out and laughed at. Now you know why the forum is always laughing at you

Golovkin ain't even got one yet. And you got him up there. You can't even follow your own stupid logic. I'm a big fan of Triple G. But lets be real here.
Stevens and Macklin ain't big wins.
Yeah... you're right.
They're nowhere as big as a shot Shane Mosley and an undersized Josesito Lopez.
But hey it's
my mistake.
Just goes to show you can't be civil to a proven moron.
I knew you would fuck it up. You really are a fucking idiot. And what's funny is you can't even follow your own stupidity. Think about it. You say Alvarez one win over a credible opponent isn't enough. But some how Golovkin 0 wins over credible opponents is enough. And you wonder why they laugh at you
You can't defend having Ginger in the top 10 p4p, so you resort to our infantile insults.
You're so pathetically predictable.
Go ahead... buy yourself some monogrammed kneepads for when you're deep-throating Ginger like you've done MargaCheato, the panty-wearing JCC Jr., and all the scumbags you so lustily defend.
I'm just calling you out on your moronic nonsense. You say Alvarez shouldn't be consider cuz he has only one quality win. But some how Golovkin with no quality wins can be considered. :lolhaha: You make this to fucking easy. Go ahead defend your stupidity. I dare you. But you won't. You think ignoring it will just make it go away. It don't work that. Stupidity should never be ignored. It needs to be pointed out and laughed at. Now you know why the forum is always laughing at you
Funny how the forum clown feels he can "speak" for the forum.
Grow some balls and speak for yourself.
I'll dumb it down for you.
Golovkin is not a hype job like Alvarez.
It wasn't Golovkin that looked like an overhyped amateur against Floyd.
Golovkin didn't get fed with a silver spoon like Ginger.
Half the boxing world doesn't even know where Golovkin hails from..... whereas Ginger is such a Mexican hype job, even Chavez Sr. said as much.
But you go ahead, keep swallowing.

Chavez Sr. Responds To Canelo's Career Comments - Boxing News
This from the guy who fought 45 cab drivers in Mexico to start his career. Let me tell you.... if Chavez Sr., who also has brought along his coddled son.... says that Canelo is being handled with "tweezers"..... that's saying something.
Between the three of them, they can write a book on starting off a career fighting bums.
Go ahead and defend that, lame brain.
But first take Ginger's member out of your mouth.

See how fucking easy it is? I play you the way Cotto plays with that guy in his bed. Got you saying stupid shit after stupid shit. Golovkin has no quality wins. What part of that don't you fucking understand? I know you just found out who Golovkin is. And I understand all the current PR fighters fucking suck. So you're looking for someone new to put in your mouth. And Golovkin has been very impressive. But he's not a top 10 pound for pound fighter yet. Why? Cuz he hasn't beaten a quality opponent yet. It's really not be that hard to understand.

You don't play with anything except maybe Ginger's balls. Why you going on about Golovkin still? 'Cause you can't defend Ginger on his own merits? Everyone can see right through you. You're a fake punk-ass bitch snot-nosed miserable little twat who obviously didn't get past a grade-school education. You put Ginger in the top 10. Tell us why. Nothing else needs to come out of your keyboard.

I already did stupid. Alvarez win over Austin Trout trumps Golovkin win over Macklin. Why? Cuz Trout is a better fighter than Macklin. Seriously it's not that hard to understand. Let me guess. You still don't get do you? Damn it sucks being you.

Re: Latest p4p rankings. Agree or disagree?
Danny Garcia and Lucas Matthysse both deserve p4p over Canelo, thus bumping Canelo from the top 10. Now..... stop talking about Golovkin just because you have no true defense for Ginger. Just because you deep-throat Ginger on a regular basis does not qualify him for the p4p list. Live with it.

Still talking about GGG?? Damn.... you ARE a moron.
The fact that you ignored my comments on Danny Garcia and Matthysse prove one of three things:
a. You suffer from selective reading syndrome.
b. You're a fucking moron.
c. You're a fucking moron.

I have Garcia on the list. So why do I need to comment on him, stupid? And why are you refusing to answer the Golovkin question? Explain how he and his no quality wins deserves to be in the top 10?
