Fights you viewed differently after re-watching
Been awhile since I watched DLH vs Quartey- when it occurred most felt DLH got a GR8 gift, I kinda did as well. I think I scored it like 7-5 for Ike and was leaning 8-4.
Watched it yesterday.
This time I didn't have it 2-1 going to the 3rd with Harold Lederman. I had it 3-0 for DLH who was the aggressor, threw more, while Ike did have some single shots that impacted DLH, I couldn't see giving Ike those rounds simply because his D was tight as hell and landed single shots.
Mid rounds Ike did come on, but I think with the 12th round DLH won the fight. -and if there ever was a case for a 10-8 round due to overwhelming dominance without a knockdown, this final round is a great example.
Not sure what was different with me- but watching it again.....DLH won the fight without controversy.

Mayweather Alverez.
Honestly I went back and watched the fight and was surprised how differently it looked.

In what respect? How did you think it looked 2nd time round? I ask because I watched this once, but I was in another country with no commentary, and I thought Floyd won every round. Should I be watching it again?

Jack Sharkey vs. Primo Carnera 'II'
Primo really nailed the Champion with a 'tremendous' right-uppercut in Round 6.

i was drunk when i watched froch kessler 1 the first time, i saw kessler coming forward more and thought he deserved it overall
the next day i saw that there were people who suggested it was a home town decision so i watched it again and i thought froch won, in fact at about round 6 it looked like kessler was done

Firstly, I would say that the first score that you come up with is really the only score that matters but you can watch a fight and completely misinterpret the context of the fight.
First time around, I saw Canelo retreating and looking confused, second time around, I saw Canelo doing a mediocre job of not falling for Mayweather's traps. Also there were many occasions where Mayweather was being hit but showed great composure - where first time around I didn't even acknowledged that he'd been caught. In this view I can understand how he could have been given a draw.
Honestly though, I think someone else on here said it was close and thought it was ridiculous until I watched it again.

Joe Frazier vs. Muhammad Ali 'II'
Who can honestly deny that Smokin' Joe had Muhammad in a real 'bad way' in the
12th Round.
Muhammad was in bad-shape just before the Bell sounded. Had this been a 15-Round
bout, Smokin' Joe would have undoubtedly stopped Muhammad in the 13th Round.
Forget about the 'clutching, grabbing, holding', as well all know they were illegal fouls.

Ah, liquid vision.
Watching a fIght with allot of people can also alter my Fight judging skills.
My family is so biased for Ali, then when I watch Ali Frazier alone, different story.

Yes, they actually said that.

95% of the non mexican World thinks Alvarez won at the absolute most 2 rounds and most think less than 2. You will find more people that think he won 0 rounds than people that think it was a draw. So anyone saying it was a draw or can even be argued is being ridiculous. The fight wasn't remotely close or debatable. But i guess after May 2nd any ridiculous claim can be made. I'll go watch Floyd smack Alvarez around again now and try desperately to find 3 rounds for Alvarez in the honor of proposterous draw claims.

Re: Fights you viewed differently after re-watching
For me it is HAMED V M.A.B ,when I first saw the fight with all Hamed's ALLAH this ALLAH that ,he of course he was handed his ass by MAB at the time is was shocking and a little funny.
Now when I look at the fight from the intro's I find the outcome of each round and the conclusion fucking hilarious and satisfying .

It was me who scored it 7 - 5 to Floyd and I am not Mexican. I stand by it.

Jesus Christ, Ron do yourself a favour - don't bother. You've got yourself all wound up because you've misunderstood my point. I'm not trying to make claims here. That would be daft. I could watch that fight again and see it a different way. I'm not going to though. The point has already been made. It can happen.

Re: Fights you viewed differently after re-watching
Adamak vs Briggs II.
1st time watching it fight II, I scored it 7-5 like the 1st fight.
Not as good as the first bout as Adamak just couldn't outslug him this time- bleeding profusely, he did boxed his way to the 12th.
judge: Mauro Di Fiore 113-113, Ray Hawkins 115-111, Ken Morita 114-112
Last two times I watched it- it was a draw. Couldn't give Adamak a 7th round.

First of all it was a good fight. A few rounds were close but it was not a close fight, in my opinion. Do any of you remember what Canelo said post fight? He said, "I couldn't find him." That means he couldn't run him down, he couldn't walk him down, he couldn't keep him on the ropes, and he couldn't keep him in a corner. When a good fighter like Canelo says something like that, you know that fighter was beat convincingly.

Re: Fights you viewed differently after re-watching
I'm surprised Floyd-Canelo has gotten as much attention as it has in this particular thread. I personally couldn't say how I'd view it differently, because I'd rather watch paint dry than to watch Floyd totally shut out Canelo again. The hype was incredible.... the fight was piss poor. It brought out the fact that Canelo didn't belong in the ring with Floyd in the first place. The only other "hype vs. real fight" letdown was Floyd-Pac... and at least Pac was able to actually hit Floyd a few times during the fight.
-
Re: Fights you viewed differently after re-watching
;D sooooo, are you saying you have surprised yourself then or...
-
Re: Fights you viewed differently after re-watching
DLH/Whitaker. I watched it when I first started watching boxing and thought Oscar won it easy, because I got caught up in the commentators bias and Lampley's tendency to call Oscar's missed/blocked punches as landed punches. When I watched again years later when I knew more about boxing, I realized it was way closer, arguably a Whitaker win.

Yeah but that says a lot about Floyd, doesn't it? That he could go up a weight class and dominate a guy who was #1 there and over 20lbs heavier than him on fight night. Canelo is no joke and Mayweather made him look like a bum.

Re: Fights you viewed differently after re-watching
I mean I know it wasn't Gatti/Ward but when you watch the boxing craft that Mayweather displayed, especially at his advanced age, it's incredible.
I find it weird that boxing heads love to talk about the craft of past guys like Willie Pep and marvel at how slick they were, but then totally dismiss the craft of modern day guys as boring or cowardly. If you appreciate the sweet science, Floyd brings the goods.

Yes, it was a close fight but I have to say I do think Trout got robbed. At the time Canelo was being groomed for greatness. The only way Trout could have won was if he KTFO Canelo. If the fight didn't happen in Texas I think the outcome would have been closer.

yeah i agree, Canelos position and "potential" didnt harm the scoring, in fact wasnt the scoring quite wide?
the scoring was bad but im not sure canelo deserved to lose

yeah its a pity hes such a bell end
maybe he wouldnt be as good if he wasnt such a complete bellend
has there ever been a bigger big name bell end boxer that floyd?
I cant think of one
David Haye and his delicate pinky toe!
seen the vid of floyd talking to the dummy as if it was pac
he really does have the charisma of a massive smelly dog shit
I'm not altogether certain, but I sense you're not a big fan of Floyd's? ;)
