    Default Golden Boy files protest to Ring, WBC, and CAC, over the Hopkins ruling

    I don't know what the California State Athletic Commission will decide, but the WBC & Jose Sulaiman are nothing but a bunch of fucking crooks, so nothing they do would surprise me.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    As originally reported by Ringtv.com, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer reiterated that he plans to file a protest seeking to overturn Saturday night's second-round technical knockout victory for Dawson.
    "I talked to [WBC President] Jose Sulaiman, and he said that they are going to review it. The RING is going to review it as well, so this guy didn't get the belts. This guy may have gotten the decision, but I will fight for Bernard to keep the belts, so we are obviously going to file a protest," said Schaefer, who must make his appeal with the California State Athletic Commission within five days.
    "We have informed George Dodd, the executive director of the California State Athletic Commission, that we will file a protest. Our attorneys together with Bernard's attorneys are working on it today. We want to achieve three things. We want to ask the California Athletic Commission to overturn the decision and we want the WBC and The RING to continue to recognize Bernard as their champion."
    If this had happened to someone else besides Hopkins, i'd probably give a shit. The thing is, either way, there needs to be a rematch ordered, this needs to get settled in the ring, ASAP, so we can get bored to tears again.
    Hopefully next time it won't be on PPV.
    thing is, if it's up to Dawson...there wont be a rematch cause he already bitched out of one
    If you don't give a shit why are you creating threads about it?
    Not that I need to explain a fucking thing to you bilbo, but what I said was, I don't give a shit that Hopkins lost his titles. I created a thread about the pending ruling, because it's boxing news, what part of that confuses you?
    You seem to believe that everything I post is "stupid" so do yourself a favor, just don't read my Texas hick drivil, think you can handle that mate?
    I really don't know all the facts, but couldn't the CAC, or the WBC order a rematch whether Dawson likes it or not?
    BTW, the California Athletic Commission sanctioned the fight, so it's up to the CAC whether or not to reverse or change the decision, not Ring or the WBC.
    it's up to the CAC to reverse the decision, it's up to the WBC to order a rematch, but even if the WBC order's a rematch it's gonna be no shock if right after you hear that Dawson drops the title
    True, Dawson may just can the WBC belt, in a way, I wouldn't blame him. Really though, I believe a lot of boxing fans would want to see a rematch, and they wouldn't be happy if Dawson canned the belt.
    Chances are the CAC will make a ruling this week, so no telling what's going to happen.
    It should be a N/C, Hopkins should keep his belt, and an immediate rematch should be ordered.
    The trinket is not the issue for me. Any man that claims a 'victory' and to have bested a man in the ring and is satisfied off that weak crooked crap of a "tko" finale should have his head examined. BOTH men should want a rematch, and insist on it.
    here's an article written by Cal Fussmen on ESPN.com that basically hits the nail on the head of what went down Saturday
    Wait a minute. You are angry about Dawson's post fight actions. I get it. Don't forget there was a while there where Hopkins wouldn't fight Dawson. Let's see how interested in the rematch Hopkins is too. Also, I'm not sure there is a desire by the boxing public to see them in the ring again after what happened.
    This fight should and will be ruled a no contest. It reminds of the Nate Campbell/Tim Bradley fight a little while back that was called a win by Bradley but later changed to a no contest.
    I'm sure interested to see how the Golden Boy protest to the Ring gets settled. ;-)
