Every doctor/pharmacist i've spoken to said virtually all those buy over the counter supplements do nothing. Very sketchy evidence. The placebo effect. People who buy the supplements are already conscious of their health, therefore will actively be eating, drinking and mentally seeking to be more healthy too. The most important factor is what we eat. Actual food.
My mum was giving me cod liver oil and multi-vitamin tablets from when I was a kid. I have severe osteoporosis. (

) I took the strongest Turmeric available for 12 months. Never noticed the slightest difference (glad it helps many people but certainly won't help anyone with severe joint inflammation/arthritis)
I have several prescribed vitamins, there's a D, B and strong this and strong that. Apparently they're needed because I can't absorb food properly.
