Pacquiao wants De La Hoya for the money. Nothing else. De La Hoya is no longer the fighter he once was. Everybody knows that. If it's about legacy for Pacquiao than why doesn't he try and set up a fight with Margarito or Cotto? A win over them would mean more than a win over a past his prime De La Hoya. Why not call them out? Cuz neither brings in the dollars like De La Hoya does. That's why. Pacquiao like every fighter out there bows down to the money. Anybody that says otherwise is a fukking idiot.
Of course when you fight Oscar, money is always a major factor but I think for PAC, money is just one of the factors. PAC likes to fight legends (Barrera, Morales) and Oscar is a boxing legend. He climbed weight division after weight division chasing these legends. Fighting and defeating a legend will enhance greatly your own legacy. Margarito or Cotto? Sorry but they're not legends yet.

In terms of legacy, PAC is in a win-win situation with this fight. IF (big if) he wins, his legacy will soar in all time high and he'll probably becomes boxing's most marketable fighter after Oscar retires. If he loses, nothing much will affect his already established legacy. Only idiots will turn down a DelaHoya fight.
