Tyson was a very hard hitting Heavyweight who came along at the right time opponents wise and HBO publicity wise.
Once he fought guys who could handle themselves and fought back, he wasn't nearly as good.
I don't question at all that he was a spectacular fighter from 1985-1988. One hell of a phenom. But this over romantized notion that he could have been 100-0 if he had just kept Kevin Rooney is just plain goofy.
Looking at how he cut through the fighters he had to deal with with such ease how can you be sure he wouldnt have? At only 22 he had years ahead of him to reach his potential, maybe only another 5 but at the rate he was fighting he could have had another 30 fights at least undefeated.
the only fighters worth mentioning on Tyson's resume he lost to, the others were past it or not real heavys (spinks)...
He loses to Holy- 9 out of 10 any version
same with lennox
he would have lost to the old version of george foreman...Tyson's only claim to greatness is being the youngest heavy in history...which is great.
