Well I understand that, but if the guy fought both Klitschko's (win or lose both brothers want to fight him) he would make more money than let's say if Audley sparks him.
The flipside is Haye knocks out Audley makes £15m, and then makes another £10m or so fighting a mandatory, before fighting either Klitschko. I know which one i'd go for if i was Haye.
£15m for Audley? Dream on Your theory does make sense though.

Lets say Haye can get £5million for being a 70/30 underdog against a Klit or £2.5million for being a 90/10 favourite against Audley. He loses to a Klit and he's back at the bottom of the pile. A spectacular KO over Audley increases his value for future fights.

What do you choose?
Yeah maybe £15m is a bit excessive. I forgot Sky will take a percentage of the PPV. I reckon it wouldn't be off £5m.
