if you are a "bargain shopper" like me, Mesquite has $5 prime rib dinners.
First, in Vegas did you sign up for email notices/offers from different hotels? That's the way to go to save some money. You'll get special deals/discounts that you won't get if you just go straight to making a reservation online.
Did you check the terms when you booked your room? A lot of hotels in Vegas have now started a policy that they will charge you an amenities fee in advance when you check in, and if you don't use it you'll get credited when you leave. When I went there for a week, I almost stayed at The Palazzo which is part of The Venetian, but luckily I happened to look at the terms and conditions and seen that besides the room rate, they were going to charge me an additional $150 per day in advance. Now I don't know if it was because I was staying a week, and I was there during New Years, so you may want to check your reservation out, just to play it safe if you want to use that money for something else. There was no way I would spend $150 a day in room service, etc., so I cancelled my reservation. Then I was going to get a suite at Planet Hollywood, because they have some cool suites, but they charged $100 per day in advance. Then I checked other hotels only to find the same thing. To me, that was gambling money, so I got a suite at Treasure Island, which was a bigger suite than both of those hotels for less money, and the only extra fee I got was $20 per day to be able to use my laptop in my room, and other little benefits. I stayed in a tower suite, instead of a regular quest room.

If you like to hike, definitely head west about 1/2 hour from The Strip to Red Rocks. It's absolutely beautiful, and they have many different hiking trails.
If you don't mind heights, and want to get a little adrenaline pumping, head to the top of the Stratosphere, and go on the rides on top of it. Or take a controlled jump from the top as well.
When are you going?
Floyd Mayweather fights while im in Vegas, will go watch that to.
